My Experience with Rocco Jewelers (August 23, 2024)…read more I don't normally leave negative reviews, but after spending thousands of dollars with Rocco Jewelers, I feel it's important to share my experience. My first purchase was a ring advertised online as 14K gold. I paid $70 for Next Day Air shipping and had it resized. When it arrived, there was no 14K hallmark inside the ring, and my invoice listed it as 10K gold instead of 14K. I immediately called the store. Liz, the manager, investigated and confirmed it was 10K. After several calls the following day, they agreed to honor the advertised price for the correct 14K ring. I appreciate Liz for being polite, professional, and respectful throughout the process. Because of her customer service, I decided to give the company another chance. I then purchased a Diamond Chandelier Ring for around $5,000 and requested it be resized to a size 5. When it arrived, it appeared they had reduced the size by installing what looked like another ring inside the original band rather than properly resizing it. I was never told this was how it would be done. The center diamond also had visible imperfections, the engraving quality was poor, and the 14K stamp looked more like a dent than a clean hallmark. About a week or two later, two small diamonds fell out. I returned the ring for repair, and after they sent it back, another diamond fell out again. At that point, I had lost confidence in the craftsmanship and was tired of repeatedly shipping the ring back and forth. I also purchased another ring from them and was promised it would be engraved with my name, but it arrived without the engraving. During one of these issues, I was told that Rocco would personally call me. I waited, but I never received the promised call. Liz always treated me with respect and genuinely tried to help, and I appreciate her efforts. Unfortunately, customer service alone couldn't overcome the repeated problems I experienced. I'm attaching photos showing the missing diamonds after they fell out of the ring. For jewelry at this price point, I expected much better quality control, craftsmanship, and communication. I hope my experience helps others make an informed decision before making a significant purchase.

I don't even usually write reviews but this experience was unacceptable. I originally brought my ring in that they sold me after a diamond fell out and paid for that repair. During that process, they created a hole in the underside of the setting. When I returned because the diamond fell out again, I pointed out the issue and was told they would fix it properly by adding gold and restoring the structure. They did the second repair "for free," but later tried to use that against me as if it justified the poor quality of the work. Instead, the ring was returned with the hole still there even more noticeable, poorly patched and visibly unfinished. The underside looks crudely built up, uneven, and the gold looks burnt and overworked rather than properly restored. The setting is now weakened and the craftsmanship looks rushed and unprofessional. On top of that, the diamond they put back in was not even the same size as the original and appeared to be lower quality. It did not match the rest of the ring and was immediately noticeable. The same day I picked up the ring, I raised these concerns and was then asked to pay an additional $200 for another repair to fix the issue or get a new one. When I questioned this, the situation escalated in a completely unacceptable way. The staff became aggressive and tried to act intimidating rather than addressing the issue. I was yelled at, cursed at, threatened with having the police called on me, and even called a "piece of sh*t." I was then told not to return. I have since had another jeweler look at the ring and was informed that the setting now needs to be properly rebuilt due to how it was handled. Between being charged for the initial repair, receiving poor workmanship, being asked to pay more to fix their own mistake, and the way I was treated, I strongly recommend going elsewhere for any jewelry needs or repair if your looking for QAULITY work and not a shady jewelry shop in the Bronx.
