Randomly stopped here while waiting at the walk in clinic and really happy that I did. A very cute joint with a lot of Japanese options. I had the matcha cream croissant and the croissant was crisp and flaky, and it was nicely sweet. They also have croffles! (Croissant waffles) The decor makes a very pleasant place to stay for awhile. Free wifi as well.
We've been seeing Z3 Specialty Coffee coming up in our Yelp zone for a couple of days now, so last night on the way home, we decided to zone in on it, find it, go in and take a look around, and above all, try their coffee! They are advertising themselves on their website as "The First Japanese Coffee House in Ottawa". They are probably right! One thing you will noticed right off the bat is that they are open LONG hours! Another thing: being based in this particular plaza - the Kanata Town Centre - they offer plenty of parking. You might find it a tad hard to find at first, but trust me - it IS there! It's in the same plaza as the new Mandarin Restaurant, and the Food Basics. The buses used to leave Kanata from here, heading farther afield (ie: I'm referring to the Greyhoud buses, going to Toronto etc.), although I'm not certain that they still leave from here. It's a decent sized shop, with plenty of room to sit for a while. (I'm thinking of my knitting group get-togethers!) They grind your beans fresh, and make fancy coffees, like pour-overs. This place very much reminded me of "Platform 7" in Vancouver. There's lots of excitement! It's very different than what we are used to here in Ottawa. We ordered a Latte for me, and an American for the hubster. The coffee was maybe a little stronger than the competition, but it was really good! I'm looking forward to going back.
This adorable Asian style cafe is hidden in the suburbs of Kanata but it's actually amazing! The outside/signage is quite deceiving, leading me to not discover it sooner. The interior is tastefully decorated and features a "picnic" section complete with picnic style tables on artificial grass. There are beautiful paintings of Sakura trees on the walls and the space feels open and fresh! The Japanese music adds a very nice touch as well. According to the website, staying is encouraged and there is wifi and many power outlets to support this claim. The menu features a wide assortment of drinks including items such as fruit soda that can often be different to find. The Sakura tea I ordered came in a super cute glass cat mug, perfectly matching their kitty coasters. The owners are also super nice and helpful. Overall it's just a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
We discovered this little hidden cafe in Kanata few weeks ago, I get super excited when new cafes open in the west end, especially if they open late and got some nice desserts! Decor is very cute, they have a big painted cherry blossom and little baskets as if you are in the forest and having a picnic. Service was excellent very nice and knowledgable and really kind. I got a rose tea which was sweet and different . We also shared a yummy strawberry bubble waffle. They also have a whole fridge full with Pokémon soft drinks, which made my son super excited to drink them all! I can't wait to come in the morning so I can try their speciality coffee.
Very cute and demure café with a cozy and unique vibe! Though seating is quite limited to half of the store, it's still a peaceful sitting environment. From the beautifully decorated walls with cherry blossom paintings to the owner's very own toy collection (which im incredibly jealous of), my inner child was satisfied! They have very special tasty drinks and food on their menu. The bubble egg waffles are made fresh and slightly warm, pairing well with the cold scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle. The smoked salmon also was not fishy whatsoever and OUUU don't get me started on the deluxe chicken waffle sandwich. It was our first time trying it and we thought the chicken would we wrapped in an egg waffles shell, but surprise! They added a very warm and soft bread ON TOP of the egg waffle. Tbh i'm usually not the biggest fan of plain white bread and was afraid that it'll be stale or chewy, but I'm gonna hold your hand when I say this- it was literal perfection. Beyond the soft chicken, inside the sandwich has pickles, lettuce, and mayonnaise. The dirty coffee was also so YUM, but it can be pretty heavy. It's sweet from all the chocolate drizzle and slight cream on the top, but pairs well with the coffee at the bottom- just make sure that after you take the first sip, to stir well! But warning- might not be ideal for those who are black coffee fanatics and don't have the biggest sweet tooth! read more

Cute little Japanese cafe in the suburb of Kanata, lol. I dropped by and got a Passionfruit Yakult Soda ($4.39) and it was great, albeit a bit too sweet for my liking. The inside of the cafe is super cute and staff were nice. They had some cakes, but they looked expensive to me, like $9.50 a slice. There was a sign that said they serve sandwiches too. This would be a really nice place to catch up with friends or for a date, when this dreadful Covid-19 Pandemic finally ends. At the time of my visit we were still in lockdown so there was no dining in, they were open strictly for takeout. They are located in the Kanata Town Centre. It's where the Food Basics is and the Mandarin Restaurant. Lots of free parking. read more

This is a fabulous coffee shop at kanata area. They carry a range of exceptionally tasteful drinks from Japan. We had a Dirty Coffee and a Sakura Soda, all super delicious. The environment is charming and the owner is very friendly. Well worth a visit! read more
