In addition to having candy from other countries, they also have chips, pretzels, popcorn, and drinks. There's also a gluten-free and vegan area. I forgot to mention, they have special treats that you can buy for your dogs! Outside of food items, they also sell basic clothing, such as T-shirts, shorts, and leggings. This seems to be a great addition to the community and prices were affordable. What you find in here, you will not find anywhere else in this area.

There are consistent vendors that sell every week and some that are new who sell every other week or every two weeks. This keeps things exciting and you can look forward to seeing new foods. This past week I was lucky to try Kikitos Jibaritos, a Puerto Rican sandwich vendor, and it's a must try if you spot them at the market! Some vendors accept both cash and card payments and a few only take cash. I recommend bringing both! Also, bring your own bags! There were a few vendors that didn't offer bags. Another tip: bring water or something to drink. I believe there was only one or two vendors that sold drinks. Bathrooms are also available for vendors and not to the public. Parking is also very hard to find so come early! The market is from 9am to 2pm.

When I first walked in the store, I was a little put off because I thought it was just a fruit…read moremarket. To my pleasant surprise, there was a lot of different things that you could buy there, and it saved me from going to the supermarket. Some things are overpriced such as minced garlic from Goya. They wanted almost 7 dollars for it, but the vegetables were priced low and they looked good even though there wasn't a huge selection like but that was just because my expectation was that it was just a fruit vegetable market. Apparently this store has changed hands since the last time I went there. I was excited at the prospect of being able to go here and shop locally for small business owners and with it being less than a half a mile away from my mom's house my goal was to go there and get lettuce, but I wind up getting a number of things That I needed from the supermarket and so when I left there, I felt satisfied. When I got home, there was a whole different story. I bought red leaf lettuce, which was rotten to the core on the inside. I had to throw it out. I also bought Romain lettuce, which was mostly the darker green leaves and less of the crisp part of the lettuce, which disappointed me a little, but I figured I could still make do I washed and cut up the lettuce and I used the pre-cut onions, celery, and carrots that I bought also from this fruit market. And I made my salad. When I was eating it, I didn't really notice anything except that the leaves were not really what I like. I don't love all Bert green leaves found at the top. But whatever. I ate it. An hour later and for five hours more, I was sick as a dog. I had to take two different stomach medicines, and Tums because something in that salad did not agree with me and then I start freaking out because the first one that I threw away was rotten so it made me feel like this lettuce wasn't that fresh or maybe it was the pre-chopped onion, celery or carrots. All I know is that I almost called out of work today. Luckily, I felt better when I got up, even though I have still have a little bit of a stomachache I called them this morning and told them that the red leaf lettuce is rotten and they need to take it off the shelves and I told the lady that I was really sick last night. She was so nonchalant about it and said OK and we hung up. I don't love that. She should've said come and get a different head of lettuce, but she didn't offer anything. And therefore, I waited till I got home from work to write this review. Unfortunately, I will not be going back here again. I usually go to Rahway Farmers Market and I don't think I've ever had this issue. I didn't take a picture of it, but I should have. Because when I tell you that the red leaf lettuce head was slimy and rotten on the inside to the point that it should've never been put on the shelf.

The space was pretty big and sight lines & sound were really good. One big downside is that they list, but don't link to / sell tickets for their events online. I called the week of the show to ask @ tickets and the woman who answered didn't know about the show & had to check. She came back & told me when the doors opened & when the music started but when I got there I saw a sign saying "SOLD OUT" - no tix unless you had already them or were on the Guest List. Super lame & had I not snuck in I would have been super bummed after driving an hour & 45 minutes to see this show!
