this review is in regard to the worst customer service I have EVER experienced at Zara. In the store Clothes were discarded everywhere including floors- no staff to assist -then insult to injuryi I had to stand in a long que for the checkout. Finally the worst insult was when I tried to return merchandise and the cashier said their barcode didn't match properly with the merchandise- she said there was an I store mistake- then tore off the label and would not give me a credit - so I'm stuck with a top that doesn't fit!!! And I'm out $69.99 plus tax Customer service on the phone did not resolve this and the chat disconnected me!!!!! I always promote good reviews , however this is absolutely the worst customer service - I will not purchase from Zara again. Not a fan. Similar to H&M but with a crappy selection & much higher prices, employees that think they're holier than thou, and the whole place was a mess. PS- the sizing is crazy... the US sizes are insanely small. The dressing room was in shambles. Every room was full of clothes that were tried on and left in there and I saw the attendant once in passing and she seemed annoyed to have to be there. I don't get why people like this place. I'll stick to H&M for lower prices, better designs, and friendlier service. read more

Zara is currently my favorite store to shop at because of there huge variety of clothing that ranges from work, casual, beach etc. They also have the best selection of good quality winter coats than any of the other stores in the mall. The coats here are are all super comfortable and double lined. They also fit me pretty well since they are more fit for European sizes as opposed to American sizes. This store is pretty large and has a great selection of clothing for both men and women. They have seasonal sales every few months which is the great time to pick up clothes since the clothes are more than 50% off. Otherwise the clothes are a bit overpriced. read more

Expect to wait in the check out line for 35-45 minutes, on a weekday morning. This store has always been understaffed. With the pandemic it's gone from bad to worse. Fitting rooms are not open. This place is a cluster. Mgmt does not know how to run a store. I dread waiting in line when I need to return items. read more

I love ZARA, but the service at this location is atrocious. The selection isn't that great, especially for their accessories, so I'd recommend purchasing online instead. You can bring your returns to the store with no problem. Shipping is free. Just do yourself a favor and buy online. Their stuff can be a hit or miss (quality wise), but I overall really like the trendy styles that Zara offers. I'm a jacket/blazer lover and they always have some pretty cool jackets. I only shop at this location when I'm at the mall because most of the time when I see something I like online, I can't find it at the store. So like I already mentioned, I do most of my shopping online. Every single time I've been at the store, I've gotten the same overall negative aura of the employees. Are they trained to be smug?? I've never been asked if I needed help (not like I need any) and no one has ever said hello to me or asked how I'm doing. They literally walk around with their noses in the air. I just find it SO WEIRD for such a small store! You might see that in large department stores (I'm saying MIGHT) but small stores typically have to kiss major ass for clientele/customers. It's not a high class boutique and their merchandise is in the same price range as a store like Express. I doubt the associates are getting more than minimum wage.. Hmm, not so impressed with Zara. I'd heard many raves from friends about how they'd been to Zara in Europe or in other states, and I was excited enough about its appearance at Old Orchard that I planned an outing amongst coworkers during our lunch break. Prices are typically expensive, and I noticed on a few occasions that they don't consistently have all sizes in stock. In fact, I rarely saw any XS's or S's in the clothing items that caught my eye. Uh, I would think that if a store is making a debut at a high traffic mall, it would be very well stocked. I did like that Zara has shoes displayed all around the store. It added a unique touch, whereas other clothing stores that sell shoes have one devoted section for them. read more

Terrible experience in every step of the experience. The line to checkout was snaking around the store for the one register that was open. Very under staffed. They finally opened a second register that we were instructed to go to for purchase only option. I went over there and there was someone returning TWO shopping bags full of online orders. This person did not even care that everyone behind her had already been waiting for 30-40 minutes to checkout. We only stayed and paid because we had already invested so much time. I went to Europe with my family winter break during my freshman year of college. When we were back in Rome, we decided to squeeze in some shopping, so we went to Zara. The selection was huge - I had been to Forever 21, but this store seemed even more grown-up and sophisticated! I was in awe. I was in enough awe to buy a black short-sleeved turtleneck that I still love to wear. (I brought it back to school that January, and when my international roommate was at home over her break, she had bought THE EXACT SAME SHIRT. Crazy.) Of course, I had nothing but good memories regarding Zara. When I heard that they were setting up shop in Old Orchard, I was thrilled. However, those feelings soon turned to disappointment as I realized how meager the selection was. (The customer service ain't much either.) I'm not giving it one star because it was relatively organized, and I wound up finding (I think) two nice items. Ultimately, though, this Zara outpost is a HUGE let-down and a waste of your precious time at the mall that Mean Girls made famous. read more

