This place is down the street from that other authentic Mexican place. The tacos seems legit because it looks crunchy. The steak burrito looked good. The horchata tasted more normal than the other place bc of less sweetness and less creamy. The plates all come with rice and brands and a drink so that's legit. Also comes with a a free refill on all drinks so it's the same deal as the other place. We also ordered a fajita but not sure why it came in a togo styrofoam box. Actually everything came in styrofoam. But maybe one of our party said togo? This place was empty on a Friday lunchtime. Don't expect great ambiance. But it's a good dive option. The food was delicious and authentic. If you're traveling on Rt 70, looking for a quick bite, it's worth passing the first Mexican restaurant to find this one a few hundred yards down the road. It's much less crowded, and the service is friendly. Highly recommend. read more

Stopped based on their Yelp! reviews and we are glad we did. Went with vegetarian options and enjoyed the freshness and delicious flavors of the bean and cheese burrito and the bean tostadas. Salsa bar was spicy and good, too. They could certainly use a little cleanup out front and we almost turned away, but are glad we stuck with it. We stopped at this modest fast casual restaurant for lunch enroute from Arches to Zion National Parks. We recommend it! We had a Playa Azul (fish & shrimp) burrito and a Mar y Tierra (shrimp & carne asada) burrito, both of which were quite good. Restrooms were clean. They have a nice purified water dispenser and Pepsi and Jarritos products in the fountain. They have ~5 salsas well-labeled with spicy level. The restaurant is attached to the EconoLodge with a separate entrance; be prepared to pull hard on the doors to open them. Booths & tables were clean, but seats sink quite a bit. Services was super friendly and helpful, and the person taking our order brought the food to our table. read more

I see the menu, and immediately know the safest and most reliable option in a small town that sounds like the word "saliva" is street tacos. Playa Azul ...... don't change a thing. The tacos were exactly what I needed. Juicy, a bit of spice, cilantro.... Some might consider them a perfect street taco. Honorable mentions: crispy tacos - the perfect crunch and take on a classic taco. California burrito - who doesn't love a French fry wrapped in a tortilla? Within 20 minutes, we were back on the road, left dreaming about and salivating at the thought of Playa Azul. Salina, I would say we'll be back, but tbh who the hell drives through Salina. Location: They moved. The address on Yelp was incorrect. They had a sign on the door telling you the new address. But, we still drove past the new address twice. They do not have a sign outside. It is part of a hotel. Friendliness: The person who took our order did not smile. A gentleman in the back walked by and smiled and then said goodbye later. Food: No one else ever came into the restaurant during dinner time. We know why. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. We would not go back. The burrito had such big chunks of beef that it was hard to eat it without pulling out big chunks with your bite. The burrito just had beef and chilies in it. The enchilada tasted better. Stopped for a couple tacos on my way across the country and wasn't disappointed. The crispy tacos are crisp and full of meat. I got the shredded beef crispy. The flavor wasn't really there on the meat but overall a good taco. The 2 carnitas street tacos were on point! The carnitas is deep fried before it is put on the taco and it really steals the show.
