Food was good and nice portions. Very expensive for a diner. Breakfast plates were around $21!

We moved here 2.5 years ago when it was still called The Eating Place. Now it is Eateria Unlimited…read more When we first arrived, this place was decent, no major issues. Lately it's been getting worse and worse. We ordered: Choose your own pasta + sauce (penne with Alfredo sauce) Cheeseburger with onion rings 2 grilled cheese sandwiches Nowhere on the menu does it say that choose your own pasta comes with onions or mushrooms, so when it arrived with both, we sent it back asking for neither. It came back.... still had onions in it. The cheeseburger and onion rings came with no onion rings, fries instead. The grilled cheese came with no cheese. It looks like cheese might have once been on the bread, but later removed. It was truly the most perplexing. I love to support local restaurants but this isn't the first disappointment from them (last time we were told we didn't read the menu correctly despite doing exactly that), and this time just sealed the deal that we will be unable to return unless there is new management and a better cook. We really liked ordering from here often, but things have taken such a severe turn for the worse that we cannot risk wasting more time and money. Buyer Beware Sincerely, Missing-The-Old-Eating-Place

They don't have a whole lot of selection, but what we had was pretty good. We got a croissant, a lemon brownie, and a salted caramel chocolate chip cookie. I'm not sure what the prices were, but it was a bit under $10 for everything. The lemon brownie was like a lemon square and was simultaneously tart and sweet. It was lovely. The croissant was flaky and tasted fresh. The cookie was a bit too salty for my liking, but wasn't bad. They have gluten-free and keto options too. The man serving us was nice. Worth a visit if you find yourself in Carleton Place, or of course if you live there ;) Street parking only. Of note: Google maps took us to the wrong location and actually to a parking lot nearby for other businesses. The address is on Allan Street so turn on Allan, don't turn southwest on "Mill Street" from Bridge Street like Google Map told us to (Mill Street only runs northeast off Bridge Street, so turning southwest is turning more into an alley way and not really a street).

TLDR: Fieldhouse Bakery came highly recommended as the place in Perth for lunch. It did not…read moredisappoint. Sandwiches were tasty, albeit a bit pricey. The cruffin was decadently delicious. One of my colleagues is from Perth and when I told her my husband and I were doing a day trip to Perth as part of our staycation, she recommended we have lunch at Fieldhouse. I love bakeries, so we followed her recommendation. The place is a lot smaller than I expected. It only has seating for 8 inside (4 tables of 2) and 4 picnic tables outside (so seating for about 16 outside). I got the Chicken and Brie sandwich ($14.75) and added a side salad for my husband and I to share ($5). My husband got the Ham and Swiss sandwich ($14.25) and we also got a cruffin ($5.25) for dessert, but ended up taking it home. Before we left my husband got an Americano to go ($3). I enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was crusty and held the ingredients of the sandwich well. The peppery arugula in the sandwich went well with the chicken and Brie. I was thrilled that the chicken was real roasted chicken breast meat (and not deli meat, lol). The aioli was flavourful but a bit excessive in quantity for my tastes. It dripped onto the plate with every bite, lol. The salad was leaf lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots. Vegetables were fresh. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came as requested. The dressing was a creamy dressing and on the runny side. I'm glad I asked for it on the side, as I used only about a third of it. I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was ok, but I much preferred mine. He liked his better, so it all worked out. His was on a fluffier and softer bread. The ham was deli ham, but it tasted ok. The Swiss cheese was nippy. Service was pleasant. My husband enjoyed his Americano. We had the Brownie Cruffin at home. The pastry was flakey and delicious. The chocolate filling was like a rich chocolate pudding. It was very decadent. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but I found it a bit pricey, but I guess in today's economy, this is what you pay for sandwiches. Street parking only. (125)
