I've been here a couple of times and I hope it's my last. I got my brows done here and it was easy breezy. Everything was great. But for the following month, they canceled my appt the day of with barely any notice and no explanation. Just a text that it was canceled. Then I got a mani pedi here. I waited for 15 min before my tech came and that was after I approached the desk to inquire because it was like they just totally forgot about me. Then my polish peeled off after ONE day. When I booked the appointment through the online portal and selected her as the colorist, the estimated cost was listed at approximately $120. I understand that pricing can vary, but I do expect some level of transparency and consistency when booking services. When I arrived, Colette initially complimented my current hair (brown with highlights), but then questioned my decision to go back to a single dark brown color. Rather than feeling guided or supported, I felt uncertain and somewhat discouraged about my choice--even though I knew exactly what I wanted. A more reassuring and collaborative approach would have made a big difference. Shortly after, I was informed that the service would cost $160, which was significantly higher than the quoted estimate I received when booking. This was not clearly explained beforehand, which added to my frustration. During the application process, I felt the service was rushed and lacked attention to detail. The color was slapped onto my head --within about 15-20 minutes--and it felt careless at times, as I ended up with color on my sweatshirt and hands. The overall experience came across as unprofessional, and it gave me the impression that the service was being hurried, possibly due to the time of day. Afterward, I was taken to the shampoo station. While the assistant was kind, the experience felt minimal--there was no conditioner massage or the level of care I've typically received during similar services. The selection of regular polishes are slim when compared to other nail salons I've been to. Thankfully I was able to find a color I liked though! Tiffany was awesome. She was on time, attentive, and great to chat with. During the services I noticed she was thorough and made sure she was happy with her work. Tricoci is on the pricier side however they do have promos frequently. This is a great place for a 1 stop beauty salon and spa. I've been going to this location for a few years now. Previously would go to the Yorktown location which is now closed :( I get my hair colored by Colette every 6-8 weeks. I have been a client of hers for over 20 years. I have seen other colorists at other salons through the years and have had to have Colette fix their mistakes lol. She is amazing I can show her a picture of the color I want and she is able to recreate what I show her if not make it look much better. Colette is great to talk to very funny clean and professional. I had an appointment for an updo with Anna Marie. It was my first time at the salon so I had a 20% off coupon which was nice. Updos are very much hit or miss with wherever I have gone in the past. I've heard from Stylists a lot that Pinterest styles are often very hard to do and don't usually end up looking like the picture because everyone's hair textures are different. Anna Marie did a fantastic job. I showed her two pictures and gave her a general description of what I wanted. She was super fast and easy to talk to. I was shocked she was able to do the hairstyle I wanted in 45 minutes. A concern I usually have is the hairstyle staying. It felt very secure and she often made sure that she wasn't hurting me which I appreciated. Most importantly, I loved the final look. It looked great in the front and the back. It also held up all night. I did have to add a few more bobby pins to the bottom but overall I was very pleased and impressed. I will 100% book my next updo with Anna Marie. Another aspect that I liked about the salon is that people specialize in different areas. For example, Anna Marie told me she only does haircuts and styling. If you want color done that's done in a different department. I like that everyone specializes in this salon because that gives me more confidence that they can do it well. It was very easy to book my appointment and they had a lot of availability, which was also appreciated. Check-in was easy and it was a nice location. I would give them negative stars if I could. I came to this salon in September 2025 requesting a balayage and unfortunately did not receive the service I asked for. Instead of a blended balayage, I was given streaky highlights that were uneven and did not resemble the reference I had provided. It was pale and yellow hue that looked ashy. The layered haircut I requested was also nowhere near the reference image and was uneven. I returned for a correction, during which additional product was applied. Idk if it was bleach or toner tbh. However, the result still did not resolve the issue and my hair condition worsened significantly. While the salon did provide a refund for the color service, the long-term damage to my hair has been severe. I had to go to another salon to get my color and cut fixed. 3 color corrections and trims later, my hair is still damaged. It's been 9 months, my hair remains extremely dry, brittle, and prone to breakage. I have experienced unusual texture issues (including stickiness at the roots even after washing) and have had to spend additional money with another stylist and hair products. At this point, I have tried everything- different products, stylists, remedies but the problem seems to be unresolved. Despite consistent aftercare, including protein treatments, oils, and professional services, my hair has not returned to its original condition. I am sharing this to provide an honest account of my experience so others can make an informed decision. While I appreciate the refund, the overall service resulted in lasting damage and significant additional expense to correct it. read more

