However I cannot not mentioned the reason why I love going there so much. ROSE - the best hair stylist who really truly understands how to cut thin hair and makes you looks like you grew more!:) She is so maticulate and skilled - she cuts hair wet and dry to make sure it looks good even when not styled ! Just a follow up review. Since my previous review, the stylist I'd been seeing, Hannah, has moved out of state. I tried a few different stylists, and, while I never had a bad experience, Zano's usually/always prompt for feedback on your most recent visit. On one occasion I commented that while I was quite happy with Hannah, after her leaving some visits left me wanting. I never a bad cut, but not always a cut that I entirely happy with. In reality, though, it may just be a personality thing. After my feedback the management team recommended a particular stylist, Samantha, that several of Hannah's regulars have been quite pleased. Enter Samantha. Like all their stylists, they spend some time asking what you're looking for. Give them the details and I am confident they'll do their best to accomodate. Once you're familiar with the stylist, they tend to remember. I like my hair longer in the winter and shorter in the summer. I just let them know the length and they make it happen. I love this place. It may take a few attempts to find someone who seems to be a good fit. Find one and stick with them. Zano's is a well run establishment and I'll stick with them. Quite happy with their service and amenities. Admittedly I'm fairly low maintenance, but I want a good a haircut and not a chop job. Zano's delivers and I appreciate their style. Agreed with a previous reviewer that Kelly is a great colorist. Now that she's gone from Zano, it's been tough to find someone as talented to replace. There was a free color service offer (to cover Kelly's clients) from Zano that I assumed to be a loyalist gesture in customer service + retention was true. However that offer wasn't real. Zano Salon - Haircut by Carley! - Hair Salons Near Me - Lisle, Illinois

Absolute DISASTER! WORST haircut of my entire life! I came in for a trim for my 6 inch gamin cut which tapered from the crown to approximately half way down my ears. I was clear to Maurice to TRIM only, trim one inch at the longest, bulkiest part and only minor feathering elsewhere to give it movement. When MAURICE was finished, my very feminine, 6 inch full cut was now one inch short, choppy, hard and severe with scalp literally shown through in places: I am mortified to go out in public with the "trim" Zanu Salon gave me. MAURICE began by taking too much off one side, I cautioned him again that it was a trim ONLY, and to just even both sides, and he assured me he would only feather and he began on the back. I do not watch stylists when they cut, cannot see the back of my head, and my glasses were off. He then "trimmed" SIX INCHES to ONE INCH overall all across the occipital bone area, and cut OVER THREE INCHES on the top crown. Adding insult to injury, he HEAVILY textured my fine hair, the worst thing a stylist can do to fine hair. The sides went from half way down the ear to ABOVE the earline and choppy (please refer to pictures attached) This was NOT A TRIM, this was a HEAVY CUT, and it is POORLY DONE. And this "stylist" is NOT considered Zanu's entry level - I shudder to think what there Entry Level is like if this man is cosidered Experienced by Zanu. Absolute disaster. read more

I have been going to this specific Zano's for about three years now. My coloring is always done but Kelly and Chelsea has cut my hair for about two of the years now. Both of these girls are amazing, they are super sweet and friendly. I take in pictures and they make the magic happen on what I am looking for and are great at advising me when I have questions or concerns about my hair. I don't trust easily with my hair and I trust these two ladies so much even if I don't get to see them often, every time I go in for something they remember me and the work they do is just amazing. The new system they have in place for the COVID situation is also super easy and smooth and helpful for those of us that are still nedding the distancing. I have never been to this location. I booked a full highlight online, not specific to any certain stylist. The woman I had was nice and also experienced, because she told me she had been there for quite some time. I got a root touch up and foils placed strategically around my head to lighten it up. No toner, just shampooed and conditioned without even a scalp massage. This appt totaled an hour and a half. Walked out with wet hair and paid a whopping $240 not including tip. Will not be back. If I am paying that price I expect to walk out looking like a damn Disney princess. read more

This place is so inconsistent. I called in advance to ask pricing for balayage only and they told me $120, so I scheduled my appointment. When I got there my stylist was kind and asked me if I wanted to add the olaplex treatment for $20 extra and I agreed. Overall, it didn't turn out what I asked for but she said with washes and the sun it'll change to what I wanted. Not sure about anyone else, but I don't go to a salon to rely on the sun to change my hair to what I asked for. To make it worse, I went to check out and the girl at the front wants to charge me $200. Talk about bait and switch. That's definitelyyyyy not the price that I was told at any stage of the process and she said the manager wasn't around so there was nothing she could do. She took my information and said the manager would call me tomorrow. I never got a call, I reached out a couple days later and again they told me the manager would call me. Tried again recently and it just kept ringing. This place is super dodgy, horrible horrible customer service, better off going somewhere nicer for this price point. read more

Wanted my hair really blonde and Kelly looked at me like I was an alien. She is so unfriendly and stuck up. Makes you feel uncomfortable. I tried going twice but after that I was fed up. Unless you want to hear about all the clubs she goes to when she looks over 35 and feel judged yourself, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Zanos is on the expensive side but they are able to do things with my really difficult hair that I never thought possible. My hair is very fine and natually wants to stick straight out from my head. It is really horrible to work with but my hair always looks great after they have finished styling it. They also do an excellent job with highlights - I have had so many compliments on them. Well worth the price and, honestly, I don't mind moving from station to station. I can use the chance to get up and move around after sitting in a chair for (what feels like) soooo long :-). read more

