I usually just ask him to make me some kind of breakfast sandwich, chefs choice, and he hasn't disappointed me yet. Sheboygan has some incredible coffee shops (im not talking staryucks) - but this one is a gem that has it all. It is unassuming when driving by, but today I stopped and truly, the interaction made my whole day. I asked for an iced mocha and Travis acknowledged it being my first visit & offered up their special drinks of the month. I appreciate service that digs a little deeper & expresses sense of humor. After mentioning all the wonderful reviews being the reason I stopped, he welcomed me inside to have a breakfast sandwich. The ambiance is very cozy, people were playing cards, music was on, it was clean and welcoming. My food was both generous & delicious, coffee was perfect - excited to go back for their specials. I brought it all down to the lakefront and a few people stopped to ask where I scored such a great breakfast. 100% worth the visit. Z-spot is an unassuming little coffee stop that serves up great eats and drinks. We were driving by and saw a sign promising "hot ham sandwiches" and made a u-turn. Because of this COVID business it's drive thru only right now but the line moved quickly. The Mister had a Hawaiian Dream smoothie which tasted like vacation and wasn't overly sweet. I had a very nice iced tea, and of course we both said yes to those ham sams. Don't pass these up! It's Miesfeld's locally made ham, Swiss, a bit of olive oil and Italian seasoning served up on a perfectly toasted Sheboygan hard roll. Absolutely perfect. I especially liked that some of the ham end was a little charred for an extra bit of flavor. One of the best unexpected sandwich stops in a while! Always here at the Z Spot. Love this place. Owner is super nice and friendly and drinks are always strong with 2 shots of espresso. Been coming here a lot for the ghirardelli frappes in both dark and white chocolate, but I also love their other drinks. Service is always amazing and even above and beyond. I came once a few minutes passed closing time during COVID and the owner was nice enough to offer hot tea or hot chocolate since it was raining that day. I politely declined and wanted to come back during store hours so I can pay for my drink. But I thought that was the most amazing service (my fault for not looking at the time). We got fabulous strong coffee, delicious Mexican spiced mocha, very good breakfast sandwiches on crusty rolls with fresh avocado and hot sauce, and a cup of just-made tomato bisque which is a great breakfast option, BTW! I was visiting Sheboygan and went for a walk off of South pier, on Indiana St. Saw this coffee shop and decided to stop by for a coffee or snack. There was a sign on the door that said "lobby closed", but I saw people inside reading the paper and having coffee. So, I decide to take a leap of faith and walk in. I politely ask if the lobby is actually closed, and suddenly barista bro rudely exclaims "we're closed" and follows me out and locks the door behind me. I really needed some extra coffee today, so happy to find the Z-Spot open this morning! Of course, with coffee, you need something tasty to eat. So, my husband tried their mixed berry scone, and he thought it was really great! My craving for a scone was subdued when I spotted an absolutely a huge coconut muffin! Coconut is a weakness of mine. So, I ordered but only ate about 1/2. It was more of a Pineapple/Coconut flavor (Pina Colada ?) It was good, but not great! As they say in Weight Watchers--not point worthy. Great local coffee shop. I had their "angry pumpkin," which was their drink special for the day and my husband had a hot chocolate. Both were made quickly and put into festive mugs for us to enjoy in their spacious seating area. They had plenty of seating options from couches to chairs. They even have a drive through if you do not want to get out of your car. Prices were reasonable and the staff went above and beyond to make your short visit enjoyable. We spoke to both the owner and the owners son. They made a point to make a brief connection with us and get to know us. When the owner realized we were visiting he provided us with a list of recommendations for places to eat around town and took time to talk with us about different things to do in town. If you are visiting the area this should be your first stop to get your trip started off right! read more

I grew up in Sheboygan but have lived in San Francisco for the past 20 yrs ... a land chock full of hip cool coffee houses. Z spot is my favorite coffee (and they even have wine and beer now - awesome for evening hanging out) place in Sheboygan and despite the high prices, it's understandable given it's a business and doesn't have a huge traffic pattern due to the population and demographics of Sheboygan. Support this place! I agree with the guy who said it's like a NY or SF cafe plunked down in this small provincial town. .... a really cool environment, nice lighting, couches, a little private nook, GREAT strong fresh coffee (& I'm a coffee snob) and simple but great tasting nibbles (love the greek spinakopita - spinach pie) ... very comfy seating, free internet with plugs in a number of places, and I've NEVER felt rushed out. I've been there dozens of times and through the drive in many times each visit and have always had friendly service, mostly from the owner. Sometimes the young service staff could use a bit of coaching about service essentials ... such as acknowledging people when they come in the door, and doing things a bit faster and coordinating orders for several people at once. I've been there when they've had live music and have been impressed. I hope this place can stay alive, such a great oasis in this small town with few really cool spots to hang early morning to evening. read more

Go for the coffee - not the food. Coffee is delicious - I always have the Italian roast. The only featured sandwich was a hot ham on a roll. It was wimpy - not much meat, and didn't satisfy. As always, the ambiance is "coffee-house" nice. Also, plenty of parking. read more

- Here's the deal. I have absolutely no incentive for saying this or any flag in the fight. However. I refuse to allow claims of discrimination against the Z-Spot to go unrepudiated. I was floored to read such a review blasting the Z-Spot, (found on Google reviews, search "Z-Spot reviews"). - The reviewer called the barista a racist. Apparently, because he (the barista) asked 3 young females of Asian ethnicity to leave the store. I was actually around to watch this happen, and was blown away when I came across the review, some two weeks later. The girls (or women) had not purchased anything, but were all set up with their laptops, and were chattering away for at least 20 minutes prior to being approached. I didn't hear the exchange, but was aware of the situation since it was a slow night. - So when they're asked to leave for loitering, then the barista's automatically a racist? Good thing there's more than one review site on the Internet. (Yelp is far more respected than Google's reviews, and thus, my reason for coming here instead of the source to set it straight.) I remember when I was a manager at a pizza shop in Mpls, when I called out a prankster for trying to get free food, then I was called racist. I know the tactic. - Most readers of that review will prob pick up on this right away, as it's unlikely that there is a secret KKKlanner working at a coffee shop in Sheboygan. Nonetheless it was important to me personally, to make an attempt to ensure Yelp readers are not swayed.
