I had visited the location a couple days before my mom passed and they were very respectful and took down all of our information so that after my mom passed they were able to just come in take her body to the home. They also were able to get all of our official documentation information filled out at that moment as well. We had the basic cremation package which allowed us a 30 minute viewing. The space was clean and allowed us some private time with my mom before she was cremated. Receiving her remains and death certificate was also very efficient. We received both a couple business days after the viewing. Thank you for making a difficult life event pain free and simple. That was very important for us as we grieved.

We understand that these requests may take time, but the lack of communication and the dismissive attitude we received are unacceptable. Phone calls were not returned, questions were not properly answered, and we were repeatedly given the runaround. At times, it genuinely felt like we were inconveniencing the staff simply by calling and asking about our loved one. **We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for basic communication and respect.** If something takes time, tell the family. If there is a delay, communicate it. If something cannot be done, be upfront about it. Most families will understand when they are treated honestly and respectfully. When someone has entrusted a cemetery with the final resting place of their loved one, they should not have to chase down staff for answers or feel like a burden for wanting that grave properly cared for. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I sincerely hope River Hills improves how it communicates with and treats the families it serves.
