Firstly, I am glad Zara opened here so it saves me the hassles of traveling to other locations.. It is a big store, organized, ok staff (can definitely be better like the other stores around). My only problem is the collection.. 1/5 instances I would grab something that would have threads coming off from fabric or the buttons are loose and then they never have enough pieces of small sizes! That definitely puts me off because now I have to resort to online options or go to another Zara! Usually the staff at the counter are friendly and helpful! Absolutely atrocious service and beyond rude. I had an exchange to make, and ended up in the wrong line. I didn't think it was a big deal because there only myself and one other person in the purchase line and in the exchange line.. When it was my turn to make the exchange, the cashier said that I was in the wrong line (and by then a small line of 3-4 customers had formed after me). I told her that I realized that after the fact and there was only one other person in line with me at the time so I didn't think it was a big deal. She proceeded to roll eyes and tell me to get back in the other line. I asked her if she was serious because she clearly saw me standing in line way before everybody else. She said that she didn't see me and so I needed to move back to the end of the line. I ended up wasting 10 to 15 minutes and being the LAST person after the entire line of finished. When it was my turn, the cashier immediately walked away before I could come to the register and came back with the "manager". (Not sure why when I didn't say anything to her.) Then the manager came over and decided to join in on my return and speak to me in such a rude and condescending tone (I needed assistance finding my order number), it was shocking to say the least especially from a manager. Rude and defensive behavior all around from both of them. It's the presumptuous attitude that's unsettling. Maybe an explanation or even trying to be a little kinder would have make the experience better. I get that I made an honest mistake, but why roll your eyes and give such attitude then bring the manager over to also belittle and talk down to me? read more

I'm having a tough time picking a star rating for this location. I do love Zara; we've been shopping Zara overseas for years and were very excited when they came to the states. I think my rating for this location would be 2.5 stars. The lines are always so long and the level of customer service is very hit or miss. Lines get so long; I believe because of their large number of returns. Personally, I tend to order online and then return what I don't want to keep at this location. Pre-Covid, I would try stuff on in the store and then order what they didn't have my size in. Since Covid, their dressing rooms still have not reopened, so everyone is buying items and then needing to return. The Walnut Creek store has their dressing rooms open, and the line is not at all what it is in Pleasanton. After waiting in line, you would at least expect your cashier to be friendly. That is completely hit or miss here. I found items I wanted to purchase and waited in line, the cashier was less than friendly, didn't even greet me when I came to the register, and barely said anything when my transaction was complete. As I was leaving, I found an item that my daughter said she was looking for. I checked to see if it was available online, but it was not, so I grabbed it and headed back to the line. The line had gotten longer, so the wait was a bit on the crazy side now. Every single person in front of me was doing a return/exchange. The second cashier at least apologized for the wait and was pretty friendly and efficient. The store was clearly understaffed today, 2 cashiers working, and one person trying to stock items. The store was very messy today (at 10:30 am) and lots of empty spots. A third cashier (the friendly one who helped me the second time) showed up after I'd been in line awhile. I hope this store will soon reopen their dressing rooms which hopefully would reduce the number of returns happening and reduce the lines. Things to note when shopping with Zara: They are very strict about their return policy....don't be even a day late! No price adjustments. If you purchase an item and it goes on sale the next day, it's better to just return the more expensive one and order the sale price on line. read more

