First time at Z Pub. Really nice interior. Clean and good atmosphere. Our Waiter/Bartender was really nice. I got the Hot Turkey Sandwich and it was pretty good. Was basically like eating Thanksgiving Dinner in a plate. My Date got the Club Sandwich and she said it was also really good. We split an order of the Mac N Cheese (with Bacon) and it was also really good. I would probably stop back here again. This was on a Sunday night so it was not very crowded. Well after not going there since May, my better half and I tried again and last week and this week everything was Good. Today we had a super waitress, name Angie and she was so nice. Better half had gyro salad,great and I went for the turkey dinner.....It was Super. Had lots of turkey,waitress even told me I could get something else besides stuffing,which in two yrs of going there,no one ever said that,so I did,got the mixed veggies,they were hot and not mushy,a plus for sure. I have been to this place many times over the past few months. Food is always good, great fries, burgers and chipotle chicken sandwich is now my favorite! Only issue I have is the lack of ice cream to go with the excellent apple pie for dessert! read more

After visiting z pubs this evening I was very disappointed after previous visits. Quality of mixed drinks and food came way down on a scale from 5 to 1. Fountain mixes taste like chlorine and fries were dry and tasteless. I had better burgers cooking them at home. I don't go out much and look forward to eating out and a good burger and drink. Had to pay for a very disappointing meal. I was approached by owner and gave my opinion and she left and never came back out of the kitchen. Needless to say, unless I stop in for a bottle of beer i won't be going back. A bottle of beer can be bought in other establishments. read more

Great experience yesterday evening! Our server Kaine was an absolute delight, prompt quick service and very attentive! Kaine was well groomed and polite, she took our drink orders and even made suggestions from the menu and it was a great experience. I am glad to have given Z-Pub a chance on clean slate and was not let down in the slightest. Clean restaurant, delicious food & cold refreshing brews! P.S.: if you are stumped by the variety from the menu. You can't go wrong with the grape leaves, a works burger (Med-Rare) and a nice pint of Guinness. P.P.S.: The fries were warm but not "fresh hot" I'm not sure if the type of fries is what dissipates heat quickly but if i had to be picky that was my only gripe. Eat here last Friday. Place was packed. Waited 10 mins for a seat. They had a great system that texted you when your table was ready. You could also see how many people where in front of you on the wait list and an estimate on how long before you got seated. The service was great as was the food. Price was right as well. Apps ordered wings and double dip (beer cheese and humus). The amount of dip you get vs the amount of pita is very disproportionate (see photograph). Sandwiches were meatball hoagie, burger and French onion grilled cheese Food is pretty good but our server is nice but probably not the best fit for this place. He didn't offer the beer draft menu or bottle menu at all nor did he explain any specials and was unable to upsell or offer special sides that we wanted. He doesn't seem to have the server skills to be working in a craft beer place where most servers assess the general interests of the beer drinker and help them find a good beer The food was good and I would eat here again. I would hope I had a server that made his the experience it should be. There seemed to be a lot of people wondering around from the kitchen to the dining area often which was odd. The restrooms are that way too but there were times many people would come out and chat and return back. It was just odd. The area is also an exit but leads to kitchen and restrooms. Just seemed like a lot of young workers and friends socializing. We are a family easy to upsell and we value good beer choices and suggestions. So disappointed! Our server Stephanie was never around!! Only to quickly toss the check on our dirty table n disappear! Desserts were never offered.... Dirty appetizer plates were never cleared and water was never brought even though we asked several times. My buffalo chicken wrap was drenched in nothing but Frank's Red Hot n dripping with grease. Two bites were about all I could take.... Also our appetizer of zucchini fries were also soaked in grease. So disappointed in how this place has gone down hill. We've been here three times so I feel comfortable with this review. Might give it 2.5 stars if I had the option. We've tried several things on the menu and the only things we've ever really been impressed with are the jumbo cod sandwich and the onion rings. The rest of the food I'd say (that we have tried) has been unimpressive at best. The most recent disappointment was to order an entrée of scallops from the specials menu and have them come in a tiny dish (like a side) and the main entrée on the plate be mashed potatoes and onion rings (see photos). I have had a steak salad and upgraded 3 dollars to get beef tips. Still, the salad was pretty sad. Tomatoes were past their freshness, although they did try to add a few nice greens in with the iceberg. What has brought us back there three times? My husband loves their jumbo cod sandwich! I agree! Second visit with me and wife no kids. This time had Philly cheese steak. Which was excellent the bread was fresh and buttery, the beef cheese onions and peppers complemented each other perfect. Had the fries and washed it all down with a bottle of Heineken excellent. My wife got the buffalo chicken salad which had the perfect ratio of toppings to lettuce. I am very. A little loud for family dining, more of a beer and wings after work with friends kind of place, but that didn't stop me from having a steak there with my son. We used to really like this place! We've given them way too many chances to redeem themselves, with no avail! Food is decent, but they changed menu & tweaked or took away several of the good dishes. 9 out of 10 times they bring our app out WITH our meal! Every time, we ask for a manager & they give us discount or remake food. Drinks are just meh, & a bit pricey. Servers & management have almost always been great. Kitchen staff, not so much! Not a lot of places to get a good meal in the "Valley" & now 1 less on our list!! read more

