Meat platter with rice and salad

Newer place right by my house. Fresh ingredients, great selection and best baklava I've had in a long time. Chef/owner have twice accommodated us when they were out of something or we had someone with an allergy to a particular spice after a short wait. The beef is super tender. The thinner pitas are yummy and make good wraps.

Food was very satisfying! Very delicious hit the mark on Middle Eastern food! The place is small and cozy but enough seating to sit inside. Great service, the food just took a bit longer to come out. But overall a great experience for a place that's only been open since April!

"Chunks of chicken tender chopped" quoting the chef

Disgusting food. Presliced frozen gyros with a glob of yogurt sauce not even correct sauce. The shawarma wrap was chicken tender chopped up into chunks.

Friendly service by the person who seems to be the owner. Delicious lentil soup -- warm and kinda salty and not 100% blended.

The offerings are wide in selection but be sure what you are getting as you might be ordering one thing and getting something you don't expect. I ordered the gyro. It came looking like a normal gyro but when I bit in it had pickles on it! And not just a couple... it was loaded. No where on the menu did it say it would have pickles on my gyro. I have here had pickles on a gyro before and it just struck me as odd. They were a very different pickle too... with a very pronounced twang to them. After a few bites I drown it all with the gyro sauce and ate it... I was hungry... but honestly I would not order it again. Everyone else's food had its differences too. Nothing terrible just not what was expected. Over all not a bad place but maybe be a bit more descriptive on the menus board so that we know what we are getting.

When we entered the restaurant, if you feel like you're transported into another country, even the background music compliments what you're about to experience It's a dicey kinda place nothing fancy. First you would have to take a look at the menu and place your order at the front. They do not have waiters staff to your table. There are two rooms one that you can sit with the front table to order and another room is full of tables that can also accommodate large parties. The guy was pretty good remembering who ordered what while people were coming in and out, placing orders and sitting down and enjoying their food. To my surprise, the service was quick and friendly we ordered the six piece falafel appetizer which was crispy and hot and the tahini was nice and creamy Hubby enjoyed his grape flavored crush. Haven't had that in a while. When we got our meal hubby ordered the beef and chicken combo shredding pieces on top of rice nice and tender had a lemony taste to it and I had the assorted shredded soft beef on top of seasoned yellow fluffy rice. When we got our meal, it was plenty , especially for the price. We could have shared a plate The meat was nice and tender and the sauce was spot on the season yellow rice yum! I couldn't stop eating the rice, but I had to cause I was getting too full that we had take out containers and can I tell you the leftovers was even better! I overheard one of the customers who was happy with his wrapped meal said compliments to the chef the owner said it is his grandmother who cooked and prepared our food. overall it was a nice experience. Staff was friendly place was clean. Food was good and plenty. I'll definitely come back here again even if it's out of the way, the flavor and the texture of the rice was really good! This was a nice find you don't stumble upon new places like this often so I won't gate keep it. if you like this kind of food and you're picky about your rice then Check it out and enjoy your meal here!

Upon my first visit on a Thursday for lunch, the waitress Nur provided excellent service to our table. She was patient, pleasant, and provided answers to our many questions. Just loved her service with a smile and uplifting energy. My friends and I ate hard and everyone enjoyed their food. I tried the lentil soup which was wonderful and I had the mushroom guvec with rice on the side that was delicious. We were served tea as an after dinner refresher which was nice. We noticed the bakery on the way out and they had so many treats ready to be ordered and taken home. The second visit was terrible. I came for lunch on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy. The lahmacon is offered as a lunch special and I asked if I could have the cheesemacon for the special. It's the same version with just cheese and no meat. My waiter Jamal straight told me no. I found that very odd so I inquired further because they are the same price on the menu and it's without meat. The answer still didn't change. I simply had a few more questions about other menu items and Jamal seemed agitated by then. He was not even trying to be nice. I ordered two entrees. I paid full price for the cheesemacon and had a pide with kashkaval cheese. Jamal brought my food and NEVER came back to my table. I watched him provide service to all the other tables during that time. I was fine and didn't need anything, but I didn't deserve to be treated that way for being pleasantly inquisitive. I really felt bothered by this because out of all my years of eating out, I never felt that a server treat me poorly personally for being myself. I've had bad service before just because the service is bad overall and that is different. I like the food so I reluctantly returned for a third time and had breakfast. Service was standard and the food was good. My mushroom omelette was fine. The traditional french toast was solid. This review should be one star but it is four without Jamal.

