Well, unfortunately, I have to UPDATE my review. Not overreacting or sensationalizing. Almost everything I said before is true, but I have to backpedal on and draw into question the integrity I originally experienced in Dr. Ha. An explosion of holistic health approaches are happening in our world. From nutrition (eating Natural, Organic, avoiding seed-oils and sugar, etc) to fascinating research on "grounding." When I told Dr. Ha I did not want any more root canals, he refused to work with me. He became agitated when I mentioned the Netflix film that examines the practice of (root canals) leaving tooth material/flesh inside someone's jawbone to rot with bacteria. Despite logical basic scientific premise, he gave me the, "[There is not one scientific study published that proves root canals are bad]" kind of argument. Go ahead, call me a conspiracist, but remember me when you see what everyone else is waking up to. Health Care is more accurately "Sick Care" and doctors, Big Pharma, and Insurers don't want to change anything because it makes them too much money. It's why public trust is eroding. I've been looking for a good dentist that was gentle because I get mildly anxious when it's time for dental work. I polled lots of people on the next door app and asked around; and I was pointed in the direction of Dr Troy Ha. When I called to schedule the appointment I was not surprised When the office assistant said the dentist was booked out 4 weeks. She gave options for walk in but I decided to make and appointment. Before my appointment day came my 10 year old son was tripped at school and chipped his front tooth. I proceeded to Dr Troy Has office for a walk in. The front office manager was friendly and told us to fill out some forms. She said there was only one patient ahead of us. Could this be my lucky day? Indeed it was. 30-45 minutes later we were walking into the back for the work to begin. I was so nervous and I wasnt even getting the work done. Dr Ha was so gentle with my son. He gave him a couple of shots to numb the pain and to my surprise he wasn't complaining too much. :) My appointment is coming up this Saturday and I don't feel as nervous. More to come. read more

Thanks Dr. Ha! I went in after having wisdom teeth 1-2 months ago but I noticed bleeding on the bottom left side. Dr. Ha was super pleasant from start to finish and treated me well even though I was in just grey sweats and a dark grey shirt/jacket. It was my office day so I wasn't worried about dressing up (have a great salary job) today. Low and behold it was my top left incision area that wasn't fully healed and he just popped a gauze in and said to let it heal/go on a prescription for the time being to prevent infection. It was $65 which he brought down from $95 and is greatly appreciated, since it only took five minutes I wish it had just like $45 but I'm not gonna complain. . This man is kind and efficient. . I had to extract a tooth after dealing with it being loose for a couple of months...it had to come out! I was having panic attacks about this every day...I called over 10 different local Long Beach dentist offices and many were either not friendly, gave me over-priced quotes (being I do not have insurance right now) and just not making this easy. I finally came upon Dr. Ha and wow what a difference! Everyone that I spoke with over the phone were very nice and understanding. I even walked in (today - Saturday) no appointment and I only waited about an hour then they got me in. The office is very nice, newer looking equipment and I even was able to watch cable on my private TV while I waited for my turn. Long story short, Dr. Ha was amazing and very helpful. I moved here from the East Coast almost 3 or 4 months ago. I had ALWAYS hated going to the dentist, and unfortunately hadn't gone in at least 4 years. While here I had felt extreme pain in my upper left tooth, and then eventually found a hole in my tooth. Reluctantly I went and found a dentist, and stumbled upon Dr. Troy Ha. He has completely changed the way that I view the dentist, and I probably will never change as long as I can. On my first visit he took X-rays and Cleaned my teeth... All those years of no brushing and check ups showed.... 11 Cavities!!! He immediately noted the one with the hole in it and decided to try and save it, as it was nearly to the root. I now have a crown on it and it feels great. Out of the 11 cavities 4 have been taken care of, with the choice of the white or silver fillings (to save price). He is a WONDERFUL dentist who is gentle and caring. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend him!!! read more

Well Dr. Ha has done it again! I unknowingly flushed the bottom dentures, due to getting a reaction to some food I ate. I never felt them due to the bottoms were loose because of a reduction in swelling .I barfed, I know, kinda gross, but funny too. So, he made a new bottoms and he was wonderful. Now i have new bottoms and snug fit. I come back in 6 months to measure my bite. It can take up to a year before swelling is completely gone. Now i look forward to putting my teeth in. My teeth have been through a lot and I went to Dr. Ha already having had extractions and needing two more extractions and fillings. He has done it all with ease and these steps have been a crucial part of me regaining my oral health. He can also help guide you on the steps to take to improve teeth appearance. I had a crown with a former root canal break off at the bone. My dentist was not available, but on the second day, when I went in and he was still not available, one of his partners met with me, advised that I get it done as quickly as possible, then scheduled me for 11 days out, and presented me with a bill for $2400. I left. I was a walk-in at Dr. Ha's, barely had to wait, and got the job done for less than 10%!!!! I will be going back and referring