I would like to know what happened to Dr. Zamarra. I had was seeing him every month in 2019. Then he changed office, I saw him once there, the following month he was gone. No one would disclose his whereabouts. How can he leave his regular patients like that? Not even a call or some notification of where he has moved to. I even changed my health insurance just to be able to see him because he does not take Medicare HMO insurance. I had to pay more for the insurance just to see him! read more

Wow, this Dr. is so bad in so many ways. I had an appointment at 3 P M. there office was closed for lunch 1:30 to 2:30 yet they didn't open back up until 10 Min to three. I was asked to do paperwork. While doing the paper work I noticed that the floor was so dirty you could see month old dust behind chairs not to mention the large pieces of litter on the floor. The windows looked like they have not been cleaned this year. There a dentist office that shares the same reception area. (zero patients both sides) Anyway had paper work done and still had to wait over 15 min and still was not called in even though I could see the Dr. just standing there at the counter. What's with that. So asked what the issue here. Was told they could take me back to wait in the exam room. OUCH! The exam room was so dusty my wife took a Kleenex to the blinds and the exam table - YUK! Seeing all the dust and dirt on every thing I was wondering just how dirty his instrument are. He is great with his patients and is very knowledgeable on both contemporary medical care as well as the holistic approach. I want a Doctor that is listening to me, answering all my questions and spending all the time needed with me to gather all the pertinent information. And last, the most critical criteria for my Doctor is a timely and accurate diagnosis. If a doctor messes this up, you are screwed to a point that you could even die. My father was missed diagnosed back in 1992 by another doctor. I watched my father die of colon cancer because of a bad diagnosis. I have no love for doctor's because of this and other poor doctor's diagnosis examples. Doctor Zamarra is a different type of Doctor. Doctor Zamarra wants to know all your symptoms and treats you according. Doctor Zamarra's gift/talent is to provide an accurate diagnosis, provide immediate treatment and then follow through to make sure the patient has a successful recovery. Doctor Zamarra is an excellent cardiologist, but the Doctor practices a "wholistic approach" so the Doctor checks out the whole body and treats according. My husband and I were married in 1998 and my husband had his own doctor of 20 years so he was not interested in changing to another doctor. In 1998, my husband had very painful red spots on his sides. His doctor told my husband he just had a rash and prescribed a basis cream for this supposedly rash. After 2 weeks with my husband showing absolutely no improvement and still in pain, I convinced my husband to see Doctor Zamarra. Doctor Zamarra's immediate diagnosis was my husband had hives. Doctor Zamarra gave the correct treatment. My husband recovered with no more issues. My husband won't go to any other doctor than Doctor Zamarra. I have a many examples of this type of action from Doctor Zamarra. He saved my husband's life by determining the need for heart surgery. Doctor Zamarra personally called the Surgeon to expedite the process. My husband had the operation within 2 days. My husband is doing great. My last comments are about my parents. I've been seeing Dr. Zamarra for over 10 years, he is my cardiologist as well as my primary care physician. Because Dr. Zamarra has monitored me closely over the years, he's been able to treat several health issues before they got out of control. He will also refer you to the best of the best if you need a specialist. The office is well equipped with all of the basic equipment for a cardiologist, but outside specialists come in on a regular basis to provide access to the latest state of the art test equipment and test procedures. Wow.. if you go to the website for Cardiologist/Alternative Medicine Dr. John W. Zamarra on East Chapman Boulevard in Fullerton you will get an entirely different picture from the website to what the actual office and this Doctor himself looks like. Not like an old picture of him posted there, but a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FACE. Weird OLD run down building, the roof and corners are rotting away, rusted gates and his name literally falling off the wall near the office door facing the back parking lot. A lot of dead plants and tear-down possibilities abound here. The front entry has a locked rusted barrier gate in front of it so you cannot enter from Chapman. A rusted horsehoe over the beat up, chipped back door. I don't know about you , but nothing inspires confidence in a new doctor like a rusty horseshoe prominently displayed.. This back door is where you park and enter. This