My experience at Mario Tricoci Salon & Spa in Naperville was incredibly disappointing and upsetting. I hadn't been there in a while and booked with whoever was available for color. After discussing what we were doing, the stylist separated my hair and went to mix the color. A few minutes later, the GM came out and told me they refused to perform the service because of supposed "cuts" or openings on my scalp that needed to heal first. I did not have any cuts! I had one small scab which wouldn't be harmful and I have pictures to prove it. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of professionalism and compassion. The color stylist, Emily, never came back out to speak to me herself, explain anything, apologize, or even ask me questions. The GM also never showed me what they were supposedly concerned about or attempted to calmly explain the situation in a respectful way. I have a few neurofibromas on my scalp that have NEVER been an issue in all my years of getting my hair colored, and I had one very tiny scab that the dye would not even touch. Instead of handling the situation with empathy, I was made to feel embarrassed and dismissed. There was no attempt to offer a solution -- no rescheduling, no consultation, no effort to make things right, not even a small gesture after I left visibly upset and in tears. I walked in excited to treat myself for my birthday and left humiliated and heartbroken. The lack of communication and basic customer care was honestly shocking. I come here to get my hair done by Collette (highlights/lowlights). Mario does everything a la carte so I only come here for color. This large salon also offers cuts, massage, skincare, and nails. Ok, back to my girl Collette. She does great work on making my color pop and covering the grey as well. I just tell her if I want a little lighter or darker when I sit down and she works her magic. I usually come every 8 to 10 weeks. I use the website to book, and it's a breeze. It will show her availability. (Or whatever service you are looking to get done). This review is for corporate/management, not the wonderful stylists I've seen in my 10+ years as a customer. I started to be turned off a few years ago when my favorite technicians began to depart. My nail tech left, then two colorists, then the woman who cut my hair. To me it was a sign that perhaps employees were not being treated well and didn't feel like they had longevity with the company. Management started to get weird too. They once texted me asking me to come an hour later for my appointment which I accommodated, only to be scolded for being late when I arrived. Thankfully I kept my text receipts, which I had to show them when they didn't believe me. So weird. Prices were always high and kept going up while service declined. For example, you have to blow dry your own hair after spending $200+ on color. They finally lost me when yesterday I went to book and noticed that without explanation or warning, my colorist's pricing went to $280 for highlights!! Up from $185 in December. $185 was already above market for the area, and to raise it so significantly with no warning or explanation just left me feeling so over this place. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with my visit today. I decided to give this place another chance but left having the same opinion as before. I booked a single process (because that's what I had done at another salon days before and I wanted to simply lighten up some yellow spots in my pretty platinum hair) My appointment was at 6- and I made sure to tell the receptionist what was going on to make sure I had enough time. I was greeted with Mary (who was doing my hair) and she asked if I had been there before I said no- and she just hands me a bundled up cape? Or robe? I wasn't sure because she didn't say anything... which was weird. Then I proceeded to let her know what was going on. I simply wanted some yellow out of my hair that was maybe 1-1/2 inches from my roots. Just to even out my hair and it may have consisted of some quick bleaching and or toning. As I'm explaining she is looking at me like I'm stupid, she was very condescending and passive aggressive. Saying "sooo what exactly do you want?" And I reiterated I just wanted to even out my hair- that's all. I didn't even need foils, I just needed some bleach in not even 10% of my head. I didn't have preexisting box dye, highlights, my hair was done professionally at a salon everytime- the dilemma i was having was simply just a case of not bleaching enough and needed a quick coat and tone. She then grabs my hair in disgust and says "this was done at home?" I said no...? And the reason I knew the task was so simple was because the woman who did it PREVIOUSLY was able to lighten those problematic areas in an hour with no hesitation. She made it seem like I needed a double processing or foils , which I understand she is the professional I am not. But i have been blonde many times, I've done it at home, and I've been in a lot of chairs and she was by far the worst. She made me feel embarrassed in front of people next to her and suggested I reschedule and then included the prices. I feel like sometimes these places judge you based off of how you look- as if you don't know what you're talking about or you cannot afford it. She just gave very passive aggressive, condescending vibes and seemed like she wanted me out. I won't be returning to Mario Tricoci ever again. I ended up doing it AT HOME. I've gone to this salon 5x over the past year for 2 different services! Hair services: 4/5 I've gone to see Lacy for blonde balayage twice this past year and loved my hair both times! Lacy gets 5 stars! However I'd be remiss not to point out that it is sad that Tricoci splits all their services up, so although I get great color, if I wanted a trim, or even to be blow dried after, I would have to book separate services with separate techs. It's kind of annoying and definitely expensive. And I wasn't aware this salon worked like this before so you can end up walking out with soaking wet hair unless you want to sit in the front of the salon near the front door and blow dry it yourself. Not customer friendly. Massages/ Spa: 5/5 I've gone for a Tricoci exclusive massage 