The chef transformed it with seaweed and the breading. The yuca fries and sauce were also so delicious. The okra got rave reviews. I wasn't a fan of the vegan oxtails. I was expecting both the texture and flavor of Jamaican oxtails but the dish only captured the flavor. The vegan oxtails were mushroom caps. As many reviews have noted, almost everything here is made to order so plan to wait 30-45 minutes for your food. The Jamaican patties and desserts are available quickly. I recommend ordering ahead and picking up your food because the restaurant itself isn't really designed to have a sit down meal. Overall, the food was good and if I am in the area again, I would return to try other things on the menu. But I wouldn't make a whole trip for it.

It'll mean that you can avoid eating sweet potatoes (unless you like sweet potato, in which case, you're at the right place). That said, the side salad was excellent. Crisp greens, and a few bonus veg, with a creamy tasting dressing. No complaints, 5 stars. My friend got the black bean burger, and I got the chickpea burger. We got the burgers exactly a said on the menu with no customisation. This was a very VERY good choice. The chefs at Brick City Vegan know what they're doing, and they absolutely season the heck out of the food. Everything tasted so good, and the table fell silent as we demolished the food in front of us in the cool a/c. There was a napkin dispenser on the table, which you will need, because the burgers are generously sauced, and a bit of a mess to eat. Who cares? The food is incredible, and just the right amount of filling. Both of us ate every last morsel, and left feeling satisfied. For both of our burgers, I think it was less than $30 grand total after taxes. Not the cheapest meal, but certainly not at all expensive by vegan standards.

so living in queens on and off for over 16 years has experience many changes, its good to see more natural cafe and juice bar popping up in the community. so, i decided to try the detoxx bar. first i walk in and i guess the lady in charge was just giggling an flirting with some customer while i wait to be served, i finally i got her attention and gave her the bottle of coconut water i wanted to purchase she then took the water a place it on the counter behind her while she continued talking to the guy i tried to tell her i have exact change just take the money and give me the water i don't need a bag instead of her giving me the water she commented, you must be having a bad day mister. if i was having a bad day it would have started with you at the detoxx bar The reason i didn't get a juice which was my first intention was because your fruits and vegetables used are none organic gmo's which the last time i check to word detoxx means to rids the body of toxins none organic gmo's are full of pesticide and have heavy metal and other chemical in them. i over heard she said the fruits and veggies are farm fresh nice way of avoiding the truth. you should change the store name from detoxx bare to just a juice bar. would not return obviously.
