He communicated directly via text and email before we even arrived and provided a lot of valuable advice and suggestions to plan our trip to Eugene and the surrounding area. When we arrived to the B&B it was like coming to a second home with a welcoming relative. Every detail and comfort was considered and present in advance. The estate is massive and yet homey simultaneously. Tom was a tremendous host throughtout our 3 day stay and cooked and served a delicious and fresh breakfast daily. Also charged our Tesla at no cost, told interesting stories about his home and the region, and recommended places to visit. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay a 5-star+++ experience. If all that was not enough, Tom picked berries with our 5-year old in his orchard, gave her cooking lessons, and kept her entertained while we rested. Can't recommend McKenzie Orchard Inn enough and can't thank Tom enough for his warmth and hospitality.

Rain during the night was so pleasant to hear pattering on the roof. Patricia and Jim are kindly hosts and we enjoyed a glass of wine and conversation with them one evening. Breakfasts were apple pancakes and sausage one morning, and a particularly delicious croissant sandwich the next. My friend and I agreed we would definitely stay here again, versus a college town hotel.

The host was great, he even had toys my kids could take to the yurt to play with. The yurt had two ac/heater units one above each bed which was perfect because my mother and I sleep at different temperatures. The beds were so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! Also, the property was very well kept and next to our yurt was an enclosed yard for the kids to play in. Ten minutes from the yurt was a beach lake where we went and spent the afternoon. It was a bit dark but we could definitely tell how cute and adorable this place was from the outside! The Victorian style architecture, the details, and the decorations around the house were phenomenal! My boyfriend was in awe of all the working sliding door hinges as they were older style - but definitely new. The breakfast was amazing - as I believe Josh cooked for us. I was stuffed! Even the breakfast service was delicious as Josh and Miriam joined us for a morning conversation as well~ The next morning, we went around the house to have a better look and you can definitely tell they put in a lot of work! Inside the living room is an old photo of how the house looked. And if you see it now - it looks exactly the same! Their yard looks amazing to have a cup of coffee/tea in and even have a little train area in the back! They also have a cat who is very friendly. (The cat is not allowed indoors FYI.) Overall, we LOVED this place and is definitely a place to stay at! This has so far been the BEST bread & breakfast place I have ever stayed at. While the facilities were admittedly dated, the beautifully maintained grounds and charming atmosphere made it worthwhile. Unfortunately, last night's visit completely destroyed those positive recollections. We checked in around 11 PM and were sent to our assigned room -- a tiny, isolated space in the attic. It was unbearably hot and steamy, with no air conditioning or adequate ventilation, despite the rest of the building being cooled. The conditions were so shocking and unsafe that we turned around immediately, left without staying, and went to find another hotel. When we raised the issue, staff simply suggested using a fan. The only way to have endured the night would have been to sleep with the door wide open to the hallway, which was obviously not a safe or reasonable option. I will never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone. The lack of basic comfort and guest care is unacceptable.

The hosts were inviting and we were able to make last-minute reservations for two nights on the weekend. The location is wonderful. Right on the Siuslaw River in Old Town Florence so you can walk to restos, shops and the the beautiful marina and docks. Flowers adorned the front yard and all over the sitting porch. We were in the "Summer Room" and it had a lovely balcony were we left the door open all night for the wonderful beach breeze. Breakfast consisted of 5-courses, all house made. My husband and I were both stuffed by then end! We would definitely come here again! The only oddity was the bathroom door. We are both extremely private people and found it a bit chalenging to use the privy as the door does not go all the way to the top or bottom of the doorway.

The countryside on the way to sweet springs is beautifully breathtaking.  I was greeted by the hostess, Alyssa. She was very welcoming and friendly along with her dogs , pigs and a few chickens. She showed me to the chalet. The first things I noticed was how clean it was and beautifully decorated. Alyssa has thought of everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. The special touches were nice. I loved the electric fire place, make up remover cloth and I spent the morning in the fuzzy robe and slippers provided. A fresh breakfast of pancakes and  fruit were hand delivered. Absolutely delightful! My stay was quick as I was just passing through but it was wonderful and I would go back for a longer stay to check out the area and relax a little longer at the sweet springs chalet. I highly recommend you check it out and book a stay!

Many of the paintings around the house are Donna's own watercolors. They go out of their way to help and ease guests quickly into the Eugene community. Donna even took me with her to a wool festival which happened to occur the weekend we visited. All this is wonderful, but on top of it are fantastic breakfasts. One morning we had waffles with a hot berry sauce, applewood smoked sausage, and fresh fruit cocktail with a splash of limoncello. We had to depart early our second morning, but Donna was up early making eggs with red sauce. Imagine gently fried eggs nestled on a bed of polenta, smothered in spiced tomato sauce and garnished with grated parmesan cheese and a dollop of pesto. We refreshed ourselves after the eggs with poached pears. It was delicious! River Walk Inn is the most comfortable, welcoming and tasty bed and breakfast in which I've ever had the pleasure to stay.

It is a beautiful place to stay! Appearance - We stayed in the Queen Anne room, which we were told is the most romantic! Our bedroom did not have a bathroom, due to how old the place is. We did know this going in, but it was still worth it because the bathtub was wonderful and we were the only ones using it that night. Taste - The 7 course breakfast was everything you would hope and dream a 7 course breakfast would be and BETTER!! The chef really curated each plate with intention alternating between savory and sweet dishes. I would recommend just staying the night so you get to enjoy the breakfast!
