Honestly it's been a love hate relationship between this guys and I. Definitely in my experience their costumer service it's a mess, not the best communication . I left my car for warranty with them and went I got it back a lot of my stuff was gone and even tho I asked nobody knew anything and management didn't seem to care a little bit. I got a Groupon to get an oil change from this place with my boyfriend. They took over an hour and a half to change his oil and then the next day his car was smoking and oil was leaking all under and pouring out of the oil pan. We've called them all morning to get them to come get this fixed and they keep not giving us an answer on what they're going to do. Don't go here! Update: turns out they didn't put the drain plug in! They told us to plug it back up and put oil in it and take it to them to fix it! No! How about you tow it and fix it or just give me a refund!? If I could give 0 stars I would. They have NO respect for other people's time. I called the day before to make an appointment at the earliest time. My appointment was for 9am I arrived at 8:45am. I was the first and only customer there. I expected to wait a few mins since I was early. I ended up waiting OVER an HOUR and was never seen. I asked the person in charge twice how long it would be and he kept saying it would be only a few minutes. I decided to leave after waiting in my car for over an hour and having an associate come to me to ask WHY I was waiting in the car and to drive up so he could take care of me! Not Reliable Not responsive Not quality work Buyer beware! If your money, time, and sanity is valuable, please do not go here to get car repairs. Trust me when I say that the fraud, deceptive trade practices, and double-talk you will receive from Mohammed "mike" and Gilbert will make your head spin. When you try to clarify their conflicting terms, they will collectively mock you. They say their cars are warrantied for 3 months/3000 miles, but they will not honor this. Any work they provide you will be slipshod, take too much time, and will leave you in a car that is not roadworthy, illegal, and unsafe. We are pursuing legal action. We are out $11,000 for a $6,999 car with no title, registration, or inspections receipts to show for any of it. We have complained to the State Attorney General, the Houston Police Department, and the Texas Department of Safety. We are trying to get our tags and title ourselves but are having a very difficult time. They said they fixed the AC, they didn't. Most of the things promised to us ended up being missing or broken and they still have not repaired them despite the 1 month 1000 mile warranty they promised (in spite of their documented 3 month, 3000 mile warranty). Also, Mohammed and his "family" are known to post their own fraudulent good reviews of All Star/Garden Auto Sales/Zack Collision and Repair (they go by all 3 names). I went in for a state inspection that I got at a great deal on Groupon for only $11-$12. It never happened. When I finally arrived after getting lost in that shady area, I was told they were booked till Friday and they were locked down today. I had just called them, and was told to come on in, but there was no one at the office once I arrived. What a waste of my time! I ended up going to Christian Brothers, who are more reliable. Used a Groupon but little did I know they use that to get you in the doors and get you to pay for more than what you originally asked for. Mike was misleading and not sure about mechanic work at all. I paid $2800 dollars to get my valve cover gasket and a couple of services as well. 9 months later I came to let him know my engine light came back, he responded in a very condescending and rude manner. Denied that anything was wrong with the car and refused to honor the warranty. He refused to fix the issue and later blamed it on a different part for an oil leak. I later took it to another mechanic for an accurate evaluation and diagnosis of the car, they later advised that my gasket was never touched. This led me to pay another $1k after the fact. When I showed up at the shop, mike talked to me as if I was a delusion and had no idea what I was saying. he couldn't even do the needful to at least show me where the leak was. Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you're a woman. You'll be used instantly, no questions asked. There are better places on the market. read more

While searching Groupon for a good deal on an oil change, I came across Zak's for $23. I called and lucky for me (or so I thought) they were able to take me same day. The person I spoke to asked me not to purchase through Groupon and they would honor the price. I arrived and started the process. The mechanic showed me the air filters and told me I needed to change them. I asked how much he told me that Mohammad in the office would let me know. I went back inside and was told one filter was another $20+ and the other $30+ and he was gonna check the exact price. As I waited for him to check I got online and found the filters at an auto parts for $8.99. I called my brother and he said he could change them. So when Mohammad finally came back I asked him the price for the filters and he tells me $21 for one and $20+ for the other. I told him I did not want to do it as I could just get them cheaper at the auto part store. He told me they had already done it and he would be charging me $15 additional per filter for labor. He then tried to explain how their filters were premium filters with a lifetime warranty etc etc. Which is wonderful and all but NOT what I went in for, not what I asked for, and absolutely not what I authorized them to do. At no point during our conversation did I authorize them to change the filters. I was never presented with an estimate and I definitely did not sign anything authorizing these extra charges. He originally tried to charge me $94 but when he saw I was unhappy he removed one of the $15 charges to change the filter and lowered the price on one of the filters. When I told him I was extremely unhappy he offered to refund me my money but I declined because I was just so upset I wanted to leave. If I consent to get a service done then I understand I am responsible for paying it. However, they did all the work WITHOUT MY CONSENT so in a way forcing me to pay for things I did not want or authorize. After getting home a reviewing the receipt, I realized they added insult to injury. I was actually charged $27.50 for the oil change instead of the agreed price of $23. At this point I called the location and asked why I was charged more. He stated it was "fees". However, no-where on the receipt does it state the additional charges are for "fees". I asked him to go ahead and process the refund he offered and he said he would not. I went on Groupon specifically to pay about $20 for an oil change and I ended up having to pay more than $80. The business practices of this establishment are disgraceful. They force products and services on their customers which is immoral and has to be illegal. read more