friends. I am so glad that I turned to Yelp to help me find my new Dentist. First thing's first, thank goodness there is a parking lot right in front of the office. I'm far too lazy to walk blocks after blocks just for some good ol' teeth cleaning. The office was very spacious and clean. I've heard and read about many dental offices that didn't make you feel confident with what they are using to drill your mouth. Luckily, this isn't one of those horror places. Maybe I just lucked out and went when it wasn't busy, but the other reviews are true when they said that the Doctor is very punctual. I got my teeth x-rayed (and it wasn't pretty), but Dr. Troy Ha was very professional and nice enough to tell me that my teeth are jacked up in the nicest way I could imagine. (Thank you) He definitely knew what he was talking about and told me exactly what I needed to get done and was honest and realistic about it. My past dentists barely even talked to me... they just cleaned a bit and rushed me out the door so that they can move on to the next patient. Dr. Troy Ha was very patient and answered ALL of the questions that I had. He even went over everything that my insurance covered and what it didn't... so I knew exactly what my bill was going to look like before I got suckered into anything I couldn't afford. Whew! He walked me out and had the receptionist make another appointment for me and that is when I realized that the Doctor is very thorough with his work. He even told her that he would need extra time with my teeth (hour and a half to be exact). Usually, the appointment time slots are about 30 minutes and doctors fail to make a note of that to the people setting up the appointments and that is what causes delays on appointments. I was very impressed. AND... thank goodness the receptionist had legible penmanship! I'm actually looking forward to my next visit, believe it or not. I had the absolute BEST experience here with Dr. Ha, and recommend him to anyone with teeth. He kindly worked with my anxiety, and made me feel very comfortable. I had an extremely traumatic experience with a dentist as a child, followed by years of more mistreatment from other dentists. As an adult, I avoided the dentist all together, until too much discomfort forced me to find one. I don't recommend 5 years without a dentist visit... Dr. Ha found a staggering amount of cavities, practically every molar. Over the course of 4 appointments, Dr. Ha and his team skillfully fixed every spot in my mouth. They were patient with my anxiety (which, through their amazing treatment, was lessened every visit), my stubborn sensitivity, and my out-of-control numb tongue on one occasion. Truly, I could not have had a better dentist. Now, I hope I won't see them for a looooong time! Except, of course, for routine cleanings, that I will never skip again. I went to get my teeth cleaned here last weekend and I walked out with a HUGE smile on my face and full of happy energy. Yeah, seriously, I was HAPPY leaving the dentist! It put me in a GOOD mood! Yeah. I hadn't gotten my teeth cleaned in a couple years.. so I didn't realize that when you do your teeth become "whiter" and I was so happy! I was, of course, dreading the "how long has it been since you've been to the dentist?" question followed by the "you need to floss every day lecture." But it never happened! Dr. Ha simply said "So that I can know how long this plaque has been building up and make sure it is the normal amount, can you please tell me when the last time you had a cleaning was?" I told him a few years ago and he said "okay, that sounds about right then." And that was it! No lecture, no guilt! 5 stars for Dr. Ha! The reason I only gave 4 stars is because of his front desk staff. I walked in the door and the older Asian woman behind the counter didn't even look up at me. I walked up to the counter - still she hasn't looked at me. I gave her my most cheerful "Hello!" and she looked up at me, and then back down. Oooookay, so I signed in and then stood there waiting.... finally she gave me a form to fill out, without ever saying a word. When I was paying to leave the only thing she said was "credit card?" Did I really want my friend poking around in my mouth? Well after a diagnosis problem at my current average dentist, I gave in and tried Dr. Ha. Hes so down to earth and calm with patients. Let me start by saying I'm that person that hates going to a new dentist due to how uncomfortable of an experience it can be! I decided to visit DR Ha only because his prior reviews were so personal of his individual patients experiences! It made me feel at home before even getting there! I called for some general questions, all of which were answered promptly by the women at the front desk! Upon my arrival i was re-informed of my 30min-2hour walk- in wait time! I sat and about 35ish minutes in, i was back in the chair! I came to get an emergency wisdom tooth service! Basically i previously visited 2 other places that took xrays, informed me the cost of surgery and told me i would have to wait a few weeks! That was not happening as i was in excruciating pain! I instantly felt comfortable with Dr Ha! I explained to him that i was terrible and didn't go to the dentist to have the wisdom teeth removed when i should have! An xray was then taken! He comes back in and gets to work! I thought he was just checking out the area to get ready to schedule a surgical appointment or recommend me another facility! I was wrong, 5 minutes in DR places a tooth on the table n says that's your left one! And a few minutes later he proceeded with the right! After weeks of searching, days of terrible pain, and numerous sleepless nights, I literally found my diamond of a dentist! I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. The day that I arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the inside of the office.