I love the fashions at Zara! But the service and store organization is lacking, a lot. Was at the Old Orchard store last Friday about 11:30am. There were 5 people in line with only ONE register open - including men's dept. and upstairs. One of the ladies asked if there was another register open, "No." Then asked if another register could be opened? - "No, since I'm the only one here trained on the register." (FYI - I counted 4 employees in the first floor ladies dept.) I felt this was false because the cashier then paged a manager to help with a return and find it hard to believe that the manager is not trained on the register. When the manager saw the line you would expect her to jump in and open another register - but, no. Seriously, the lines at the DMV move faster. Don't even get me started on the hurricane that had hit the store. Clothes everywhere, dressing rooms dirty. I asked the sales clerk in the dressing room, what gives? This is what a store looks like after a busy weekend but on the Friday before the weekend? She shrugged. read more

Are fitting rooms a thing of the past at Zara? I think yes. Here's why: 1. Lots of people buy a size up or down when they can't try on an item intending to return one later. They end up not returning it (not keen to wait in a long line?) and Zara makes double sales.$ 2. Fitting rooms have to be staffed and maintained. Clothes have to be sorted and returned to the floor. Zara needs fewer staff members on the floor if there are no fitting rooms.$ 3. Fitting rooms are the perfect cover for theft. No fitting rooms results in less theft for Zara, another boost for their bottom line.$ Although this new business model for Zara is profitable, I really miss the moment when you try on that perfect thing and you feel good. I'm not motivated to shop when I can't try on the clothes because the joyful moment is gone. Undoubtedly other customers feel the same. read more

Either completely understaffed or just poorly managed. There was a line of about 8 people at the main women's cash wrap. One employee who kept directing people to other cashwraps either in men's or upstairs. Super annoying because I just had been directed to come down from the 2nd floor after I asked them if the register was open. Why don't they bring employees temporarily to the busiest cashwrap instead of making those who have been waiting in line 15 min or more and lose their spots. Seems like when you do that, those at the end of the line get to cut ahead. Employees seem disinterested in engaging anyone and when manager was called down to approve something, she didn't take it upon herself to address the huge line in front of her eyes. read more

The selection here is pretty hit or miss, definitely not as great as the locations in the city. Also, the lines here are always long, despite having what seems like sufficient staff. You might get bounced around when trying to pick up an online order. Also, the upstairs fitting room is always closed off and the staff is generally unfriendly and seems more interested in socializing rather than being bothered to help customers. Also, if you try to call and check on the availability of an item, they might tell you they don't do that and to go check online. Don't buy it, just talk to someone else or call back and talk to someone who is actually willing to help you. read more