This is the worst managed location. Lines are extremely long because management has 5 employees on floor putting clothes away or just looking at clothes while only one associate is working behind 5 registers. Expect to wait atleast 45-60 min in these lines. Fitting rooms have been closed for 2 years now despite other locations having them open. Probably a major contributor to the long lines of returns. I was so disappointed about the customer service of this zara location ( Stoneridge mall). during the Covid time , the store didn't let customers to use the fitting room so I have to buy and try it at home that's y I have to return them cuz it can't fit me. I was here around 4:00pm on 6/28/20, I came here to return some items that I bought a couple days ago. The employee just chatting gossip with other employee all day long while doing a check out and at fitting room. I was waiting in front of fitting room for my pick up order. 5 of them are chatting and did not care to ask how they can help me. We made eye contact, they sure saw me and they just don't care. I made a return at other day because their fitting too is always closed. So I bought couple of cloth back for time because the size doesn't fit me. Walking in this store gave me the impression that their style of apparel for sale seems to cater to a specific group, population, or generation. The upper level is where the women's clothing can be found and the first floor includes the mens on the lower level. The quality of the clothes here does not match their high price tags. So.... today I went to Zara located in the Stone Valley mall in Pleasanton with my sister and my aunt. My aunt grabbed a few things and wanted to try them on but their fitting rooms were closed. From visuals, it looked like it was closed due to all the clothing filling the room, boxes and all. I mean it was overfilled. So my aunt had seen a few other people changing in a corner behind a clothing rack and had asked an employee if she could do the same, the employee said yes. So she waited and another woman lined up behind her. It was her turn and all she did was try on two pants. While my aunt was changing another woman came up with a baby and her younger kid. She wanted her kid to try on clothes she found but with a line forming and no dressing room she let her kid try on the clothes in a corner. The child had shorts and a tank top under so I saw no problem. She was just trying on clothes on top of her clothes to save a trip of returning items. Eventually a worker came over yelling "They're trying on clothes here this is not okay." (In the most annoying voice ever) Keep in mind this was in the very corner of the store where no one could really see. Also another worker had said it was fine. A line started to form for the diy dressing room and the same employee who had complained came back again to shoo the people. If i'm not mistaken I didn't see these people again. Great job losing customers! I also forgot to mention but someone, I assume an employee, had moved the clothing rack blocking my aunt. Luckily, she was dressed but I find that highly inappropriate. They could've asked if she was dressed prior to removing it. At this point I was upset but trying to stay calm. My aunt is done shopping and we get into the line. I was hoping we wouldn't get Ms. negative nancy but we did. As I remember, she did not say hi, or did not say our total. Talk about the best customer service ever!! My aunt tried to pay in cash but she said they did not accept cash. Girl. I had to step in and pay with my card which I had no problem with. But like, no cash seriously? My aunt was mad at this point and went to an employee to ask to speak to a manager. We went to speak with him and asked if they accepted cash. He said yes and that even if a register does not have, employees can borrow from other registers. So I'm guessing Ms.negative nancy didn't accept her cash because she hates herself. I don't know. Maybe it's because my aunt does not speak english?? I'm not sure. But this is why i'm writing this review. And Tanika/negative nancy/ employee who complained, or however you spell your name, if you're reading this, you suck! Other than that, the employees that were nice to us, enjoy your day and stay blessed. Every time I visit here the fitting rooms are closed. It was open for a bit while I was shopping, then when I collected clothing I was interested in trying on the fitting room closed. I asked the employee at the fitting room and she said not enough staff. So not true because why are you there cleaning up the clothes at the fitting room?? I just wasted an hour of my day going to Zara - the manager working today is extremely rude, topping off an otherwise frustrating experience. When I came to shop for a dress last month, I had to buy the same one in two sizes because Zara's fitting rooms are closed (other stores' fitting rooms in Stoneridge mall are open, just not Zara's). I stood in line for 20 minutes and then the cashier didn't know how to do a return... I then had to wait for the one cashier who could do returns to be available. When the woman helping me realized I was a week past the 30 day return window, she politely and apologetically told me I could only get store credit. I asked if she could make an exception due to the fitting room closure and the inconvenience. I just wanted my money back... she said she would radio the manager. While a long line of people waited behind me, I waited another 10 minutes for the manager to finally show up. In a huff, she said "it's past thirty days so I can only do store credit." I explained I live out of town and it was difficult for me to get back to the store, and I wouldn't have bought the dresses if the fitting room was open. She said "it's policy." Frustrated, I said it should be policy to have the dressing rooms open - she snapped "we're short staffed." She absolutely refused to return my money saying she'd have to "do it for everyone." I said I would take the credit and give it away for Christmas, since I wouldn't be shopping there again. She snarled "that's fine - do you want a box for the card, since it's a gift?" I understand sticking to company policy, but the manager was HORRIBLE and completely unsympathetic. I would have taken the credit and not thought much of it, but her awful attitude and inflexibility makes me never want to shop at Zara again. Wow, such terrible reviews on here. It is Covid times so staffing is hit or miss in all industries. Retail is no different. I had my first experience in a Zara store ever here and it was bigger and more affordable than I assumed. I bought two jackets and I look forward to wearing them. In terms of customer service, I was asked a couple of times if I needed assistance. The cashier wasn't overly friendly but she wasn't rude. She also didn't send me off with a broken bag and redid her bagging job. No complaints here! read more

This is the worst Zara store I have encountered. Fitting rooms aren't open to the customers so I have to get in the long line that usually takes about 40 minutes, purchase my item and go to the nearest restroom to try it on. One time I had to size down and I had to get back in the long line just to exchange. It's unfortunate because they have great clothes but sometimes the hassle is not worth it.
