My son was thrilled with his sprinkle donut, especially with the fun, non-standard colors like blue and green. My husband's apple fritter had a strong cinnamon flavor with bits of apple; it was a bit crunchier on the edges than we expected, but still delicious. We got an old fashioned for our one-year-old, and it was the perfect choice - not too sweet, nor sticky. The big surprise was the breakfast sausage sandwiches my husband and son ordered. The high-quality egg, sausage, and cheese on a fresh croissant were fantastic. I took a bite and was truly impressed, especially for the price... under $5 is very reasonable for the size. I was waffling over the Kona iced coffee, so a worker kindly gave me a sample. It was stronger, sweeter, and creamier than I expected, so I happily purchased a cup. The shop itself is small and can get a bit crowded, so it's probably not the best spot if you're planning to sit and eat inside. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Ankeny though. I can already imagine grabbing donuts and coffee to enjoy at the park with the kids once the weather warms up!

What's great about that Is there's multiple fillings. So you can choose ones such as Bavarian cream or raspberry jelly, etc. The service is always exceptional and quick. If you choose to eat in the store, there's plenty of chairs and tables with the option of purchasing drinks like pop, coffee, including milk, which is extremely important when eating donuts. Another secret gem is their jalapeño cheddar sausage wrapped in a croissant. It's a must every time we go. This too sells out quickly so get there early.

Visited on a Sunny day at 9am on a Wednesday and their donut case was full of treats! And they were tasty. Walked out with 2 glazed donuts for $2.xx before gratuity. Michelle, the owner, was very polite and welcoming. I've been to Daylight Donuts for a breakfast party before and it was such a great time. Daylight Donuts have been catered to events I've attended and their donuts are always a bit hit. The shop is full of mini Polaroid pictures on the walls that many patrons have taken and posted. Very quaint shop and inviting. Would definitely visit again and will try their milk teas.

Some of the staff were just entering the store and preparing the boba as I was leaving around 9 am. And that's completely reasonable since most boba places aren't open until noon. Service was attentive and friendly. I had a few questions about some of the donuts and fillings and she was very helpful.
