Whatever you do ... never forget to treat yourself! I did just that when I booked a Groupon for YY Beauty Spa. I got a 75 minute customized facial for less than $50!! The spa is located in a little storefront tucked away in Watchung right off of the highway and there's some parking in the back. As you walk in there's lots of products that you can purchase after your service and a little lounge area. Since I went during the middle of the day I was the only one there and was quickly taken back by one of the associates to get started. The space was clean and had nice ambiance music playing in the background. The facial was extremely relaxing as she exfoliated, used some light tool and did some extractions. My favorite part by far was the shoulder massage towards the end. It's crazy how quickly 75 minutes go by when you're in full relax mode. Can't wait for my next facial! Had a custom 75 min facial with (I believe her name was) Mia. Got it for about $60 on Groupon. Now this was my first ever facial or anything "self-care" related so I have nothing to compare it to but I loved it! I was nervous but it was a great experience from start to finish. I wish she could've done more extractions, but like I said it was my first time, I was nervous and I didn't say anything, so that's on me-- either way I was trusting her to know what was "enough" and still liked the results so can't complain! Mia was sweet and seemed to know what she is doing, and the receptionist (assuming the owner) was trying to sell me skin care products Mia recommended for my skin after the facial, which I really appreciated but unfortunately do not have the funds for, and thankfully wasn't pushy about purchasing the products once I said I couldn't afford it. Let me start off by saying I'm a masseuse snob so I may not be the best person to take advice, from. I have gotten 100+ massages from different masseuses and I'm very particular in regards to what constitutes a good massage (for me). That being said, for the average person, I think this place may be a good spot because she did hit some key muscles (without direction). For me (and my very high masseuse standards) it just didn't cut it. The masseuse did a good job with the neck muscles but she didn't massage my jaw as I was instructing her to (to provide me maximum relief) and since my jaw is my biggest problem area I walked out knowing I'm going to have to ask my husband to massage my jaw further, tonight. In addition, I love deep tissue massage and she definitely provided pressure but when you apply pressure to the wrong spot or it doesn't feel good. I had to endure that twice. When I told her to stop (because it hurt) and move on, she did. She is very good at massaging the head / neck. read more

Went there because I got a GREAT Groupon deal for chemical peel (42$) yay. It was a great experience the place is very nicely decorated and when they are doing your procedure they have the most relaxing music on. I didn't ask the name of my lady but she did a great job. I would've fallen asleep on that table lol. She let me know what she was doing before she did it and even asked if something was too cold or too warm. After the chemical peel i received a facial and she even cleaned my eyebrows up. To my pleasant surprise i got all this for forty bucks yay. Me and my best friend were planning on coming back when the UNTHINKABLE HAPPENED. While we were walking out she actually called me back and said. "Tip not included" When i couldn't understand right away she went as far as to write in down. Now I was a server for 3 years BELIEVE me i understand the importance of a tip. But under any circumstance do you ask for it.That is just plain tasteless. Honestly I would've loved to tip her 10$ or something but I really didn't have it. I mean I'm a groupon customer clearly i'm on a budget. But I did feel bad so i went into my wallet (swatted the flies away) and gave her $3. Guess what she did. HER NECK WENT BACK SO FAR AS IF SHE WAS DISGUSTED LOL. That is why I give them 3 stars. She ruined the whole experience. After two visits for my mom and I here, I can absolutely say that the facials are consistently amazing. We've had both Emily and Angie work on us and they are BOTH great at what they do. We did not request a specific facial but left it up to them to assess our skin and give us the right facial based on need. After our treatment, our skin looked and felt great. They used only quality products on our face and took their time on each of us. We bought into a series of 10 because we KNOW that we will be back regularly. BUT - I came to session on time and I already paid prior to the session because I ordered my facial on Groupon I usually only carry a credit card with me and the person who did my facial basically asked me where's the cash for the tip. I told her I was sorry and that I have no cash on me but I could use my card. I am NOT joking she went on a tangent for TEN Minutes telling me how disrespectful I was. I have been going to YY Beauty Salon for massage and facial for almost five years. The atmosphere is very relaxing (with soothing music and lighting) and clean. I found the massage therapist is very professional and knowledgeable as well. She knows how to reduce muscle tensions. Every time I feel very refreshing after a nice massage. I went on a Groupon, scheduling was easy, got in right away. The massage was ok. The kicker is, when I got home, I saw all of my body hair had fallen out where I was massaged. No arm hair, upper chest, or leg hair, nothing there where the oil had been applied. I called, spoke with 2 people there, they denied it was the oil. Definitely try YY Beauty Spa if you haven't been here before. The spa is beautifully decorated and the staff is skilled and knowledgeable. My girlfriend and I recently each bought special packages through Groupon - 3 half hour massages and a 75 minute ultrasonic facial. We came in for our first 30 minute massage not knowing what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. Linda did a wonderful job on us both, we only wish it was longer. Upon finishing our massages we immediately made appts to come back for our facial. Our ultrasonic facial was fantastic, people commented on how glowing my skin was after the facial. Kudos to Nancy! I paid online but when i got there they told me i had to pay tax on both of us. Dont recall my massage therapist name however it was a group of 5 of us and we all loved our therapists equally so they are all equally worth your visit. Later received a Vitamin C facial with Angie, and that was the BEST facial I've gotten. My skin was literally as soft and supple as a baby's bottom. I've been trying to find a place for a decent back massage and finally did. Every time I go to a place with a knot in my neck, I get a full body massage with little focus on the problem. I suffer from scoliosis and acne and eczema so I come here frequently. I always walk out of here free of back pain and with my skin glowing and under control (not an easy task for my troublesome skin). They also offer you tea at the end and if you ask for advice on products to buy, they are super smart about what will work for your particular area of concern.
