She made us feel like we were home. The atmosphere of the Catbird Seat B&B was everything we needed that weekend. The decor looked like it was out of a magazine....stunning! Elizabeth prepared a delicious country breakfast that made me want more. She treated us every afternoon with a refreshing pitcher of ice tea that I could not get enough of. I will stay at the Catbird Seat every time we are in the area. There is no other place this remarkable and memorable to stay.

It was a bit dark but we could definitely tell how cute and adorable this place was from the outside! The Victorian style architecture, the details, and the decorations around the house were phenomenal! The dining room, living room and even the restrooms were all filled with an antique feel furniture, books, etc. I loved the details on the door hands to the door hinges. My boyfriend was in awe of all the working sliding door hinges as they were older style - but definitely new. The breakfast was amazing - as I believe Josh cooked for us. I was stuffed! Even the breakfast service was delicious as Josh and Miriam joined us for a morning conversation as well~ The next morning, we went around the house to have a better look and you can definitely tell they put in a lot of work! Inside the living room is an old photo of how the house looked. And if you see it now - it looks exactly the same! Their yard looks amazing to have a cup of coffee/tea in and even have a little train area in the back! They also have a cat who is very friendly. (The cat is not allowed indoors FYI.) Overall, we LOVED this place and is definitely a place to stay at! This has so far been the BEST bread & breakfast place I have ever stayed at. He communicated directly via text and email before we even arrived and provided a lot of valuable advice and suggestions to plan our trip to Eugene and the surrounding area. When we arrived to the B&B it was like coming to a second home with a welcoming relative. Every detail and comfort was considered and present in advance. The estate is massive and yet homey simultaneously. Tom was a tremendous host throughtout our 3 day stay and cooked and served a delicious and fresh breakfast daily. Also charged our Tesla at no cost, told interesting stories about his home and the region, and recommended places to visit. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay a 5-star+++ experience. If all that was not enough, Tom picked berries with our 5-year old in his orchard, gave her cooking lessons, and kept her entertained while we rested. Can't recommend McKenzie Orchard Inn enough and can't thank Tom enough for his warmth and hospitality.

Right on the Siuslaw River in Old Town Florence so you can walk to restos, shops and the the beautiful marina and docks. Flowers adorned the front yard and all over the sitting porch. We were in the "Summer Room" and it had a lovely balcony were we left the door open all night for the wonderful beach breeze. Breakfast consisted of 5-courses, all house made. My husband and I were both stuffed by then end! We would definitely come here again! The only oddity was the bathroom door. We are both extremely private people and found it a bit chalenging to use the privy as the door does not go all the way to the top or bottom of the doorway.

Not mentioned in any reviews that I read prior to staying here: a mainline of the Union Pacific Railroad is just three blocks away. At least three times during the dead of night, trains came through with the horns blowing loudly at each of many crossings through this part of Eugene. Unbelievably loud!!! People living in this area must be able to tune it out, but we were NOT used to this. Because the Campbell House is up a hill from the railroad, it seems that horns can be heard unimpeded by other structures (despite the massive 18 floor Ya-Po-Ah Terrace building nearby). I would suggest wearing ear plugs during the night. Nevertheless, I would consider staying hear again if traveling on my own, but my wife would probably veto it we were both traveling. We left sleep deprived to begin our 7+ hour drive home.

The countryside on the way to sweet springs is beautifully breathtaking.  I was greeted by the hostess, Alyssa. She was very welcoming and friendly along with her dogs , pigs and a few chickens. She showed me to the chalet. The first things I noticed was how clean it was and beautifully decorated. Alyssa has thought of everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. The special touches were nice. I loved the electric fire place, make up remover cloth and I spent the morning in the fuzzy robe and slippers provided. A fresh breakfast of pancakes and  fruit were hand delivered. Absolutely delightful! My stay was quick as I was just passing through but it was wonderful and I would go back for a longer stay to check out the area and relax a little longer at the sweet springs chalet.
