The manager Jesse is a loser and they overcharge you. They finessed me and said my diagnosis was waived but I was charged $900 just to tell me what I knew already. I wouldn't recommend anyone do business here unless you want to be overcharged. It starts at $900 to tell you what you already know and it jumped to $6500 to rebuild a transmission for a 2010 Nissan Murano. They're crooks for sure. You would have to be a fool to listen to the nonsense that comes out Jesse the goofy managers mouth. Shop somewhere else! read more

Do not come here. Came in because my check engine light came on for my transmission fluid temperature sensor. They charged me $800 to inspect my car and not fix anything. Pretty sure my problem could have been fixed with just a replaced sensor and a flush. They were trying to charge me $6,000. That's more than what this car is worth and tried to make it seem like they were giving me a good deal. Feel taken advantage of. The cherry on top is before I took my car in it was driving perfectly fine and now it doesn't accelerate properly anymore and is leaking. read more

I will start by saying Alex at the front desk was outstanding in his role of customer service. My initial conversation with him is what gave me the trust I needed to leave my vehicle with them. Now the employee Jesse is where things took a left, I got a call from Jesse the next day, to give me the run down on my vehicle. he gave me this 10 spill basically saying my car needed to have the transmission pulled for further inspection and that the vehicle is inoperable. I asked to further explain because I drove the car 40 mins plus to this location with no issues, I guess that triggered something in his little brain and he got defensive and began to get smart with me(Big no no! I don't play those games) I called him back a few minutes later with my brother on the phone and once again he had the same sassy attitude( Maybe that time of the month?) anyway, so I told him about his self, and it was to the point I'm like don't worry about it, I'm on my way up there! Suggested to him to have the same energy once I arrived, I ended up paying for the quickest uber to get me there, once I arrived, I was once again greeted by Alex! He was really cool but I told him I really wanted to know who Jesse was and I want to let him know I don't play the whole smart mouth thing especially over the phone. He pointed at Jesse who was in the back at a desk supposedly on the phone with a customer, I made sure I talked loud enough so he could hear me, long story short Jesse with the smart mouth never came up front to talk, the whole time I was their he sat in that chair like he was on the phone! I just wanted nicely ask him if their was a problem and would he like to resolve now that we are in person! Jesse is a liar and will try to con you out of paying for a so called internal inspection, I don't think they ever looked at my car in the first place! True it's leaking, but I took the car there to see if was trans fluid or oil from the engine, I still never got a clear answer on what it was, instead I got a sassy mouth brat going on about absolutely nothing. Anyway took it to Texas auto repair and got the issue resolved for 325! read more

Spent 6K on getting my transmission fixed with their new parts in 2024. Transmission doing the same thing. I was told to leave it again to get put on the rack for another $500 to see what wrong with it. I haven't put 35,000 miles on it since getting my transmission fixed the first time. Now I'm looking for another transmission repair place. read more

Ask for a quote told me it would be around 650$. They took the trans apart and then agreed it was the exact part that I had been talking about broken. Quoted me 6k to repair, after I said no problems began. They then wanted nothing to do with me or my car or care about what happen. Don't take your vehicle to A plus Transmission for a transmission rebuild unless you want to see it wasted. Had to replace seal(s) and/or torque converter, etc. (so they say) 1 year and 1 month later. They could not give me a breakdown on parts replaced - said it was not their policy. The shop would not take responsibility for a leaking front seal which almost caused a catastrophic failure in my vehicle (leaking all of the fluids out) due to it being one year and one month from their botched job. Instead, they charged me another $1622.76 to replace torque converter and some other parts they would not disclose and it was still leaking profusely. I asked for a refund so that I could get the terrible leak repaired elsewhere and Marshall the Manager said they said they don't give refunds, just warranty service. Well, their warranty service does me no good because they cannot stop it from leaking. See photos. Since the transmission rebuild, I have taken my vehicle back 5 times and it is still leaking. Spend your money elsewhere unless you'd like to see it wasted. read more

