Just had the lobster rolls at Yvette's. What a disappointment! Those are not real lobster rolls. Minced up tiny pieces of cold lobster do not make yummy lobster rolls. Please prepare a proper roll- either cold lobster salad with mayo, squeeze of lemon juice, salt & pepper (Maine style) or hot with butter (CT style). Also properly toast the roll. Super small fast paced place, but it's all worth it. Everything was delicious and the waitress was more than accommodating. We had the chicken salad (not too saucey and perfectly tasty), the California BLT (surprisingly came with a super yummy salad!), and the green apple and blue cheese salad where the blue cheese was subbed out for goat cheese. My new stop when in Stone Harbor, service was great and the food selection even better. I had a #12 and the focaccia bread on the sandwich was delicious. My nephew has food issues and doesn't like different foods touching each other, so when his sandwich came out with a strawberry touching his bread he wouldn't eat. The waitress quickly replaced his sandwich without any problems. Hands down the best sandwich shop I've been to in a long time. Dessert was good also. read more

Delicious, albeit pricey, sandwiches in Stone Harbor. This cute bistro is located in the back of the mini mall on 96th Street. We arrived famished after our drive to the shore and nearly everything on the menu sounded absolutely delicious. I decided on the avocado BLT served on a brioche bun. Very tasty although I was a little bit envious of my fiancé's choice of ham and gruyere with cornichons on a baguette. It was just as delicious as it sounds. Our neighbors at the next table opted for a dessert after their lunch which looked heavenly. I'd definitely stop here again for a nice sit-down lunch in Stone Harbor. read more

Yvette's Cafe is the next best thing to being in France. The freshest ingredients on delicious baguettes from Le Bus bakery combine to make the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had. And then there are the little details, like petit cornichons and delicious mustard. Don't forget the flavored iced tea and whatever desserts are available at the time. My wife and I eat here regularly. They have salad and sandwiches that are unmatched. The sandwiches are unique but good we usually get a chicken, with tomato peso on focaccia bread or a tomato with fresh mozzarella and pesto on foccica bread. The atmosphere is surprisingly cozy given the location off the main street in Stone Harbor. It has the feel of a French bistro, and the sandwiches are quite good. I had the unsweetened blueberry iced tea. My Mother-in-Law had the chicken salad sandwich which had walnuts that added to the flavor. There are not many vegan options, but there were a few salads that could serve as a lunch meal. I had the fig and walnut jelly and brie sandwich without the proscuitto on a French baguette. It was a bit sweet, but good. It is child friendly and a nice place to stop to have a solid meal when you are in Stone Harbor proper. read more

Yvette's never disappoints. I don't know where they get their bread from, but the French baguette is amazing! The grilled asparagus sandwich and Italian hoagie are our favorites. It can take 30-40 minutes for your order to be ready but it is totally worth the wait!! read more

Five stars for the food. I had an amazing sandwich with brie, organic strawberries, greens and pears. It was so refreshing and really pretty presentation. I also loved the salad with crab meat and avocado. Tons of yummy crab meat and big pieces of avocado. One of my favorite lunches ever! I subtracted a star because they said they were open 7 days a week until maybe 8 pm, but they were closed when we went at 5 pm on Sunday. There was no sign explaining an emergency or anything... maybe they should change the times on their menu/website. read more

I had pretty high expectations going into Yvette's from people I know who have been there, paired with the amazing reviews. I ordered the Cajun roast beef with blue cheese, arugula, red onions, and horseradish mayo. The meat ratio wasn't the problem, the sandwich is packed big time. But you get too many bites of just meat and then a whole bite of just arugula. It wasn't a well put together sandwich. My main critique with this sandwich is that it is yelling for some sort of sauce. Yes it has this horseradish mayo, but it's not a lot and I was needing a nice sauce to kinda bath the roast beef. Wow. This little place is a real hidden gem. Tucked away at the end of an indoor "mall", it is worth finding. They use fresh ingredients, and put them together in unbelievable flavor combinations. The staff/ownership takes great care with each plate that gets served and it shows. They also provide great value for the money. The food is so good, they could charge 15-20% more. Be prepared to wait. I read the few reviews for Yvette's before going in and my expectiations were probably too high. The bread was good and the sandwiches were above average, but the service was awful. First we had to wait 30 minutes for a table, which would have been fine if we weren't told 5 minutes when we arrived. After the long wait for a table we waited to see our waitress. She got us our drinks and split for at least another 10 minutes. I finally flagged her down and asked for her recommendation (the chicken salad). After we ordered the group of ladies next to us asked if we had to go back to college soon. I guess they had been waiting for their food as long as we had been waiting to sit down because they looked pissed. After 2 hours at Yvette's, I can't in good faith give them anything more than 3 stars despite a very good lunch. At least the company was nice. read more

Okay, you should be prepared for some amazing food. Yes, you do need to find the magic hours when there is hardly another soul in the restaurant, usually the weekdays around 4 pm. However, the reason that it may seem like a while for your food to come is because Yvette believes in quality, not quantity. I used to be treif and get the most amazing melt in your mouth italian meats sandwich on the back of the menu, but now I get tuna nicoise. Damn they are good. read more

Extremely disappointed with this establishment- walked in 20 min prior to closing and was told they were no longer open due to not having anyone in the restaurant for an hour- we only wanted a take out of two lobster rolls-the gal sweeping the floor said oh, ok then looked at the woman and man behind the counter and they both shook their heads no-one of them said we have everything clean back here- Very disappointed as to the way we were treated - lousy customer service I grew up serving ice cream- we would get rushes of 20-50 people 5 min prior to closing- of course we served them! Seeing all these great reviews, Was very excited to eat here with my wife and 3 kids. We ordered drinks right away. When it was time to order food, we notified our waitress that 2 of our kids had nut allergies. She told us that it was their policy to NOT serve people with nut allergies. This was a first for me. I can appreciate not wanting to be responsible for an anaphylactic reaction. But such an exclusive policy should be communicated to potential patrons before they sit down- possibly a sign out front or on the menu or even a message from the hostess.