door is security bolted until around 3 p.m. when he returns from his noon break. His receptionist showed up sometime later. Office is clean inside with extremely old, musty furnishings, and antique lookiing medical examination tables/ equipment. Maybe not so strangely, no other patients were present. No people at all. Patient sign in sheet, only had six names on it, for the entire day, including my name. He shares this office space with a equally run-down dental office with separate check-ins. Dentist on one side , Doctor on the other side, with a large empty waiting room in between..The dentist also had no patients .. This is a Cardiologist with supposedly over 30 years of experience, but his degree in Cardiology on the wall is dated in 2001. If you decide to check out his picture on the website beforehand, it is nothing like the obese visage confronting you when you get there. Try adding about thirty years and not in a good way.Like I said, a completely different person. Creepy place!..Doctor greeted us briefly after we ventured in for our appointment time,down a dimly lit hallway.. then we waited and waited in the empty waiting room. No one came (no receptionist).. Dr Zamarra is a knowledgable, kind doctor with a sense of humor. I just attended his lecture (Olli Medical Lectures Series) on hypertension, and I can say that his wholistic approach and integration of modern and traditional medicine is commendable. We need more doctors like Dr Zamarra. read more

If I could give it a zero rating, I would. Had an emergency yesterday and ended up in ER. This doctor was nowhere to be found. After about 20 calls, messages, emails, still nothing! The emergency unit was in shock and recommended I find someone new immediately and we have. I cannot have a cardiologist that is never available in an emergency. Dr. Zamarra is my primary doctor and I can honestly say from having Medical insurance to having PPO Dr. Zamarra is amazing. He has helped me when other doctors wouldn't by that I mean the military. I found Dr. Zamarra when I was in need of a doctor. I called my insurance to see what doctors were the closest to my home and they gave me a list of names. I called Dr. Z on a Wednesday I only remember this because his office is closed Wednesdays but he was there. When he answered the phone I was a little nervous because usually for medical I don't speak to the doctors until I have an appointment. Anyways I explained to him my situation and I asked him when I could come in for a visit he told me the next day the first visit I told him the things that were going on; long story short he was a real life saver because he has gone above and beyond to help me and give me good advice. The receptionist' are amazing too they treat me like family every time I go there. I have also notice that they treat all their patients with kindness and respect. We need more doctors like him. I first went to D.R Zamarra about 5 years ago with a blood pressure issue. His attention to detail saved my life! Yes, the building is a little run down- but the care is what is important! Our visit to Dr. Zamarra's office was amazing! He is friendly, very concerned about his patients, takes his time with you, and is spot on about his diagnosis and treatment. His receptionist is friendly and fun. Having a specialist, especially a cardiologist with so much experience and networking skills, is a great help in trying to get healthy. You get the best of both worlds. He has tremendous skills as an MD and is very highly trained and experienced in natural medicine. He gave me so much good information on the first visit, that I was able to turn things around right away. I even found that I got a callback right away from the office when I had a question. My husband had the good fortune to be a patient of Dr. Zamarra. My husband had many health problems and Dr. Zamarra was his cardiologist and, as an internist, also coordinated his care. Dr. Z. is very knowledgeable and also extremely thorough. He is very considerate, a good listener fully engaged in the conversation, and professional in his delivery of information. I am convinced that Dr. Zamarra is the reason that my husband lived much longer than expected. As a caregiver it was for me a blessing that Dr. Z. could be reached at all times. Whenever there was an emergency with my husband's health, his staff would immediately get him on the phone so I could consult with him. I have lived in other states before coming to California, and have been referred to various doctors over the years, and Dr. Zamarra is by far the best physician I've ever had. I believe he has extended my life through his care. When I go in for an office visit, I come prepared with a log of readings (weight, blood pressure, glucose) plus observations and questions. He honors me by reading my notes and following up with questions. He also willingly listens to information from the medically-oriented members of my family.