I am a big Groupon using and found Zak's ad about getting a flush on my V6 Ram single cab Ram truck. I called and they took my vehicle description and name. They said only $61 for the service using the groupon discount. When I arrived they wanted $160 and tried to tell me my vehicle needed other repairs to the tune of $440. They are as shady as it comes. They were very rude about the entire situation and literally called my employee a "cheap a**". Be careful about letting them touch your vehicle they are the shady repair people you parents warned you about. read more

I would only recommend this place if you want to be cheated out of your money. I got a groupon for breaks for this place trying to find a mechanic close to home only to be reminded people are crooks. 1. I took my car to a Mitsubishi dealership and had EVERYTHING checked out on my car. Was told the ONLY issue they found was the front break pads needed to be replaced. I was looking for a new mechanic by my home so I bought a groupon to zack's auto so I could try them out. 2. I will admit I dont know everything about cars, but I know enough to know when I am getting ripped off. 3. I went in & told them I knew the only thing I needed was new pads on the front of my car & that was all I wanted. He kept telling me we will see. (He was a nice enough guy but has an issue being honest about what really needs to be done on your car.) After a few minutes he comes in & tells me that my rotors are bad & that he is unable to honor the groupon for the breaks because I need a special kind of break & it was going to cost me $20 more. ( breaks at mid price for my car where right at $47 plus tax which still would have left him a small profit).Then he starts telling me how unsafe it is to be driving around without replacing everything. Trying to scare me into doing the work. When I refused to pay more or get any other services he comes back with now I have to pay a service fee (which is illegal if not told before you do anything to a customers car) & charged me around $57 or he would not put my tires back on. Where to even begin. First off, the sell cars through "All Star Motors" so it's the same place. Not only did they sell me a car that they rolled back miles on ( I know cuz I bought the car fax that they purchased at auction), it had so many problems. They lied to me about the oil leak in my truck Said it was a quick little 100$ dollar repair. It was a rear main seal leak. Try 1500$. (I spent 4000$ total at another REAL shop) Had to get all new breaks, tires, engine mounts. I could go on and on It also took 7 months to get my plates. Unbelievable. Over the course of the next 7 months after purchasing my truck, I was there probably 20 times. Why would anyone need to go back to a place they purchased a car that many times. Poor experience. I went to get an oil change, tire rotation, and state inspection that I purchased on groupon. This was my second time at the store, and have had no work done since my last time there. I made a 4:30 appointment days prior, and was there until 6:15. For very routine stuff. We realize that the lug key is missing and they can't rotate my tires. I suspect that they lost my lug key last time I was there, and ask if they can do anything for me. The manager becomes confrontational, then pretends as if he's doing me a favor by not charging me $13 for "shop materials" beyond the groupon price. And says that if I buy a new lug kit (at a price I know is too expensive) he won't charge me labor. Now I'm having to call dealerships to pick up the key somewhere else. And I'll rotate my tires myself to avoid having to go back there, even though it would be free. I don't trust them to take less than an hour or actually honor their commitment. I went to get my windshield, roof, hood and two fenders fixed on my mustang from here. WORST experience I've ever had with a shop nothing short of a SCAM!! I addressed to the owners that I needed to be done in a timely fashion and they told me that's okay and that they will get it done right and on time. When they called and told me it was done the first time I came to look at the car and the work was TERRIBLE. Paint had drip marks there was parts they didn't even polish my insurance payed to get whole roof to repainted and they only repainted a section of it my insurance payed to get hood repainted they didn't even touch it so I complained and they said they would make it right and fix all there mistakes so I trusted them and let them have it for another week. I come back the next week and again paint drip makes on the fender the hood is not matched with the rest of the car and they wouldn't repaint it to match the rest because "insurance" wouldn't pay for it. To my understanding they should back there work and fix there mistakes properly. Needless to say all the scratches and paint chips my car came back that wasn't there before!!! They also claim to be a detailing company as well but left swirls all over my brand NEW paint! There work is laughable there customer service is terrible and there work ethic is disgusting. I would stay clear of this place by all means. And if by chance you have the unfortunate circumstance you have to go here bring a toothbrush and some toothpaste seems like the owner hasn't seen one in years. read more

My service could have been way better in my opinion.. i was visit from Dallas one weekend and needed to get my brakes done. I found these guys on Groupon and decided to go ahead and pay for service ahead of time (ive used Groupon NUMEROUS times so you pay online and they merchant scans voucher you paid for) and i get to the shop only to still be charged over $350 when i was only supp to pay roughly $70/$80 so i show them my paid Groupon and they take it upon themselves to totally disregard the voucher and kept the list of charges they did on my car and they checked off my voucher as if they applied it but noone ever scanned or asked for the voucher code but claims they applied a discoun!!