I've since visited the Niles location several times. The food has always been consistently excellent, but unfortunately the service has never matched the quality of the kitchen. Today's visit was by far the worst. It took over 10 minutes for our server to come to the table to take our order. Throughout the meal, I had to repeatedly flag her down whenever we needed something. To make matters worse, she seemed to disappear halfway through dinner--I'm assuming she clocked out--because we had to get another server's attention just to receive basic assistance. The food, however, was fantastic. I ordered the Al Bawadi Seafood Mixed Grill, and it absolutely delivered. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. That's what makes this so frustrating. This restaurant serves some of the best Middle Eastern food in the area, but when you're paying premium prices, you expect service that matches the quality of the food. I still recommend the food without hesitation, but the consistently poor service at the Niles location is making it harder to justify returning.

Our server was so kind and never let us make the mistake of ordering the wrong thing. She gave us her recommendations every step of the way and every single one was perfect. What we got: Mint lemonade: 5/5. SO refreshing and delicious. Perfect sweetness and the little bit of pulp you get is great. I only wish there was more of it! Chicken arayes: 4.5/5. Crispy, cheesy, garlicky. Need I say more? Get some extra garlic on the side if you wanna take it up a notch. Fried halloumi: 4/5. These are like a soft mozzarella stick, so tasty. Definitely eat the pickles with them. Lamb chops: 4.5/5. 4 tender lamb chops seasoned beautifully. Definitely recommend the red rice over the yellow if you can handle a little bit of heat. Kanafeh: 5/5. Whoever thought that cheese, sweet syrup, phyllo, and pistachios would go together is a genius. Definitely don't leave without getting this dessert. The salt of the cheese perfectly balances out the sweetness. No notes! And get some peppermint tea to go with it too. And the portion sizes are huge! Definitely get your money's worth here. My only issue is this place is right by my job so now I'm gonna go broke getting food here all the time. But that's a problem I'd love to have!

Here's what we tried: * Vegetarian Combo: 5/5 stars- Ezme, hummus, falafel, and eggplant dip all on one plate. A perfect starter and a great way to taste a little bit of everything. *Mix Grill: 5/5 stars- chicken kebab, beef kebab, Adana kebab, chicken kofte, beef kofte and doner kebab. This was a hit at the table- every single piece was flavorful, juicy, and absolutely delicious. *Turkish Iskender: 2/5 stars- this one wasn't for me. This dish is made with a bread base topped with tomato base and shredded lamb and beef. The flavor was unique, but the texture just didn't work for me. I don't think I would order it again as it felt very soggy. *Ali Nazik: 3/5 stars- smoked grilled meat over a bed of creamy garlic, yogurt and eggplant. The meat was wonderful, but the yogurt and eggplant mix felt a little off chunky and bland like cottage cheese and needed a stronger punch of flavor. *Manti: 5/5 stars- tortellini stuffed with ground beef served in a creamy yogurt with chilly oil. unlike other places where the dumplings are huge and heavy these were small bite size and perfectly balance easily one of my favorites of the night. I composed myself and took a seat. They have great hot and cold appetizers. They have breakfast! Check out their menu, I've included a pic. Lahmacun is a crunchy brick oven flatbread with ground meat. It feels so light, airy, and crunchy, you could eat the whole thing and later say "..um, I ate the whole thing". We ordered a few King Chef's mixed grill platters. It is a medley of filet morsels, chicken, lamb chops, shawarma, shish kebab, and many other things, along with bulgar and fries. The line was pretty long which gave me an indication that it was popular/good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered their Falafel bowl, with rice and a bunch of their available options. You are allowed to select 4 and then every topping after that is $1 per topping. This seems a bit extreme as they are NOT generous when adding your selected ingredients. I was expecting a much larger portion, but understand they are a business and have to manage their margins. The food itself was fine. The falafel were just ok, and had been sitting in a container, lacking the crispiness and freshness I am used to normally. For the extra options, everything tasted fine, I just felt skimped on the portions I was given. The highlight for me was the hot sauce that they offer. It was extremely flavorful and had a nice level of heat. I would buy that by the bottle if It was available. I think Falafill is worth a try, but you just have to manage your expectations. They do not come close to the traditional mediterranean restaurants I am used to visiting, but for mall food it's pretty good.
