The most comfortable dress shoes I've ever had came from this company. I retired them recently and am starting to look for a replacement. This store is super clean and has tons of variety. Dress shoes and more formal wear is what they are known for - but they do have some shoes and boots that look a bit more casual. I had the most comfortable shoes from this brand due to the super soft leather they were made from. Super soft and flexible. I don't like it when tough leather creases and stabs your foot or toe with every step. I picked up some belts as gifts - will be back to look for myself more one day soon. If you need to be in formal attire every day its so important to get shoes from here and maybe a ton of iron free shirts from Brooks Brothers - also nearby. Was shopping over the weekend at the Outlet Mall for new shoes for my upcoming wedding, and happened to pass by Johnston & Murphy. I'm not familiar with this brand, but decided to check the store out on a whim. Love their overall selection available, and wound up finding a pair that I liked, fit well, and was decently priced. As it was early on in our day, and we wanted to check out a few more stores first, the gentleman who assisted us kindly offered to put it on hold while we shopped around. In addition, he inquired about what else we were shopping for, and made some recommendations on some other stores that we could take a look at as well. After an exhausting day looking through the major brands, we found a few accessories that I wanted, but could not find another pair of shoes that I liked. When we returned to Johnston & Murphy, the same salesperson that was working from earlier was still there, and he both remembered me and the pair of shoes he put on hold for me, as well brought out some belts that I could try on. Having remembered our conversation earlier in the day when I mentioned I was also shopping for a new belt. When checking out, my fiancé noticed a very slight blemish on one of the shoes, and the salesperson very kindly buffed and polished both shoes for us without hesitation. And upon leaving, my fiancé noticed an elderly couple in the store in which the husband was wearing a cap from the same hotel we are getting married in at Hawaii. What a small world! Great experience, great service, and excellent quality and selection of men and women's formal footwear. Highly recommend this store, and will not hesitate to come shop here again! read more

I own 3 Pairs of woman's dress shoes that I've purchased from here and let. Me. Tell. You. Super high quality, and some of the most comfortable heels I've ever owned! I can literally wear my heels from here all day long, and I can't say that about any of the others I own. My husband loves their dress shirts too, super comfy and will structured so they're flattering. He's retired most of his Men's Warehouse shirts for these now. Walked in, not looking for anything in particular. The staff here is super nice. I walked around, didn't see anything that sparked my interest, and on my way out, there it was. I barely caught it from the corner of my eye. Colored dress shoe laces! Now this might seem like a weird thing to be excited about, but I swear, I have been looking on/off for more than 8 months for a simple pair of red laces. They had to be dress laces though, so those thick nylon ones wouldn't cut it. They had a smorgasbord of colors here. Margaret was SUPER nice, and she even went looking for more colors for me, which she found. These were on sale if you bought 10 pairs, which I did! I now have at least 3 pairs of laces for each of the shoes that I wanted the laces for. Super excited and can't wait to finally rock my red laces! Margaret is a keeper. You don't find many people working in a shoe store that is helpful, energetic and friendly. Hire more people just like her, and the next time, I'll probably buy some shoes too : ) read more

Great deal here buy 3 pairs of shoes get the 4th Free!! Brand New outlet store in Livermore. They carry the usual in-line outlet merchandise, but the treasure hunt is finding the great deals in the clearence sections. Johnston and Murphy is a high end shoe maker and they do not run too many sales at the regular locations so when I found a pair of shoes in the outlet store that was normal price $350 for $175 I was stoked! Customer service was excellent, store was clean and easy to shop. They also sell shirts, outerwear, small leather goods, and a decent selection of womens shoes, boots, purses, wallets and outerwear. The can drop ship orders so if you can't find your size have them check the computer and if they have it in another location they will ship it free to your house! read more

Great service! The two employees on a quiet Friday night were attentive and helpful when I asked some random shoe questions. The one male attendant was very expeditious in getting me the right size, and even laced up the shoes for me, a small bonus you never get anymore. The female attendant (maybe the manager) was really good at answering comfort questions. I ended up buying a pair of wingtips; little pricier than I usually pay, but I know J&M is quality, so hopefully lasts me for awhile. They paired nicely with my suit for my wedding, so not disappointed in the purchase. They also offer colorful alternative dress laces, but of course, they are not free, sadly. read more

I visited this location a few days ago after being told that Johnston and Murphy's has great shoes. I have never purchased them before so I did not really know what to expect from them. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Tami and was also assisted by her. From the get go, she was very nice, and very professional. I had started off by letting her know that I am not the easiest person to buy shoes for and I always struggle finding the right fit and size. She took it upon her to find the right size and shoe for me. I ended up walking away with a pair that I really liked and also got a pair of shoe trees and brushes. During the whole experience, she was always smiling and was always looking out for the best of my needs. I would recommend anyone looking for Johnston and Murphy's to come here and speak with her. Tami was the sweetest assistant manager ever! Visited the outlet at 11AM on a Wednesday, she immediately offered her recommendations based on our short discussion of my preferences and her style tips, checked backstock, pulled several styles and sizes just so i could browse, and we even went through the catalog together looking for some newer styles. Spent about an hour in there and ended up with some new Johnson & Murphys that are being mailed to my house and some socks too. Granted, i've got like 8 pairs already.. another one couldn't hurt! (beige sheepskins) Yes the employees at the SF location are friendly also, however every time I am inside there they're working on some project and moving shoes/clothes around. Really distracting when you consider the amount of guest traffic that flows through there on any given day.. Tami was running the show solo and helped every single customer that came through that door with phenomenal customer service. read more

The whole team here is extremely well trained and caring individuals. They are great at recommending products, showing you specials and figuring out what may be best for you which is a good and a bad thing because you may end up going broke lol I was getting ready for a trip and always ended up stopping back here and buying something whether it was a shirt, more shoes etc. Quality is great, may be a little pricey but you pay for what you get for sure.
