I'm sorry! We been driving for a bit. My husband wanted Mexican Food. So, we decide to stop and do to go. My husband tells me omg it came out $70. Well I said " this food must be amazing" I was wrong shrimp cocktail was like I was eating ketchup and only 5 shrimps. I was able to eat only one and the cup where they put the shrimp was half way like kids cup. Kidding me. Okay I'll try the burrito no meat in it. My beans taste from a can, the rice dried. I'm sorry I can't eat this. Please if you love your business please put some love into it. I'm sorry but this doesn't taste good. I'm sorry is a no no. We stopped by for lunch on the way to u-dig. So happy we did. Being from Oklahoma and the husband and his friends visiting from Texas, we were all in agreement that this place was downright amazing! The menu is extensive and everything sounds so delicious. We had tamales, enchiladas, nachos for kiddos, I had the Colorado omelet with beans instead of toast. (The hash browns are made in house, not frozen, yummy!) All of it was perfect! Oh and the fresh lemonade and peach drinks were so refreshing! We will have absolutely zero qualms planning a day trip to Delta just so we can enjoy this restaurant again! read more

Really nice family. I had the chile relleno (stuffed chile) and it was delicious. Great red rice and pinto beans. Husband had breaded steak and loved it. Ate every bite. The salsa was clearly homemade and the horchata was one of the best I've had. We were staying at the hotel next door and it was so convenient to walk 2 minutes and sit down. The staff waiter is the daughter it's her family place and she's super sweet. Pictures of Emiliano Zapata on the wall are of the great Mexican revolutionary leader and liberator (like our George Washington). Recommend this nice place. read more

My fam and friends stopped in for a "plan b" dinner after a long day exploring the area. We were camping down the road and the weather did not cooperate for an outdoor grill session, so we decided to try Zapatas. So glad we did. The kind owners greeted us immediately and helped pull enough tables together to seat all 7 of us and immediately got us our drinks while we looked at the very extensive menu. We ordered 2 molcajete's, carnitas, kids enchilada and several other dishes to try, including a Buche (pork stomach) taco, which was really good. Everything was sooo delicious! The best carnitas and carne asada I have ever had! And the red sauce... WOW! Can't say enough good things about this place. Such nice people, who were so accommodating and great food! Two words for this place 'da bomb!' I can't believe this place does not have a yelp rating until now. I am thinking the locals are keeping it a secret for themselves...lol. This place is clean friendly and tastee. They have an awesome salsa bar, my favorite was the salsa verde and the pickled jalapeños. They also had a dessert counter that had some tasty treats one of which I think was carrot cake. My wife and I ordered burritos which were awesome. She had a bean rice and cheese and I had a chile relleno burrito. We had pinto beans instead of the refried and they were Humm Humm good. The chile relleno tasted fresh and was not greasy. My burrito was so good I had a hard time not going back for seconds! I can't wait for our next trip through Delta so I can stop and get my burrito fix on! read more

I really enjoy the salsa and chips here. I also have had wonderful chicken quesadillas and burritos. And you should try the homemade lemonade (obviously mixed with margarita mix. A big expensive but VERY tasty!) The only complaint I have is that they mix their avacado with either too much mayonaise or sour cream. Either way it looks to be poured from a bottle. It doesn't taste bad, but I would not call it guacomole. read more

This taco shop has great food. Their burritos are simply delicious. Best Mexican food of our trip by far. If this place was down the street from me I would be there at least once per week. This is a great location right off of HWY 50. Easy for travelers on their way through. read more

I've heard great things about this place so we needed to give it a try. To be honest, it's just another Mexican food place with rice and beans. I am not the biggest fan, but food was ok and the prices are reasonable. I love that it is family owned and operated- the service was nice. Probably will go back, but order something different. Driving from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City there are not a lot of places to stop along the way. But we found Zapata's Mexican food in Delta Utah, and it really is the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. Good service, friendly environment, and you get to mingle with the locals. read more

CHECK YOUR BILL, PEOPLE! On my last visit I noticed their portion sizes have reduced significantly. My salad was tiny and definitely not worth the price and the 2 kids plates had seriously 5 fries each (I counted). Okay, it was clear they might be struggling and needing to give tiny portions. But that wasn't the worst of it. Then I got my bill!! I noticed that I was overcharged for those kids meals on top of the new smaller portions. When I brought it to their attention their argument was, "well, that's the price in our computer system". And my argument was, "but that's not the price on your menu, which I ordered from". After going back and forth the lady rolled her eyes and threw the cash at me and said, "just take it then" and walked off. Wow! I was shocked that they were trying to charge more then what their menu listed... and even MORE shocked that she actually tried to argue with me when I brought it to their attention! Unbelievable. I'm pretty sure my food will be spit in if I return... so I will not be going there again. But, just wanted to warn others to check your bill! It's not the first complaint of over charging. But they didn't try to act like they didn't understand me... like the other reviewer experienced. read more

The food was mediocre at best. The salsa was boring. They tried to overcharge for a kids meal and got very angry when I pointed it out. They said the menu was wrong. They also charged for more salsa. Not a good experience. read more

Seems to be a local hit. Many of the folks in this smaller establishment were on a first name basis with the restaurant staff. I ordered chicken fajitas. They were pretty tasty and came piping hot from the kitchen very quickly. The salsa was some of the freshest and chunkier I've had in a Mexican restaurant, delicious! This is a really good Mexican restaurant. Not "good, for Delta" or "not bad, for Utah" but really good. The flavors are nuanced and balanced, the refried beans and rice, often just afterthoughts, stand out on their own--even the chips are memorable. If I didn't live 600 miles from the place, I'd eat there twice a week. Why four stars instead of five? I honestly can't think of anything I'd change about the food, but it was served a little on the room-temperature side. read more

We came in around 8:30-9am. Door says opens at 7am. None of the tables were clean & they were moping floors when we came in. Poor customer service. The chorizo & eggs was terrible. Super chewy and I didn't even finish my plate. The tortillas were at least a day or two old. I guess maybe their lunch is better than their breakfast? Anyways needless to say; disappointing. We had to wait 30 min after we were done eating for the waitress to come give us our ticket. read more

I ordered a chili verde burrito. What I got was a burrito stuffed with beans and rice with a little bit of shredded pork smothered in green sauce. Not chili verde. They charged me an all meat burrito. My husband was also over charged for his meal. However his enchiladas along with the beef taco were good. When we pointed out the over charge and mistake on the burrito the waiter did not understand. The food over all was good but watch what they charge you and hope they understand what you ordered. read more

Stopped in right at closing time for a to go dinner. The owner invited me to take a table if I liked...which I did. Rather dine in then take it back to my motel room.