I went here on a Saturday at 6pm. It was busy but not packed to the point of uncomfortable. There was room to walk and you could eat without feeling jammed into a small place. The place is really nicely done. Has modern decor and very clean. The staff was over the top helpful and nice! My great aunt needed a lighter and one of the bartenders looked all over the restaurant and into the beer shop for one for her.. He was so nice about it. Our waitress was right on top of everything, and we had a party of 11 so she was busy, but polite and extremely familiar with the menu. I was very impressed with the staff to say the least. Wish it was closer to home, I would be a regular here no doubt! The food was about as good as it gets. My daughter and I split chicken fingers for appetizers. They were made from fresh chicken and hand breaded made to order. They were by far the best we have had, and being a parent you eat a lot of chicken fingers! LOL Then we had the fish sandwich. It was very good as well. The bun to the fish sandwich was actually the size of the fish itself. So it was probably around 10 inches long. We were very full even know we split it. The fries were very very good!! I am not a fry eater, but these things were so good that my sister and I were really thinking about ordering extras after we got our food. I don't know what exactly made them great, but they were awesome! Every person that was with us was blown away with their food.. Like I said there was 11 of us, and everyone was impressed. My mother is very frugal and she was extremely pleased with the prices. I am more of a quality person, and the quality of the food was impressive. I also don't like taking my daughter to bar type restaurants because of the possibility of drunken unruly patrons, but this wasn't even a thought while we were there. So all and all this is without a question a 5 star place for me and my family, ages ranging from 86 to 13! :) read more

I'm so proud to have this place in Chippewa 'cause we need new blood up in here! This used to be an athletic club and is spacious as hell. I came here with Darren, my brother, and his girlfriend recently and was amazed. The Margarita Pancakes come in a margarita class and are topped with a cream that is out of this world! Been there 4 times, the food is probably the best in the Chippewa but that is not saying much. The service was hit or miss. The staff was polite but untrained, they have no idea about service. They asked one of my kids to hand them their plate and then ask them to put utensils on the plate. My young son knew better, he asked them why is my daddy paying you if i have to do work and asked me for the waiters tip. It was pretty funny but sad. Also on two separate occasions the appetizers came with the entrées. Unfortunately because of the plate/utensil incident we aren't going back to Z Pub...It's a shame the place had promise. MESSAGE TO Z's MANAGER: I'm a regular at Zs pub. I'd like to point out a few things to the management where in my opinion they need to improve to continue to be be successful as I'd hate to see your business fail. Usually the burgers are really good. The wait staff ask what temp you want your burger at, which I appreciate, as at a clean place I'll order a burger medium rare. The other day I had a really disappointing burger here, I order the "works" burger. It came out like I've never seen it before, on an oversized bun, with raw (not sautéed mushrooms), no sauce of any kind, and the burger was well passed "well done, and very dry. It was actually charred black on one side. I'm not one to send food back, or somebody that has time to wait for another meal, so I tried to eat it. Not good. It made a little sense when a young scruffy guy came out of the kitchen to get a drink, and he looked pretty hungover. A change in kitchen staff is what I assume was the problem, as the food is usually pretty good. Z's: Please work on your consistency Another thing I've been troubled about is the fish sandwich Z's serves. (Yes it is a nice piece of fish, and fairly priced) It apparently ONLY comes panko coated, and the sandwich comes as only fish and bread with tartar or cocktail sauce. I've ordered this multiple times and I've been craving some veg on this sandwich. Some fresh lettuce, tomato, or homemade pickles would make it SO much better. Also, the piece of fish is fried, great, but apparently it is Impossible to get it "beer-battered". I know this because I've asked many times. No restaurant close to Chippewa, PA serves a good beer battered fish.(sometimes my family drives to a place 1 hour away to get good beer battered cod) It doesn't make sense that a restaurant that doubles and a 6 pack shop/craft beer focused establishment would not offer a killer beer batter. This would set you apart. I think customers would love to see that, thank you. read more

I was told that they have the best steak salads and it's true. Some friends had complained of poor service but I have never had a complaint yet. If I had any complaints it would be bout the six pack shop which is a separate department but has the same owner. They always seem to be closed at the six pack shop, but even when " open " there may or not be anyone working. read more

The food is AMAZING! Great service, staff is friendly & the food comes out fast! I was very impressed! I got fried cheese, they use provolone & pepper jack-- made fresh in house-- soo good! We also got gyro salads & they were delish! So much meat & the meat was excellent! If you haven't tried this place yet, you must go here! Went here for my birthday this past week upon a friend's suggestion. It was a great local place. We were a party of 4 and were well taken care of. Decent alcohol selection( I am a vodka snob so very few places have my brands), decent beer selection and large menu. We ordered the following: * Beer cheese with pita's for an appy- was decent but not as good as Penn Brewery. this was a more white and creamy based, but overall a good flavor. * Baked Cod- I am not a big fan of fish but this was good * Potato Pancakes- everyone loved these. * Mac N Cheese( our waitresses fav) was also quite good and you could tell was home made. * Gyro- as good as they say.. the cucumber sauce was great and the meat was high quality. * Hot n Spicy Burger.. great flavor and cooked the way it was ordered. The place itself is open and welcoming. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I think it will be a good place to visit. I wish this local place lots of success! read more
