Lastly, I've lived in Houston my entire life and of all the aunties I've shopped with there are only two that I can trust to deliver my needs. One of them being Shahnaz. Literally only giving them one star because we had an outfit shipped to us. I'm going attach pictures of what we asked for - and what we got. You'll be able to tell which is which from sheer disappointment. They are HORRIBLE HORRIBLE at communication. They were suggested from a mutual friend, and we are extremely disappointed by the referral. We mentioned several times that this outfit was for my sisters wedding and yet they still went on to create a less than subpar outfit. We originally placed a deposit for a fabric we LOVED via pictures. When they went to go buy the fabric from "the market" - it was "sold out" so they bought the fabric in another color. We gave them a budget for the event way in advance, they came back saying if we still wanted the fabric we'd have to go above budget. So ultimately after 3 WEEKS OF MINIMAL COMMUNICATION AND AFTER PESTERING THEM TO REPLY Ruhee passed us on to Shenaz (her mother). We asked for our deposit back because they were unable to fulfill our promise. They then went on to mention "we have a strict no refunds policy - it's listed on our door". I LIVE IN DALLAS! I've been to their store once in HOUSTON! Did not see a sign. SCAM. WE WASTED $350 dollars on a saree we are unable to wear. (We had to buy two since the deposit was placed) BEYOND FRUSTRATED AND UNSATISFIED! PAY EXTRA AND USE ALMAS TEJANI IN HOUSTON THEY DID A MUCH BETTER JOB! They had the audacity to request a good review after sending us the saree pictured. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNRELIABLE, HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION, AND A WASTE OF MONEY. Not to mention they pick and choose who they give priority too. They want to grow their business outside Houston, they'll need to improve prior to that. To add on the blouses "long sleeve" was SHORT and TOO TIGHT and unalterable from the forearm. Who wants these two unworn free saree's? The good reviews are 100% from close family friends trying to increase their ratings. Notice --- it's only 5 or 1 star reviews. Good luck if you still choose them to create your outfits. Terrible and just terrible. Extremely unprofessional. Looks like Shahnaz chooses her customers(do not know what is the criteria though), in 2nd or 3rd visit behaves sooo strange as if 'do I really have to do your work'- do not know very strange reluctant attitude as if I am not here for you, you are here because of me- really!! Can not believe any one likes to work with her- i was so hopeful when I first entered in the store. I was expecting it to be better than most of Hillcroft- but was disappointed. Shahnaz will not tell the price of any personalized item- even if you keep asking till the end- when you have no choice of going to someone else - Complete mess in order - first wrong color of the pajama for my son, then charged extra for the wrong one! then when finally i picked up, both completely wrong pajamas after she confirmed its here and informed her I am picking up - daughter who is at store has no idea of anything and gave completely wrong pajamas- how can she do that???? All this after 3 months of ordering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So make sure you have 6 months in hand to get something done - right or wrong! And I still waiting for the right size/color/material to pick up - unbelievable. read more

I highly recommend visiting Zar for anyone in the Sugar Land or Missouri City area. Shehnaz Aunty has a great selection for both women and men for special occasions. I'm actually from out of town and drove in to find the perfect outfit for my engagement photo session that's only a couple of days away. To be honest, I had a pretty low budget, but was looking for an outfit that had a lot of work on it. Shehnaz Aunty was honest with me about pricing, yet she was still able to bring out a piece that was just stunning and unique and what I was looking for! It was a little above my budget, but I loved it so much I was willing to pay that little bit more. Not only was I able to find this great outfit, Shehnaz Aunty was able to get the outfit altered the next day because of my special situation of being from out of town. And it fit perfectly! The only thing was it took a little bit more time than said to get the alterations in, but that's expected for such a quick turn around. We bought an outfit that they altered to the completely wrong size, then dropped it off to be altered again at the beginning of January, alterations would not respond all week, and outfit was still not ready in mid February. My fiance lives in Atlanta and needed the outfit this weekend, since she is not coming back until our wedding. She is now having to go get it altered in Atlanta, which is an extra step we were trying to avoid, this is not the service we were promised. Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you have a deadline, there are many better options in the Sugarland area! read more

TERRIBLE!!! FALSE PROMISES. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I walked into the store telling them I needed an emerald green lahenga for a wedding event. They told me that if I don't find it in the store I could order it. I told them the date of my event and they told me not to worry and that they would have it to me before that date as long as I ordered before that Sunday. I put in my order that Saturday. I was supposed to receive a sketch of the blouse on Monday. When I didn't get anything I contacted them on Tuesday and Ruhee let me know she would have it to me later that day. Friday came by-almost a whole week later and I never got a call from them so I called. That was when I was notified that I would not receive my outfit until two days after the day of the wedding event. Ridiculous. What's the point? They couldn't even call me themselves to keep me posted. Then they let me know that my order usually takes a month. Then why offer and put in my order if you can't follow through with it?! I bought another outfit from them which just needed to be altered. The store closes at 7 on Friday. My mom got to the store exactly at 6:30 and the lights were off and the store was closed. They do not even adhere to their business hours. Completely unreliable. I regret giving them my trust and taking my business to them. I'm appalled at their complete lack of communication and carelessness with their customers. Now I'm screwed and stuck looking for an outfit last minute. read more

She will work with your budget as well as make you the most beautiful outfit! Horrible customer service! Had placed an order for my baby shower which was 20 days before the event to allow ample of time for custom made designs. However, Shehnaz Aunty did not deliver on time due to lack of clean neat notes and lack of attention. There's not enough employees to cater to customers which diverts her attention and she forgets to meet her promises. She left me hanging 24 hours before my event day without a dress. Thanks to other boutiques who helped me find my specific color and dress for my baby shower. Will never recommend anyone and will never attend this store. It's a waste of time! read more

My mom and sisters have shopped with Shehnaz since as far back as I can remember, and today she treats my sisters and I as one of her own daughters. She personally calls us when new shipments arrive and personally caters to us whenever we go to her boutique. Her collections have never disappointed us! She carries the most unique and spectacular Indian clothes I have ever come across. Prices vary, based on how intricate of a design you are looking for to how simple you may want it, but are nevertheless very reasonable. Heck, even if you're looking for something in particular and she may not have it, she'll make sure to get it for you! Unlike my sisters, I am not at all familiar with the names and types of all the fabrics and designs, but she nevertheless shows or gets you samples and works with you beyond the level of patience even I can't have with myself sometimes.
