Updating this review due to my experience a couple weeks ago with Jin Xiao. My partner and I went into this Gucci location to try on a pair of sneakers to purchase online due to our last experience. Jin was our associate and helped me find the right size. I told her about my last experience and she explained why my last purchase took so long to arrive and since she had my selection in stock, I would receive it in 5-7 business days. Funny how simple communication makes an experience completely different. She was such a great saleswoman, we ended up purchasing the sneakers, a purse, and a belt. All unplanned but well worth it. Great place to get ignored. I went into the store with the goal to buy 2 pairs of shoes. I knew exactly what I wanted. After 10 minutes sitting in the men's shoe area holding the shoes that I wanted to see I left the store. No one spoke to me. No one asked if I needed anything. My husband got a pair of Gucci Ace Embroidered Sneaker the ones with the snake as a gift from his godmother. Only wore them once, literally they still have the sticker on the sides for the size. They were worn just once for a house event dinner and after that, the left foot sneaker red python leather part in the back was peeled. He took them to the store and they kept them for over a week and called and left a voicemail saying "that is not a known issue and that they can't do anything". He was very disappointed and called them and spoke to Audrey who was the same person that left the voicemail and she said the same thing. He told her that is unacceptable because they were only worn once and he would expect a better quality. She said she would talk to her manager and she called back and said the same exact thing. He is so disappointed in the fact that such expensive shoes and that have such a special meaning to him, got damaged with one time wearing them inside the house. And the level of customer service at this location and the willingness from them to help is very disappointing. And to make matters worse, when he went to pick them up she stapled a business card to a nearby shoe repair place that she said they might be able to help. I appreciate a nice Gucci belt, but our Chicago flagship never seems to have any of the nicer, more unique, Gucci belts available. Often times, we have had to order them from NYC or from the N.J. headquarters. They do carry the obnoxiously large double G belts, which are a bit too loud for my taste. This was my third belt purchase, and while the staff is relatively helpful, I can almost bet that the pieces I want are not available in this store. If you're not familiar with Gucci belt sizes, I suggest you go into the store and try them on. Most women I know, that wear Gucci and Gucci belts, say the apparel/belts run small, but for me, they run true to size. If you're unsure on sizing, go in and try different belts, and order them in store. Shipping takes 2-3days. read more

Agreed to have it shipped to my home address in California since I was visiting from out of town and it would not arrive in time during my time in Chicago. ETA 1-3 or 1-4 would arrive in store then the sales associate, TROY, would text me to confirm the address once it arrived in the store. It is now 1/9. I have called customer service now 4 times and each time they said they have to contact the store directly and by email only. Today, the customer service rep said If he doesn't call me tonight by 10pm, then I will have to make my 5th phone call to gucci customer service and they will escalate the issue. Horrible experience as I am purchasing my first Gucci Bag. Customer service needs to be more efficient!! I was looking for a particular product and I am appalled by the experience that a woman with curly brown hair gave me. When I inquired if she had suggestions about where I could find the product or if they had another at a different flagship store, (this is something a well informed brand ambassador would know), she simply stated "oh maybe you can find one on a website not endorsed by our company" i.e a knockoff. I was so surprised by that statement and kind of in shock. First that a luxury goods ambassador would promote counterfeit items and second, I was insulted that she implied that I buy knockoffs. (I took trademark law and I am informed about NAFTA and the detrimental nature of knockoffs). Finally I asked if she had interlocking heart wallets, and she simply pointed her finger at some keychains and scoffed, before walking away. When I asked if the employee behind her, or anyone else working with her would know if they had the product, she asserted "that man is security, he would not know", as if her word was final. Who knew one little baby needed so much stuff? You may be wondering why I'm reviewing Gucci and talking about babies, but of course I'm going to need a fabulous purse (um, I mean diaper bag) to carry all that " baby stuff" in. My mom and I were showed the small selection (2 to be exact) of diaper bags by the very helpful Miguel. Miguel showed us all the departments in the bag for bottles, diapers, toys, the changing pad (genius) and even showed us how it snaps right onto the stroller. Nice! He was pretty confident this was the best diaper bag out there, although did suggest we check out a few bags as well across the street at Louis Vuitton. We appreciated that he wasn't overly pushy. These can be pretty pricey (especially for diaper bags), but figure I may as well splurge on a "purse" I really like if I'm going to be carrying it around day after day for several years. I'm still deciding between this and the Burberry, which is slightly bigger and less expensive, but figured I can't go wrong with either one. Oh, and if you're without child they obviously have many more awesome purses to choose from here. And I've seen pretty fabulous sales on ties for all the male yelpers out there! read more

