This zara is pretty big compared to the ones in cali. They have a huge sale around Jan but a lot of the good items were sold out around the time I went ( 1/13). Luckily I found some items in my size. Tried to make nice conversation with the cashier but he honestly seemed tired, which makes sense. The dressing rooms are chill, overall appearance of store is orderly. Worst shopping experience ever! After spending $333 I was racially profiled. The store manager and assistant manager (bald with beard) refused to give their names. The assistant manager accused me of being "guilty". I'm assuming I was guilty of shopping while black! When I got in line to return everything I had JUST purchased, I was furthermore discriminated against when the assistant manager refused to serve me, and instead assisted every other customer at the register instead of me. They only one fitting room open for a line of 30+ people, while the upstairs fitting room is closed with employees just standing around. I am a fan of the clothing but the service at this location routinely falls short largely due to inadequate staffing. During my first visit, it was near impossible to get assistance which I attributed to the crowd of customers. But, when I made it to the counter with an item, the cashier noticed the size I grabbed was without a tag and was visibly upset when her colleagues would not answer her call for a price check. While there, I watched someone instruct security to lock the door 15 minutes before closing and refuse to let a couple who approached in the moment to enter. It seems the volume of people in comparison to staffing at this location is a terrible combination. Cannot say I would never go back but I am acutely aware of what to expect when I do. read more

As some other reviewers have experienced, the service in this store was less than stellar. 5 minutes - wait to find a non-cashier worker on the floor to ask for a size, while I observe another customer approach a worker with a question and is told to hold on a minute while he finished doing something on his cell phone. This was 4:30 on a Monday, so the store wasn't particularly busy at all. Finally I manage the flag down a worker passing and he says he'll grab a Large for a coat I was interested in. 10-15 minutes later, he comes back and says he couldn't find it in their stock room. I ask if I can just get the Large coat off the mannequin, and he steps away to ask his colleagues, then unapologetically and without explanation returns with a plain "no" and awkwardly walked away from my now frustrated attitude . The staff here is just not friendly. I came to return a pair of dress pants I purchased the week before, because the button broke off literally the one day I wore it. Because I assumed the quality must not be that 'quality' I planned on just returning them. The cashier took them out of the bag and observed them with a confused look on her face, and was like "Did you wash these?? They look used.." And I said, "No I didn't wash them I wore them once and the button broke off which is why I'm trying to return them." She said if they've been worn they can't usually accept them because they have to put them back on the floor and they're damaged. Which I understand, but on the receipt it also says that all returns are accepted within 30 days and it had been 7. So she called her manager over, and the manager said I could exchange them and I said that's fine. After talking into her mic, she goes "Do you want something else?" I was like, "Oh can you not find them?" She's then said they didn't have them anymore. The whole vibe was just off and I felt as if I was bothering them by making the return. I asked if I could just receive a credit, and they said I could but it had to be store credit. I appreciate them giving me this and getting something out of it for sure, but overall I just had a weird experience and didn't have a good feeling upon leaving. I remember a few visits to Zara in my Euro-traveling days, and I believe I justified some credit card expenses there to supplement my backpacking wardrobe (don't judge, I was a broke law student)...so when we noticed the new Zara across the street from the Daley Center, we decided to check it out. I like their overall design of most of their items. On this store is also well equipped with fitting rooms on both floors. Though I really like Zara, the brand, this particular store is not run well. Clearly, the sales people do not work on commission because they do not want to lift a finger to help you. example - I was trying on a few items in the dressing room, and the two sales girls who were running the dressing room were talking about something that "happened last night" and "omg, look at this picture", and showing each other pictures off their phones. I stood there for 10 minutes outside the dressing room desperately trying to make eye contact with one of them to see if one of them could bring me different sizes. Finally, I had to say, "excuse me, could you please bring me a small in these pants?" The sales girls looked super annoyed, and went to look for my item, which took another 15 minutes (way too long, considering the item was literally around the corner). To me, poor customer service ruins the shopping experience. I was at a loss when writing this. I really wasn't certain how to rate this place. I think two stars is being generous. Keep in mind I have no idea how the women's clothing is or how the service in that department might be. First, to the ladies who think shopping in the men's department here is a breeze, I dissent. You are not an average looking gay guy faced with homosexual clerks who believe that in order to be served you must either possess Bradley Cooper's genes or a vagine. I've actually been ignored here on more than one occasion. I was actually going to buy a couple sweaters and a pair of jeans but dropped them when no one even acknowledged I was there, and I was the ONLY person in the department! Second, to those who think that the clothes here are something special, I again respectfully dissent. $80 for an acrylic sweater is not a deal. I will absolutely agree that the clothes look good, but whether a poor schlep in China is making them or some Portuguese widow, it's all the same cheap crap. Zara is H&M and Forever 21 but at twice the price point. This place is great if you enjoy wearing mediocrely constructed polyester and acrylic frocks. Spend a few dollars more gents and buy Ben Sherman or even Marc Jacobs. At least they use real fibers and thread to construct garments. read more