I previously gave this place 5 stars and felt they deserved it at the time. But I have had some issues with my transmission repair of less than a year ago. Yes my car drives fine no transmission issues but i started hearing a clunking sound under my car turns out the bolts on my propellar shaft were not tightened properly and also my O2 connection wires were cut, this repair due to this place not doing their job with installing the tranmission properly cost me $450 additional dollars that could have been avoided...also when I picked up my car the phone harness from inside my car was missing....not happy read more

Thank goodness our AAA tow truck driver took us here two years ago. A-Plus has seen our (very old) Pathfinder twice now, and Danny and Jesse were nothing short of great. Free diagnostics and then can explain to you in lay-terms what is actually wrong with your vehicle. The most recent incident we had with our car, Danny & team let us drop the car off right at close and kept the car overnight. No work was needed-- they cleaned up our battery and cables to rid us of the issue, but they didn't charge for a diagnostic. We will continue to bring our vehicles here because of how they treat their customers. read more

Does not get any better than this. Great crew and great service. Robert and Danny run this show smoothly and got my Honda Pilot 2wd back in my hands in 1.5 hs for a routine transmission service. The First word that comes to mind when I think about Jesse and Patrick is AWESOME!! They helped me from the BEGINNING to the END! My car was stuck at Chick Fil A when I needed assistance and without any charge they came and picked my car up and communicated with me everyday about everything that needed to be fixed! I would recommend this place to anyone any day without a doubt. Patrick and Jesse have been so incredibly helpful through this journey. They do not sugar coat things and get straight to point. They take care of all the work for you, including insurance problems. I just had to file a claim with my insurance and they were able to take care of everything else!!! I was just there for a fluid change and they seem like honest guys recommended by another mechanic shop. My car is pretty old so if my clutch ever goes out, I'll probably take it to them. Something to keep in mind, they are very busy so if this is maintenance or not an emergency, make an appointment with them because walk-ins seem to be impossible. read more

So originally I came in for the "free diagnostic" because my reverse don't not work. I then was told that the only way to find out what's wrong is to pay them $600 to take the transmission out and find the problem that way.So they tell me that I need 3 parts and they have payment plans that don't go by credit and that you don't have to put money down.(should've known they were lying)I told them just to put my trans back in but they wouldn't let me. I constantly keep getting calls from them pressuring me to order parts I told them no that I would just pay for the diagnostic. They talked my fiancé into starting the work on the trans without getting approval from me the person who brought the car in. now they are trying to keep my car because their "payment plans" are credit based and I told them before hand I can't do anything involving my credit. This place is with out a doubt a bad mechanic i went to go fix my 2005 jeep Cherokee on a monday 1/3/21 because it was overheating and i i told them if they can check to see whats wrong they told me the check was free and theyll tell me whats wrong and so they called me and was told it was going to cost 600$ which i said ok thats fine no problem they told me ok will get the parts for you and will call you when we get them and go from there. They dont call me until Wednesday saying that the price will be 3,698$ i told what the fuck whys that and they told me that they already fixed it for me even though i never told them to fix it nor got my approval to continue and on top of that they said it wouldnt be ready till friday and to make things worse they had to make me get a loan from 3 different sources and had to get my best friend involved just for them to get paid. They told me the reason it was expensive was because the parts and the hours it took for the mechanic to fix 100$ an hr is what i was told. So now that i owe so much money because of these people i am currently in debt and to make things worse they didnt give me my car until Monday 1/11/21 because they said that they had to go through the process with the loan accounts and wait until i was approve or something even though they got paid. So in conclusion this place has to be the worst mechanics because they are liars scammers and money robbers and we are in a pandemic so dont go here it aint worth it read more

I came here to get a transmission leak fixed on my Toyota Celica. It was not a great experience for me to say the least. I was initially over charged for the repair and had to bring my dad (who usually works on my car to up keep it) to meet with the manager, Danny. Danny was very arrogant in his demeanor and only lowered the price, because my father was present. Danny also refused to pay for the rental car that I had to drive for OVER TWO WEEKS while they had my car sitting in their shop. I will NEVER make the mistake of bringing my car here again. The manager Danny communicated with me throughout the whole process and explained the cost very carefully and made sure I understood what was happening. They towed my car to the location at no charge and even applied a coupon I was unaware of to help save on my bill. The staff is very professional and went out of their way to assist me. Danny even had another manager (Robert I think) pick me up and take me to work early one morning when I was stuck. They repaired my car in a timely manner and even warrantied the work. read more