3x and loved it each time! Highly recommend Christina and Natasha. And then also had a service with Jordan, who was borderline on the deep tissue massage side, but otherwise great! I got a gift card here and wanted to try this place. I never tried this place believe it or not. It was so classy from checking in and checking out. Every staff made me feel welcome. I had no idea where anything was, the massage lady showed me the waiting room and then took me to the changing room and told me to wear a robe and slippers that were in my locker. Eventually I waited in a waiting room until my turn. I had a glass of water before my appointment. I enjoyed it, it was relaxing, I don't like rough massages so she listened and took it easy on me. I felt relaxed and was good to go. She took me back to the changing room and told me I can enjoy the steam room before I changed into my clothes. I did sit in the steam room for like 5 min, I am more of a sauna gal. The checkout was a little wacky. I felt like it was done on purpose but I didn't wanna assume. The only issue I had with that is she didn't take all the money out of the gift card. I really thought she did use the money on there cuz she was asking me to swipe the rest on my credit card. Once I swiped my credit card she gave me back my gift card(I figured it was empty) I didn't realize it until I got home that she wrote the remaining balance on my gift card ($34). I dunno why she did that, probably a mishap on her end but that is quite annoying because now I have to make another trip back to use the remaining which isn't much, I can't even buy a service with that and I don't really use their products. I would have to spend another $100 to get a massage or facial. I found that quite the extra expense which could have been avoided if she charged my gift card correctly from the beginning. First time and last for Tricoci in Naperville. My sister is (still upset) booked an appointment with colorist, BRITTANY for highlights and root touch up. She is upset that Brittany upped the prices to an absurd amount when she sat in her chair. My sister sat in her chair and discussed what she wanted: a partial highlight and a root touch up. Brittany said she would mix the color. But came back 10 minutes later saying she had to check on a client's hair. OK?! She proceeded to tell my sister that the partial highlight would be AT LEAST $280.00!!!! And the root touch up $190!! What?? My sister replied that is ridiculous and she usually pays at least half of those prices. Brittany says that my sister has thick and long hair so it's suppose to be that price!!! WHAT?!! My sister has been highlighting and root touching up for 23 years, and never been quoted that much!! Wow, what a bait and switch!!! The online booking does not state that the price is going to double or triple when you get to the salon!! So Brittany says let me talk to my manager. After waiting for over several minutes, this was the final straw, so she left with no service. This is really unfortunate because my sister has MS and it's not easy getting around. I have been going to Mario Tricoci for about 20 years to see the same stylist, colorist and esthetician and I always come back. I have a very busy and fluid schedule so when I need to come in I have the flexibility to make an appointment that week or the next to fit my schedule. To think they are asking client's to "book" in advance to insure the technician has a "return rate" or they lose a percentage of their commission is close to unethical. Plus if you have a busy client who forgets to cancel the "commission" based appointment, Mario will charge 100% for the fee. So they are not only putting seasoned employees in a difficult spot, but also their valued clients. What a terrible business decision for their employees as well as their clients! For a deep tissue massage you can't go wrong here! The staff was helpful when you check in. There is a lot of different services available at this location, I just came for the 50 minute deep tissue massage! I like my massages with a lot of pressure and I would highly recommend Jordan if you can handle the high pain tolerance. I'm sure Jordan can give a high quality Swedish massage as well, I just prefer the pain. There is plenty of parking and looks very organized inside. I had booked an appointment for a haircut on Friday August 12th at 715am.  I received a call at 635am while driving to your Naperville location, to cancel my appointment,  due to the stylist calling off.  There was no other availability for that day.  The lady on the phone was very apologetic and offered to call back when she could find an appointment for me.  She did call back a little while later with an appointment for Saturday,  but the time did not coordinate with my schedule.   I had already booked a new appointment with Jeanelle at 10am on Sunday.  I was disappointed that she was more expensive than Mia, but I was in a pinch and really needed a haircut and some more products.  Well today as I was in the shower I received another phone call at 847am to cancel my 10am appointment, because that stylist called off.  When I called back, I explained that this was the 2nd cancelation in 2 days, and was there anyone else who could cut my hair, or anyone who they could call in to do it.  The lady said no.  I told her this was completely unacceptable. I asked to speak to a manager.   She said she was the manager.  So I asked what she could do to fix this problem.   She said, are you available on Tuesday?  No.  I needed my haircut this weekend.  Plus, at this point, I don't want to rearrange my schedule,  just to have my appointment canceled again at the last minute.   She never offered to call me back and try to fit me in today, never offered any discount or compensation for 2 canceled appointments.  I can not understand how such a high end salon would have nobody to cover call offs...or even walk ins.  I've never been more disappointed in Tricoci, as I am right now.  I'm sorry, but as much as I like my stylist Mia, I do not plan to come back.   I emailed them August 14th, and I have not received any response.
