This was my first time at Salerno's and I was expecting the same, but was pleasantly surprised at the modern amenities at this home. The main interior is bright and doesn't feel somber as you walk through. The staff seemed polite and courteous and the seating was comfortable and plentiful. I said goodbye to one of my oldest friend's father last week and I found this funeral home a perfect place to honor him. He has was a former US Marine, so there was a flag ceremony that will live in my memory for a long time. This would be a great location for your service.

We had heavy hearts walking into the funeral home on the day of the wake bc we were afraid to see her. But to our relief she looked like our mom. She looked like the mother we all knew before she got sick. She looked peaceful. It helped make the rest of the day easier. The funeral home is well kept and comfortable. They cater to only one service at a time which is really nice. Plenty of parking. They also had a nice kitchenette for the family to use. I had visited the location a couple days before my mom passed and they were very respectful and took down all of our information so that after my mom passed they were able to just come in take her body to the home. They also were able to get all of our official documentation information filled out at that moment as well. We had the basic cremation package which allowed us a 30 minute viewing. The space was clean and allowed us some private time with my mom before she was cremated. Receiving her remains and death certificate was also very efficient. We received both a couple business days after the viewing. Thank you for making a difficult life event pain free and simple. That was very important for us as we grieved.

The family is currently on the West Coast and the memorial would be in the Chicago suburbs. Melissa Nelson was patient and compassionate as I called for information regarding a death half way across the country. She provided details on what Meadows could provide and also offered alternative solutions for us which wouldn't even result in revenue for her. To me, this is a sign of a true professional looking out for the best interests of the client. She also made any expenses that might be incurred very clear as she understands that many times families aren't prepared for the expense. The pre-planning process was easy; unfortunately, decisions made during that process weren't communicated clearly between Michaels' staff members when the arrangements were finalized. When Michael was present, he was professional and respectful. Not having the funeral director immediately available throughout the visitation was unexpected. Though there were a couple negatives, our overall experience was good. Their prices are very competitive and they don't apply pressure to make more expensive choices during a challenging time. Most importantly, they made my mom look better than she had in years, after an extended illness. We are grateful for the gift of seeing a very beautiful mom/grandma/aunt/friend for the last time.