I should have read the other reviews and stayed away! I really hope that corporate is reading. The clothes here are beautiful, I must admit, but the service is absolutely horrible. My husband, 5 children (ages 3 to 10) and I paid a visit to this store today at about 2pm. We needed to update our children's wardrobe for our spring break vacation, so straight to the children's section upstairs we went. To my surprise, the kids section was completely empty. YaY! That was wonderful news to me. So my husband took our 4 sons to the boys side and I took our only daughter to the girls side. An attendant quickly showed up to ask if we needed any help. He took our huge piles of clothes back to the fitting rooms and the kids began to try things on. They only have two kids fitting rooms, so we took over both of them. Unfortunately, the rooms are located right next to a back door where employees were constantly rushing in and out. This was kind of a hassle because as the kids kept moving from room to room to show off the clothes, the curtains would open and the attendants walking through the door could see the kids changing. It was really awkward. When we were ready to check out, we all gathered around the register counter in the children's section. The attendant then informed us that his registers were closed, but the men's section registers on the other side and the registers on the first floor were open. Really? You saw us piling clothes that we wanted to purchase on the counter for about an hour and now you tell us that your registers are closed? The attendant should have informed us much earlier that the registers were closed, and he could have moved our stuff to an open register counter as we were making our selections. I understand that this is an unrealistic expectation when the store is packed with customers, but we were the only people in that section! Nevertheless, we grabbed the clothes and moved to the men's section on the other side. When we put the clothes down on the men's section register counter, the attendant told us that she was also closed and that we needed to check out down stairs. At this point my blood was really beginning to boil. I grabbed the clothes and we moved down stairs. The registers were open down stairs. However, the employee who was ringing was up was not happy to see us. We could tell that she was just not in the mood to ring up a thousand dollars worth of children's clothing. This woman sighed, rolled her eyes, and pouted the entire time she was removing hangers, removing security tags, folding and ringing up clothes. I have never been treated so rudely at a Zara store before. Here I was happy as a clam because I was buying some awesome clothes for my children, but it turns out that I was just a complete inconvenience to this woman. I was just wasting her time. Her reaction would not surprise me if my kids were acting like a bunch of monkeys, but they were all very well behaved. I promised them ice cream if our trip to the store went well, so they were all on their best behavior. All in all, I will never shop at Zara again. I love the clothes, but if I have to face asshole employees every time I visit the store, then I will just stay away. Grand opening of this new location was today. I went this morning around 10:30am. Beautiful clothes (I am a Zara fan), clean store, great merchandising, but I was really disappointed with the service. There were NUMEROUS Zara employees everywhere, yet it took over 10 mins for me to get greeted, and I passed at least 5 women on the floor doing absolutely nothing. As a former retail manager, I wouldn't stand for this with my employees. The grand opening should be even extra great service, extra fun atmosphere, music, etc, etc.....there was none of that. Then when I was checking out, the guy at the register took literally 10 mins to ring me up for 3 things...he went through 3 voided transactions and several buttons pushed on the register before he rang it up correctly (apparently a shirt marked at $9.90 was coming up for $12.90 and this was completely over his head on how to fix it). I understand it's the first day, but I know Zara trains their employees, and I'm sorry but cash registers of any kind are not that hard to figure out. Get it together people, and if you're not that bright, at least be extra friendly to make up for it so people won't lose patience with you! This store is also pretty small although there is a good selection of clothes, it's probably the smallest Zara I've ever been in. If I could give less than one star here I would. Let me start off by saying I think their clothing is very nice and worth the price. However my shopping experience each time I come into the store has been less than positive. So I go in today to try to buy a few piece of clothing for my husband as we're leaving out of town. I just left work and there's very limited trains to go to my home so I only have about 40 minutes. I quickly do my shopping get everything I need in about 10 minutes and then I go to the register. There is over 18 people in line at the register and only two registers are running. I go upstairs to the men's department to ask them if they could kindly open the register because there's so many people downstairs I'm told abruptly no go downstairs if you wanna buy something. I ask one of the ladies downstairs is there another register or is there any way or any other form of being able to be checked out of the store since there's so many people. Her response to me? Our clothes are worth it get in line and wait don't complain. So I took everything I throw it on the first rack and I leave the store. I don't need to get treated like a piece of garbage Because they're too lazy and I'm willing to open another register.
