Prior to having our flooring installed, I had asked Ed twice, if they have installed Luxury Vinyl…read morePlank before. Only after to find out after they damaged our flooring, that they were fairly new to it. There are MANY places where only one side of the plank is completely locked in. This flooring is only waterproof if fitted correctly together. Then in some spots they hit in too hard, and it is bowing up, and eventually will more than likely pop out of the locking mechanism. They DID NOT prep the subfloor well, so there are pieces of something popping through our new flooring in MULTIPLE places throughout our home. One room they didn't finish putting flooring in the corner of the room. In the kitchen, they didn't run the flooring far enough under the cabinets, so there is a gap between the cabinet kick board and the rest of the flooring. I told him that our sub flooring is harder to find, and he told me it he would get it. He replaced a piece of subfloor in our living room, with a weaker form of wood...thus causing the wood to flex when you walk on it and broke off the locking mechanisms on the LVP flooring causing about a 12+ inch crack in the flooring, and it continues to get larger. This flooring has a 25 year warranty if installed correctly, and due to this companies negligence it started coming apart after a month. Ed tried to talk his way around it throughout the entire thing, trying to find other reasons to blame this on, instead of taking responsibility for his company's poor installation and neglegence . He has tried blaming the flooring, and the fact other people were working on the house at the same time, but NEVER once did he say "get everything done and we will come back and do the flooring". He also tried to blame the subfloor that was "bad", and the subfloor is not bad, there is one area that is not level, and we have no problems at this point in that area. All of the problems we are having with the floor is because of his NEGLIGENCE in prepping the sub flooring, and installing the wrong sub flooring. And only after he contacted the manufacturer did he realize that they missed some CRUCIAL steps in the installation process. He was barely here through the entire floor being laid, but is quick to blame everyone else for why it is not right. He stated "I know there were mistakes made on our part when installing the floor." after he contacted SHAW. Also, one of his employees was throwing full pieces of flooring away, if they cut a little piece out of it. He didn't "know" to use it for cut pieces, showing he sent someone that was very inexperienced. He complained about how much money he was waiting on from other jobs at the time, and had invested in the job ($1800) wanted $3200, and fails to realize it is a lot less than the $5000 +/- we have in the flooring. Not including the amount we will have to pay to have the base boards re-installed, filled, and painted...as well as any damage to the walls when they remove the base boards. I did not pay for their poor installation/workmanship, but also am at a loss for the large amount of flooring that is damaged from this. I tried to work with him on this, asking for him to pay for the flooring that they damaged, and he denied to do so because I did not have to pay for the installation. Would you pay for poor installation and flooring that is coming apart and has holes from things popping through the bottom of it? He claims, but the last time I spoke to him his last comment was to talk to the insurance or my lawyer to sue him, just let him know what I was going to do. Unfortunately, his insurance policy does not have coverage for poor workmanship (what his insurance called the work he did). I don't want anything, other than our flooring that was damaged by his company to be replaced (we would pay for someone else to install it), so it will withstand years, instead of already failing a few months after installation.

Hauberk was by far the best quote we received and we couldn't be more pleased. Ed is personable and professional and we've hired him to do some additional work at our home.
