Today's stop was right here in Richfield at Playa Azul TacoShop, where I grabbed lunch before heading out for my ride. And just like every other time I've been here... This place was BUSY! The parking lot was packed with cars and motorcycles. Local businesses were holding lunch meetings, and families were enjoying great Mexican food together. I had two tacos - carne asada and carnitas on flour tortillas. They both came w pico and guac and were decent portions. I wasn't super impressed w the carne asada - a little dry and not a lot of flavor. But the carnitas were excellent! My son had a carne asada burrito and had the same feedback. We all felt like they were missing something like some melted cheese or something. I loved the salsa bar and when they say super hot, go ahead and take their word for it. The green super hot was hot but flavorful and the red was too much for me to handle. Last, my tacos came w lemons to squeeze on them which is uncommon - usually I get limes at other places so that was unique. I'd say it's pretty legit authentic but not quite a 5-star experience. read more

Had the chicken and carnitas street tacos and they were a deal for $3 a taco. Both tasted great, the chicken taco easily could have been made into two tacos. Love the salsa bar, great added value! read more

After days of traveling and one disappointing restaurant after another, this taco shop was a lifesaver. For me, the rice and beans always tell the tale of whether the food is going to be good -- and here they were spot on: fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We ordered the carne asada quesadillas, and they were absolutely delicious -- packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. The staff was welcoming, service was quick, and the whole experience was a breath of fresh air after too many letdowns on the road. If you want food that truly delivers,this place is it. After riding the local mountain biking trails we stopped by for some tacos before heading back to SLC. We both got the soft tacos, which were quite large. Two of them were enough for lunch. I consider myself a taco expert as there are more than 50 taquerias in my hometown in the Bay Area. I really enjoyed them and liked that the chicken was grilled and not shredded. Hope to be back to shred the local trails and have tacos here again. read more

Looking for a quick bite, just visitng the area. Saw this, and glad we stopped in! Reasonable.prices, generous amounts of food, and delicious aquas frescas (and Jarrito soda "on tap"!). My carne asada was so well seasoned, and hub's chile relleno had a chicken cutlet in it, in addition to cheese! He said it was yummy. And you must get their churros for dessert! Just the best...hot, a variety of fillings, and the perfect amount of cinnamon-sugar. We will return if we pass this way again :-) read more

We came here cause we read good reviews about this place. Price and portion size were good but the food lacked any flavor and texture. We ordered lengua burrito, four different style of street tacos, and a beef torta and they were all bland in taste and super chewy. Never had Mexican food that was chewy and a Mexican establishment that didn't offer hot sauce in their restaurant. Even though it was reasonably priced we wouldn't recommend eating here. read more

Best Mexican Food/Taco Shop in town & Sevier County. This is a new location, the original location is in Salina, so bear with them as staffing is short and business is booming. The new location is great! I'm glad we don't have s to drive out to Salina anymore. It's really nice inside and they have plenty of seating. I love the light green Salsa. I love the burning hot orange one too. I love ALL of the food we have ever had from here. The rice and beans are delicious, the Carne Asada is always really really good, I love the shrimp rice bowl, the burritos and my favorite are the crunchy shredded beef tacos. They remind me of home and no one else does them like that around here. I highly recommend this if you're looking for good quality authentic Mexican Food. read more

When you come here, it is so laid back. It is not some fancy restaurant but a down home feeling. You come here and you run into friends and even family here. This place has been a great addition to this community. When you are greeted with a smile and it makes a difference. They bring your food out and are always so polite. The food speaks for itself. It is so delicious and satisfying, Richfield has not had any taco places like this. It is about time they did and playa Azul did not disappoint. This is a great little locally owned fast food Mexican restaurant. We had the cheese enchilada platter. It was $12 and fed us both. We also tried. The hot carrots, which were cold, pickled spicy carrots, and jalapeños they were unique and delicious. they also have Mexican sodas on tap. read more

Best Mexican food in Richfield, and probably central Utah. The atmosphere is adequate - nothing special. But the food quickly made our day. We had an excellent carne asada burrito and a chili relleno platter. The meat was grilled perfectly and had a nice char on it. What really put the meal on a higher level was the fantastic salsa bar. Creamy avo/jalapeño salsa and the fire roasted chilis in the pico de gallo really won us over. A nice selection of tasty Mexican sodas too. The only knock on the place was the heavy use of plastic and styrofoam for dining in. We would have been happier with real plates and silverware. read more

The food is good. They charge 4$ for chips and they serve them with your food. They make everything on a as needed basis so if you are super hungry or in a hurry this is not the place to go. If there are any sports games in town find somewhere else to go. If they are busy with lots of customers expect your food to take 30 min or more. The food here is a little more pricey than other similar restaurants in Utah but it's worth it. The #4 Carne Asada plate was too much for me to finish. The salsa bar had 5 salsas from mild to hot. The two that I chose (pico de gallo and the hot salsa verde) really enhanced the flavor of the plate. I also got a shredded chicken crispy taco but didn't realize how much carne asada they were going to give. The food was excellent and reminded me of the flavors I would get when I lived in New Mexico (along with the heat). I highly recommend this place. read more

Whoever said that they have the best tacos ever must not know what traditional Mexican food is supposed to taste like. I love this little taco shop! The food is great. The service is great and everything is homemade. They have a nice salsa bar, which makes it even better. They are more than willing to substitute and create the exact dish you desire. I love their rice bowls, but I have them substitute lettuce for rice to keep it as a keto option. They are more than willing to work with you. I highly recommend giving them a try. read more

There aren't signs up outside the building so you aren't sure if you made it to the right place. The decorations are minimal but the food is fantastic! I got the carne asada rice bowl and it definitely filled me up. My wife got two carne asada and two chicken tacos. No complaints! Would eat here again read more