I just realized I don't think I have reviewed this particular Zano, even though I go here every 4-6 weeks! Melissa does my color (she had worked at dt Naperville before coming to the Lisle location). I am not very picky and know that she knows what she is doing, so I let her take the reigns sometimes. It always comes out amazing! Carly cuts my hair and I would seriously not want it any other way. I am glad Melissa recommended her way back when. I am not, how you say, particularly social- I am pretty quiet. But Carly and Melissa both make it easy to talk and make me feel comfortable. This is a most wonderful place to get your hair cut. The staff is so friendly and professional. I will only have Carley as she is just so wonderful. She will tell you honestly when you ask her if you could cut your hair a certain way and she give you a honest answer and explains it. We have tried a couple of cuts and each one has been great. She is always up beat and just so pleasant you kind of don't want you hair cut to end because she makes you so comfortable and I love the chats we have. I have never had someone do as good of job that Carley does. She knows her stuff. I am so greatful I found her and could not even think of going somewhere else. I have been here now 4 or 5 times. Seen a few different people for cuts but I've got to say, Michael does a FANTASTIC job! He gave me the best haircut of my life last July and I went to someone else last time because Michael was unavailable and I was feeling impatient that week (my bad). So anyhow, today I went back with my mother and we both had our hair cut by Michael again. My mother has NEVER EVER had a cut she's been satisfied with. Today as I got my hair cut, I looked at her and I could just see pure satisfaction. She LOVED the cut he gave her hands down. I loved mine too of course...I guess I think he's just magical with a pair of scissors lol. A side note is that he makes me laugh and have a good time the whole visit..hard to come by! I also had an all-over color treatment done today by Mikaela. She did a fantastic job. She's also very sweet and easy to talk to. Needless to say, my mother and I both already booked our next appointments with the two of them again for the holiday season. Tried this place for the first time today. The place itself and the staff are nice. First time customers get a discount which is nice. The haircut itself was just okay. The stylist kept saying that since I'm new to them that they didn't know how I like my hair. I'll probably stick to the regular barbershop where they are more confident with the razor. After my stylist at another salon downtown moved far far away and trying countless city salons, I decided to give Zano a try (since it's by my parents house). I'm incredibly happy with my new 'do! I have straight-as-a-board hair that was past my shoulders. I brought in a few photos on long bobs that I was considering as well as a loose perm to give my hair some body. After chatting with my stylist, he explained that we should take baby steps - let's start with the haircut and then we can work our way to a perm for some texture if need be. I was relieved with his advice because chopping my hair was a drastic change. Don't get me wrong, I love it...but I needed a day or two to play with it, style it and get to know my new hair style. My stylist Matt was great the whole way through - chatting about Kimye, Taylor Swift, etc. He explained to me which products he used and why (a huge bonus since after I leave with products, I want to know what to do with them!). The manager Nikki brought me ice water and gossip mags. All in all, I was very impressed with this salon in the burbs - this city girl may just have to trek out to Lisle every month or so to get my hair done here:) I've already scheduled a followup session to get that texture in my hair...after a long discussion with my stylist Matt. This place is very pricey! 81 dollars for a partial highlight?! Really?! I went to this place 3-4x only because my former stylist who goes by Mya moved here....she used to color my hair and used to do a fantastic job. However, the mindset in this salon is very different. There were multiple times where I actually wanted a specific color, and what she wound up doing was stripping my hair (without telling me this), and doing a deep conditioner (again without telling me this) and charging me 255 dollars for my total services...obviously i didnt expect this! Another experience I recall was when the highlights i received washed out in 5 washings..so I called back for a redo...and THEY CHARGED! What place charges!? The staff here is a bit on the snotty side...not at all friendly at the front desk... Carley cut my hair and I can genuinely say I've never had a better hair cut and style. I've never had someone listen to my needs, as well as express their own professional opinion better than Carley did. She was hilarious and fun to talk to and I really felt like I was in good hands. Not only does my haircut feel great, but it lays better and completely compliments my face shape. I am so thankful I trusted her suggestions because I've never had so many compliments and I will definitely be back. I also learned that stylists recommend products for a reason. I used to be a client here prior to moving out of state many years ago. I was in town for a week recently and was able to be scheduled for a cut and color with Kelly and Becky the very next day. My overall experiences with both stylists and the front desk in regards to scheduling was great. I was a little indecisive regarding my color and cut however, both Kelly and Becky were very professional, helpful, and did a fantastic job. I loved everything about my hair walking out of the salon. It was pouring rain when I checked out and the front desk staff member even walked me out to my car with an umbrella! I noticed some comments here mentioning the price is expensive. I live in California and actually told the front desk how cost efficient the Zano prices are! Especially my color cost.. which would have been double the price had I gotten it done in California. Went to get my hair done for a wedding. I wanted it blown out or blow dryed and then big loose curls added. She asked if I wanted big beachy waves that were soft and natural and I agreed. I was turned away from the mirror so I didnt know what she was doing the entire time and when she was done I looked like a 16 year old going to an 80's prom with tight hair sprayed curls and teased hair at the top. I have been going to Julia Irvnik for my color and Hannah for my cut for the past year now. I love it! Reception always has a warm welcome and offers beverages. And Julia has transformed my hair. I went from a lack luster black to a soft brown with red golden balyage. When I'm getting my hair cut from Hannah I always get exactly what I ask and she is super pleasant to be around.
