As always their food is consistent, which is what I look for in a good restaurant. Still getting same old same chicken kabobs and falafel sandwich sometimes falafels on the sides makes sense. But they come through. But Pita House earns the five stars for me, because I've been there very often, and besides the wonderful food, I find them to be consistent, polite, and professional, with reasonable pricing just as a bonus. On this visit I opted for the beef shawarma sandwich, falafel, and the fatoush salad. I ate inside as I usually do here, because it's easy, spacious and clean. Although I'm not a huge falafel lover, I always enjoy them here. The salad was a new choice for me and I really liked it. The beef shawarma is my standard go-to here. Great food. Couldn't find the allergen info on the menus or website so I asked. Cashier said that the only thing that had gluten was the pita. She made sure it wasn't in my meal. I greatly appreciate the consideration and clarification. I asked if the tahini sauce had any dairy and the cashier said that it was dairy free and listed off the ingredients. This restaurant used to be amazing years ago when it was on Roselle Road. I even used to cater food from here for parties. Unfortunately, things have really gone downhill. I've tried it about three times over the past four years, and each visit has been disappointing. The quality of the food is now very poor. The chicken is bland and often undercooked. There's nothing truly Mediterranean about the food anymore--the rice tastes more like Mexican cuisine than Mediterranean. On my last visit, I ordered a chicken sandwich, which was not good, and some pieces of falafel. The falafel looked great on the outside--crispy and golden--but the inside was undercooked. It's unfortunate because the owner is still the same, but the quality just isn't what it used to be. I'd recommend saving your money and trying another place instead. read more

The restaurant was very clean and there is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. My husband ordered the Super Combination and loved it. I ordered a dozen Falafel and gave some to my husband. They were very filling... I even took some home with me. I also ordered the Baba Ghannouj and it was really fresh and delicious. We dipped our food in it and loved it! The portion size is decent but as compared to other middle eastern places we felt as if it was less. The food was ok in taste and there was nothing special with the flavors. The lamb meat was little hard as compared to other places serving tender meat. However, the veggie plate was good. As soon as you pull up to the restaurant, you are greeted with a very clean and welcoming patio with a small fountain with lots of seating. The interior is very spacious and clean. You order your meal at the counter where a worker immediately greet you with a friendly hello they offer a full variety of Mediterranean dishes that can be had with wraps sandwiches and entrées. My favorite item on the menu is the Kefta Kebabs or the Chicken shawarma sandwich that is prepared on a soft homemade pita. I also enjoy their super combo plate that comes with all of their meats on a bed of rice with tomato and lettuce on the side and pitas. Their sauces are also absolutely delicious. I really love their tahini sauce and they also have a red sauce that is more spicy that comes with all dishes that is delicious. Their garlic sauce is also something that you have to try. My wife loves their chicken Shawarma plate with a side of their homemade hummus. Their prices are extremely reasonable a full plate costs around 1499 and a sandwich cost under 8 dollars. If you are in the mood for Mediterranean food, that is always consistent with excellent quality. Definitely go check them out. They do get busy during dinner time, but they are very quick with their ordering process. Pita House is my go-to when looking for a good meal especially after a gym workout or a Friday evening. It's a nice restaurant. Service is good. They don't ask for tips to cleanup after you. I find the price for a meal reasonable. I always order the chicken shawarma sandwich, a bowl of lentil soup, and an order of grape leaves wraps. The food is cooked an out fast. Our first time at Pita House even though it's super close to our house. Close to Binny's. Bonus! We came here to get take out for dinner, after a quick trip to nearby Binny's Beverage Depot. Super clean. There was only one other customer around 5 pm and the place looked super clean. Hand sanitizer is visible in a couple of spots as you enter the restaurant. I like the meatless and healthier options available too. Generous portions. The food portions were very generous and I'll probably get several meals out of my falafel plate. It came with six large falafel balls! My husband ordered the chicken shawarma plate and even at with his 6'2" frame, he could only eat a third of his meal! Dessert next time! It has been many years since I have been! I finally went to the "new" location off Higgins and Golf. It's a large building with plenty of seating, and looks modern and new. I ordered the Super Combination which comes with the Shawarma, Chicken Kabob, Shish Kabob, Kafta, and Falafel. For about $15, you get quite the portion for that cost. I also love to order the Jerusalem Salad. While I prefer the Shawarma to be less like the Greek gyros, it's still very good. The portion is quite large, you get bread, tahini, and shatta and you get the lettuce/tomato on the side. The service is quick and friendly. The location is very clean and there are always people inside. It's been quite a few years since I've been, but am glad to make this a regular staple again for myself. read more

This is the first time that this happened to me here, I ordered the pita sandwich and when I took it out of the wrapper it was a sloppy mess and just thrown together. I ordered the tamarind juice and it was really watered down and I asked the staff behind the counter and they acknowledged that it was bad and still chose to serve it knowing that it was severely under par and just shrugged it off like I was wrong for making mention. Five star experience today. Food was incredibly v fresh and tasty. We hadCombination Feast and lentil soup and hummus with pita bread. The two of us could not finish it. Meat was grilled and seasoned well. So tender that a knife wasn't needed. Pita bread was hot and slightly chewy. We sat outside near the water feature that is surrounded by gorgeous flowers. So, I went in, and the restaurant was empty (as I almost went at the time of closing), and the place was super clean. They had a variety of meatless and vegan options available. I ordered a Falafel Sandwich, 3 Veggie Falafel on the side and Baklava as a dessert which was really tempting (I saw it on display). My order came within 15 minutes and the food was very well wrapped and the dessert was placed in a small box. First, I had the Falafel Sandwich which was very well wrapped with ground chickpeas, tomatoes, lettuce, and spices into tasty patties. The size of the sandwich was almost equal to an adult palm which filled my stomach, the falafel was deep fried which had flavorful crispness and the veggies were fresh too. The sandwich also came with a couple of special sauces which gave a nice kick to the Sandwich. Then, I jumped onto the pastry "Baklava" which was mouth-watering, fresh, and crisp. I just enjoyed every bite until the end of it. I would recommend trying it out. Overall, it has been a long time since I had food from a Mediterranean place and surprisingly my experience turned out to be amazing. Good customer service and the place was super casual and awesome.
