The staff here said hi as I entered and then gave me the freedom to browse. Anyway, it's a lovely little store with some really nice things. It's not just a clothing store, which I appreciate. They do have clothing, but when I was here most of the merchandise was non-clothing; books, toys, games, and so on. The prices weren't super out of line with other children's stores around. The clothing is more on the expensive end--they don't really seem to sell mid-range stuff here. But it's high quality children's clothing (but do check labels--I've been to some children's stores where dry clean is recommended and that's not something I can justify for children's clothing, though I do forget to check the labels). I stopped in to see if I could find something for my friend's son for his birthday, but didn't find something that jumped out on me at this trip. I am not in Northfield very often, so it's not a shop that would be a place that I would just pop by. But if you're looking for something special or a nice gift it would be a good place to take a look.

Maya Papaya is primarily a clothing store, and let me tell you...it's cuuuuute and the owner is super sweet. I've been coming here for years, and though my kiddos are too old now for the clothes, they still have a small selection of gifty items, fun for all ages. From trivia card games to books, their section of toys is geared toward the younger crowd. The clothes are well-edited, and you'll find a fairly mid-to upper scale collection of both boys and girls clothing and onesies for infants with cute sayings like *Bundle of Oy*! And, they also carry adorable shoes. For the parent who wants to take a chill moment, they also have a nice seating area where you can take a break from the kiddie rat race. This store used to be down the street and around the corner. Their new location is much bigger and right on the corner. I've never had a problem getting rockstar street parking out front, but take note, there is a small step up for those with strollers. But, I'm sure Simone will be more than happy to hold the door :-)

Received a gift from this place, gift wrapped by this place, and tried to return it last weekend…read more The lady working said it could not be returned because there was no gift receipt. I asked if she could look up the items in her inventory to see what the price was so I could get credit and make an exchange. The items were all unused with original tags on them. Nope, still nonreturnable. So basically, a friend buys a gift, the store doesn't put a gift receipt in when they wrap it, and then they forbid you to return it. Also, the entire store smells like cat food.

I will go to the one downtown on Michigan Ave. as they are always friendly and willing to help find stuff, even at closing time. They also have a wider selection than this selection, it's very limited. They have lost my business at this location. Gap needs to seriously hold a diversity and inclusion training for those two nuts!!! I felt offended last night.

The Men's section is a little more than a third in floor space--a remarkable size compared to what we usually get in other clothing stores. Throughout the store, the lighting is better, the racks are spaced out, the clothing is grouped in style and not so randomly placed as in their previous location. Zara and H&M are closely linked, style-wise, but Zara has better quality, and thus, higher prices. I appreciated two salespeople asking me if I needed help--better customer service to go along with their spiffy new location.

Zara's always had a variety of nice clothes but this new store located to the south of the old store is on a different level. The new flagship store has a beautiful exterior facade. The clothes and displays are all new and beautifully laid out. The have a nice assortment of clothes along with/a whole slew of reduced price discounted items on racks & along the walls.

I visited for the first time today in order to look for some cold weather clothing for my daughter…read moresince we're expecting our first really cold days and probably snow. The stars aligned because I got some great gear and fantastic prices. One piece I picked up was a Patagonia snow bib and I can't believe my luck because my daughter, who's been in the 90%+ percentile since she was a couple weeks old, fit it perfectly even though it was a size 3. It was $60 at Gabriel's, and the same or a similar snow bib was $100 more at the Patagonia store. I also got a pair of nice mittens, and a great coat for my babe... really great finds. They have more than just clothing. There are toys, I saw some babywearing baby holders, shoes, books, and so on. They carry things by season I think, so definitely worth visiting every few months at least! They also post their items online, so you can purchase and arrange for local pickup or ship. I think the employee said that for orders over $75 shipping is free, otherwise it's $9. If you order for pickup, they ask that you do so within seven days. It's super helpful that they have a small gated area with some kids toys, which kept my daughter busy whilst we were here (kept her attention so well that I struggled to get her to try on a few things). The one thing that I wish they did have was some sort of dressing room. I don't like having to return things, so I want to make sure they fit on the spot! Also, since their return policy is 7 days for store credit only, making sure things fit properly is even more important to me. If the shop has any dedicated parking, I don't know where it is. Luckily, we were able to find some street parking right on Prospect around the corner from the store. It's also located in Uptown, so there's a good deal of free 3-hour parking in the area by the library and the other shops down the block.

It made it so much easier for me to make this order, especially with a kid who's potty training (so I wanted to be as efficient as possible with the trip). I don't have the app or a login but they were gracious enough to help me anyway and indeed were very helpful. The clothes I picked up are super cute and fit kinda well now but will fit very well in a couple months. Lots of parking since it's in the middle of the Village Crossing shopping center. It's on the side near Michaels and Jewel. If you use curbside, they have a couple of dedicated parking spots for you.