My SA was very down to earth and I didn't feel pressured, uncomfortable or rushed. The stiff security guards are a little intimidating bc you can feel them watching you lol. I just had to review Gucci, even though my last trip here was two summers ago. On my visit, the salespeople were very helpful and down-to-earth. In addition to the pair of bamboo-detailed flats that I had my eye on, I also scored a sale pair of kitten-heeled signature gucci sandals that are equally as comfortable but 1000x more polished than my well-worn havianas. I'm so surprised by the poor customer service reviews. I've been here four times - with purchases made each time. Perhaps if you struggle with someone coming up to you scream for help or go ask someone to help you.. AVOID THIS LOCATION - customer service and return policy as disappointing as ever - especially during COVID. Why give them your money when you can go across the street to a different store that actually values it's customers. To start, I purchased a bag in-store and it took them 2 WEEKS to ship me my bag after purchase (with no communication/tracking number/eta). A few days later, when I tried to return the bag the store was closed due to COVID (understandable) and customer service told me to wait. But now I'm trying to return my bag after the store has re-opened and they WONT LET ME BECAUSE IT'S PAST THEIR 14 DAY RETURN POLICY. I purchased my bag on 2/29 and it arrived on 3/10. Their "COVID return policy" applies to 3/1-3/14. The store manager isn't making any exceptions or being understanding that once I received my bag in the mail it was already too late for me to return it. And that it was THEIR fault that my bag arrived so late in the first place (was told 3-5 business days). If you buy luxury goods, make sure the company you're purchasing from values you as a customer. This is not the case here! I feel ripped off. read more

Holy wow. I came in here today and was prepared to plunk down a significant amount of money on a special birthday gift to myself, courtesy of my very generous parents. I like to get significant items with the money they give me -- something I will treasure for many, many years. Mind you, I'm not a frequent shopper at Gucci but I have been to the store many times over the years. My very first designer bag was a Gucci bag, so the brand is very nostalgic to me. Overall the staff was very attentive and pleasant, but then I ended up with a salesperson who behaved as if I wasn't worth her time or effort. I'm not even sure if she made eye contact with me as she seemed very distracted by the other (higher spending? regular?) customers. I asked to see a bag, which they didn't have so I asked to see the smaller version of it so I could get a sense of what the larger item looked like. She didn't make the suggestion, I did -- as she continued to be distracted. Here's where things really got interesting, because I asked what the bag was made of -- believing it to be leather and the patented Gucci material on the inside, but wanting confirmation. She told me it was coated cotton. OK -- that didn't seem right but I didn't question her, and decided that well, if it isn't leather I wasn't about to place an order for the larger bag that I really wanted. Again, she didn't ask if I wanted to place an order or anything nor did she seem to have any interest in my feedback on the bag she showed me. The whole experience was sub-par. I get home this evening, a little disheartened at my Gucci purchase fail, and decide to look up the item online again and it CLEARLY says the bag is leather. Huh. So guess what? I'm ordering the bag online, and that's one less sale for Gucci retail store on Michigan Avenue from a snooty sales person and her misinformation. If that's the kind of service I can expect from the in-store experience, then I'm better off ordering online. No wonder retail is doing so poorly! read more

Beware horrible return policy! For Christmas my husband bought me a ring and necklace. The clasp on the necklace poked me in the neck and I wanted to return the items. Went to the store and was told we couldn't get our money back. I said "Why?" Was told "That's our return/holiday policy." And points to their little sign on the counter. As if that made a difference. The manager said they only will return items for credit back if it was 14 days after the purchase. I said wait a second so you're telling me if my husband buys me a Christmas gift on December 1st and I don't even open it till the 25th we're screwed and I better like it? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. She said while pointing to the sign again"I'm sorry it's store policy but we will gladly do an in store exchange." Could I have found something? So now I'm flabbergasted at this and it's just not sitting right with us. I called the Colorado store and they said "No problem we'll return it." Ok no big deal to me, proceeded to check out gave my info and sizing and had it shipped to my residence in CA because I didn't want to carry more items on the plane. Well idk what happened wit the package, it was delayed by UPS for a week long than Anticipated and then upon arrival, I got the wrong size and wrong color, the slides I ordered and wanted were tan and white. I got the black and red one which I didn't want. So now I had to send it back to the store because I guess they shipped to the store and then the store shipped it to me. I should have just waited to get to CA and just order for myself online. It would have saved me time and then by the time I got refunded the slides were out of stock on the sizing and color I wanted I know better next time just do it myself online.