My car was serviced by A Plus Transmission on Murphy Rd in Stafford and after 10 times, that's right 10 times of taking my car to this place and it still don't work properly. They supposedly rebuild my Transmission and over $3000 plus dollars and my still don't work. I can't refer this place to anyone, and now my warranty is over and car transmission is still giving me problems. They took my money and all I have to show is a none properly working transmission. read more

I was LIED to and my car was broken into; Danny's lies equate to a serious case of "elder abuse." Because of his lies, that is "everyone gets financing .... BUT ME" -- it appears that a major injury has begun. I spent 5 nights homeless; Danny knew my car was my temp residence but acted contrary to my specific instructions. Additionally, (Robbery) leaving my car outside 1 day before specifically stated I would have the money he otherwise promised available to cover my clutch replacement ... my pistol was stolen; and some of the interior was damaged. An ex police officer told me that this business "should know better" than to leave a car parked outside. This company deserves a LAWSUIT. Paying double would have been cheaper for me. Two thumbs up to A+ Transmissions in Bellaire for fixing the acceleration issues with my Chevy Blazer which started during a return trip from Austin. The problem didn't present itself all the time so I had every expectation that diagnostics would take a while. I was really glad that didn't happen and I got my car back sooner than expected. Danny was great in keeping me in the loop so there were no unexpected surprises. I am new in Houston and really dreading to take my car to a mechanic esp that I am new in town. My car was referred by Goodyear to A+ Transmission because it might need to replace the flywheel. I was dreading to take my car because I went to another mechanic about the flywheel and it was a nightmare. The guy (shop manager) changed the price on me rather than the price that I was quoted, and was a jerk. As I explained to At transmission the problem, I was schedule to come in. Danny and Marshall greeted me respectfully and very professional about my dilemma since my car is old. They explained thoroughly to me the process if my car need to replace the flywheel. After checking my car, Danny even went above and beyond to show me and explained to me that I do not need to replace the flywheel at this time. These guys are so professional, so knowledgeable about cars, and really great customer service. At times, it feels that finding a trustworthy and honest mechanic is an oxymoron-but these guys are really honest, and trustworthy. They are excellent in what they do, excellent customer service and honest. I have recommended them to anyone that needed car repair. This is a work in progress. I have a 02 Honda Odyssey which, I was informed by both my usual maintenance folk (Honda Dealership) and another transmission place, that my transmission was shot, needing 3-5K in replacement costs. I wasn't willing to spend that much, so fortunately I located the Bellaire location via Angie's List. They just picked up my car today (for free! and despite the flooding) and ran diagnostics for me (again, for Free!). Manager Danny called and gave me a great update, and quoted about 500 to remove and inspect my transmission PART BY PART. Fantastic thus far. He also informed me this would be credited towards the cost of any repairs. I am impressed thus far and have a good feeling. This car has a long history with my family (I am original owner, 2 of the kids came home from the hospital in it after birth, so very sentimental). My daughter absolutely loves driving it, so if I can get 2 -5 more years out of it, that would be fabulous. OK, Danny and Crew, don't let me down (unless you need to). I went to A+ on 9-24-18 for the first time. I spoke with Mr. Garza, who spoke very professional and respectfully to me the entire time. All in all my car was there for almost 3 hours, Which is totally fine with me, as I rather they take their time and do a complete whole hearted job (not to mention 3 hours for transmission work isn't that long at all) they did their free diagnostic as well as changed the transmission filter & oil. Everyone inside this office made me feel like they actually valued my business. I wish I knew the name of the mechanic who actually worked on my truck, but whoever he is (shorter Spanish guy) deserves a raise. Great guy. I asked him a question about my hoses under my hood (not their normal specialty), and he was more than happy to explain it to me, and didn't make me feel like I was bothering him. I have a leak somewhere (and a few other things) that need to be fixed, and without a doubt I will be coming back. If you are someone who wants a job done right the first time with great customer service, this is your place. I normally don't write reviews, but if someone or someplace goes above and beyond expectations, I feel it is well deserved. read more
