I came to Zak's Dental in Long Beach a couple of weeks ago. I had so many bad experiences with dentist I hadn't gone for a while, a long while. I was both scared and extremely embarrassed. The embarrassment is what had me continually putting it off! So, I saw the reviews and felt I would give them a try. I'm so thankful I did. The staff from my X-rays my consultations everyone was so kind, patient and I wasn't embarrassed anymore. I felt confident of the new smile that would be in my future. The dentist went to work and he was finished so fast, I couldn't believe it. He did an excellent job and I'm so thankful for my progress. I previously submitted a positive review regarding Dr. Zak Dental and his team approximately two years ago. Regrettably, circumstances have evolved, and not favorably. I have been a patient of Dr. Zak's for over six years. Several years ago, I encountered a highly unsatisfactory experience at the Downey location, which prompted the owner to personally contact me and offer an apology. He extended an invitation for me to reconsider their services at the Long Beach facility. While initially hesitant, I accepted the offer. I have since appreciated the Long Beach team, and it appeared to be a suitable establishment for my dental care requirements. I even referred my girlfriend to their practice. (Incidentally, she encountered significant issues with scheduling and billing.) I was quite embarrassed by this situation, yet I continued my patronage. The decisive factor was my attempt to schedule a routine teeth cleaning. I was unable to proceed with the cleaning as they mandated a preliminary dental examination. In essence, it appears they identify potential procedures or services that may not be covered by insurance, necessitating upfront payment. The process has become rather impersonal, with patients in the dental chair awaiting a sales representative who presents a video detailing hundreds of dollars in proposed dental work. I discussed this matter with the office manager, who confirmed it as their standard policy. Again, my sole intention was to receive my annual teeth cleaning. I would advise prospective patients to conduct thorough research before committing to services that may be unnecessary. Furthermore, I recommend verifying your dental insurance coverage to ascertain what is genuinely covered versus what the practice suggests you require. read more

I have a nice experience with Dr Peepers since it's my first time meeting her and her first time doing my dental needs as well. I have not been to my regular Dentist since last year because I switched Insurance. My teeth are really dirty, so disgusting, if I may say. At time I feel mistreated I just had a temporary bridge done June 26 this year im been in pain up until now and it's July 7th I call the office to get an emergency appt.No Dr.on staff no one never recommend to a sister dentist. Had trouble trying to get pain medication they never told me I needed pain medication I was there for 3 hour for the service for my temporary bridge. I ask Dr.Fatima do I need pain medication she said No mind you i was there getting work done for 3 hour. I have to go back again because the adjustment didn't work I had done yesterday Dr.Fam was excellent she was caring professional and compassionate she did the bridge work and adjustments it's two Doctors that keep me coming back Dr.Fam and Dr. Mai kindness makes a great difference. But I Love Dr.Mai she's so sweet kind & patient she's the reason I keep coming back because I had stop coming for awhile because the manager Fatima But she getting better read more

the bad: long wait times (40 mins to over an hour) for telehealth exams with the dentist but not always. depends if you schedule first or last appts. mid-day or mid-mornings have long waits in my experience over the last 3 years. the good: the procedures such as x-rays, cleanings, fillings, deep cleanings are all done well and comfortable. modern tech is nice. I've been least anxious i've ever been for dentist appts at Zak for me and for my kids, ages 6-13. the staff are kind, professional and thorough. just a tip- look over the treatment plans and ask questions if those reccs are absolutely necessary bc everything is expensive. read more

I've been with Zack dental for about 4 years now. From my last yearly check up I had decided I was going to look into going elsewhere due to a few bad interactions I had with the front desk staff. However, I came in today and was greeted by Griselda and felt so comfortable. Her bubbly personality and patience is why I originally made Zak dental my go to dentist. Would also like to add my dr who worked on my cleaning didn't get her name but older Asian lady with super cute dress lol. I signed up for the Rebuild Z plan which is their annual membership. Ever since my dental health has been excellent. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Zama who has taken care of my teeth doing the restorations and crown replacements. I seldom visit the dentist because he's done great work. I just regularly go to the 3-month cleaning and Dr. Mai Thi Panh has been taking care of my dental health overall. Shoutout to Ms. Merlyn who has assisted me with most of the procedures and always making me feel comfortable and feel rest assured that my oral health are well maintained. The receptionists or even their patient navigators are very helpful in keeping me in track of my schedule and the procedures I needed to undergo. They have maintained the quality of services, cleanliness, promptness and excellence all throughout the years and I have been going there for 8 years. I have a 730a appt. I show up 5 minutes early, Only customer here, and it's now 745a.. I was very bothered with my first appointment I scheduled this as a tooth cleaning and they ended up only doing a assessment and told me I needed to reschedule for a teeth cleaning appointment. That is very deceptive and I did go back for the teeth cleaning and it was very short and done unprofessionally. First of all the technician puts glasses on me and I'm figuring why am I wearing plastic glass goggles and I can see why she splattered water all over my face which has never happened at any doctor's office before and then she was done in like no time flat and the cleaning did not fill like it was good enough. The place really does have broken down chairs and equipment. And for what they're charging my insurance and for what I pay I'm not going back there thank you very much. read more