If I could give negative reviews I would. After reading the reviews I still went to this location because they had an item in stock in my size. The staff is definitely rude like most of these comments. I WATCHED a lady ring someone out in front of me so I stepped to the register and she gives me a nasty look and goes "you got a purchase?" I said yes and she goes "purchases are downstairs." I said to her "...I just watched you ring someone out" and she replies with her b*tch attitude "purchases are downstairs." Like I'm sorry you work at a Zara and your life sucks but that's not my damn problem for you to be rude to everyone. THEN I go downstairs and I'm the only one and the woman there looks at me then starts folding clothes and I'm just standing there and she goes "you ready?" No I was just standing in the area for purchases with my clothes in my hand for fun. Like??? Then she rings me out and the register isn't working so she asks another worker to go get the girl upstairs to come help (she never comes of course cause why would she?") long line forms behind me and none of the employees give a damn in the world. Actually no store infuriates me more than this one. Employees are rude and dismissive and straight up unhelpful. But the thing that irritates me the most is the LINES. The checkout line is absurd and has been absurd for years even before the pandemic. Only one person working at each cashier and I actually wonder if they get told during training to take as long as possible to check someone out. I'm not kidding I dread going to this store because the lines are unbearable. So many times I have walked out because of how frustrated I was with the poor customer service. The customer service is the WORST!!! MAYBE START BY PUTTING SIGNS UP to let customers who have already paid for their items that are just there to pick up, that they don't have to WAIT IN A LONG LONG LINE like all of the other customers doing their shopping. My fiance had to wait in a 30 minute long line after being told, "oh, you didn't have to wait." HOW WAS HE TO KNOW THAT???? To top it off, the items that were ready to be picked up and paid for already could not be found. So, he waited for another 20 minutes for the irresponsible, messy and disorganzied staff to actually find the order. Only 2 scarves! What an awful little store!!! I personally love the brand and its clothes. Nonetheless I was disappointed with the manager and staff at this location. I tried to make a simple exchange that turned into a bigger issue than it should have. First Jamie, one of the managers, accused me of wearing it (it still had the tag on), then another manager lied to me that it was out of season. I've then had to call customer service on my own to reassure that it in fact was still returnable. Worst customer service I have ever received. Try to avoid this location as much as possible! I had an absolutely terrible situation at this store and encourage fans of Zara to shop at any other location! The service here is appalling! Despite the fact that I wasn't even acknowledge when walking around the store by any employees, I found some items I wanted. When trying to purchase clothes I was treated so poorly by the rude and inappropriately employee that I left my clothes on the counter saying "Actually nevermind I don't need these clothes" and leaving the store, not wanting to spend money after being treated so badly. The women I was with encouraged me to call and complain, saying the manager needs to know the situation, wouldn't you want to know if an employee was being rude to customers? Especially in this economy? When I called the manager to complain he told me that he had witnessed the situation. Perhaps he has an invisibility cloak because of the fact that we were the only customers and there were no other employees in sight. He then scolded me for my behavior saying that I had used profanity and that he did not expect his employees to treat me nicely when I acted that way. No profanity was used, I didn't raise my voice or say one negative thing... I said "Actually nevermind, I don't need these clothes". So either he witnessed another similar situation with the same rude employee, or he was lying, I'm not sure which... A poor employee I can get over, but an awful manager who does nothing to ease the pain of a disgruntled customer? That is not acceptable. Zara you have lost three of your best customers, and I will not stop telling this story. I have never been treated more poorly by a retailer or service provider or even a mean girl in high school. THIS IS NOT A COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH! This company is awful. My wife bought two pairs of pants from this place. Upon getting home she opened her shopping bag only to find there was just one pair in the bag. She called the store to alert them that they had only placed one pair of pants in her bag. The salesperson was aware of the mistake and said they would take care of it. Two weeks later my wife received an email from corporate headquarters informing her that she would not be refunded nor would the pants be replaced. I'm sure rent isn't cheap at Old Orchard, maybe this is how this garbage fire of a company keeps the lights on. read more

Worst customer service due to poor management. I went in the store to return a defective work briefcase that has fallen apart in less than 6 months - strings coming out of everywhere and the strap has broken. It has been in less than a dozen meetings. The store manager Sheema or something, I was told they cannot give out names of their managers, due to "corporate policy" which I have not been able to find this policy or reference, was extremely rude and unapologetic towards the condition of the item. She said she can't help me because the bag is not in season anymore, which on Zara's return policy document online does not say that can be a reason to not be able to return a defective item in store. Not only are the employees uninformed about their own policies but also under poor supervision of an unempathetic manager. What a shame. Will never be shopping at this store again. Very upset with the service here. I purchased big boots, a big vest, and a jacket and sweat suit and the associate stuffed them all in one bag. When I addressed the bag may rip she said "excuse me" and I ended up leaving. Before I made it to the car the bag ripped and I lost my receipt but since they closed at 5:50 instead of 6 I couldn't go back and get a bag and was forced to scoop my stuff to the car. When I got home nothing fit and now I can't return anything because I have no receipt. When I addressed the problem customer service was not helpful neither was the manager. Now I'm stuck with $300 worth of stuff I can't return all because they're cheap with bags. read more

Alexandra is the by far the worst manager ever with very poor customer service. I called to see if they had a specific item in stock because the drive takes 30min. I spoke with Alexandra and she said they had the item in stock. I told her I was on my way there and will be there in the next 30 min. I get there exactly 30 min later and I ask for her and asked for the jacket and she said nonchalantly we don't have that jacket in stock. I told her you got to be kidding me I just talk to you 30min ago. She fake like she was looking for it and never came back. She lied about her position and said she was an associate turned out she was a manager. Also she had her associate Juan lying for her too trying to cover for her. I don't understand why she intentionally went out her way to inconvenience a customer. Never again will I shop at Zara! read more
