I tried to like it. Ive been multiple times and ive forgiven the lack of flavors, non attentive staff, and cheap drinks. But i just cant do it. For a family owned place it doesnt feel like it, they shoukd get some higher end whiskeys, tequilas, bourbons and such. It would make a difference. Also it helps to smile. the food is great although what i really liked is the staff which is A++ we came here with our 1yo which as you can image can be challenging and the staff provided extra napkins and a small spoon knowing without having to ask. trust me this is very rare! as is the fact that the staff truly works as a team. for example, if a staff member would be walking buy and see that my soda's low they would handle it instead of having the customer wait for the main person covering the table. I went for a casual dinner with my wife and daughter. We had an excellent meal with attentive service - big thumbs-up from all! We had a trio (relleno, pork taco, and chicken enchilada), flautas, and chicken fajitas with WAY more food than we could handle. Dos Equis on tap and a great margarita made it even better. On first arrival I had mixed reviews about this place, it was a little hole in the wall I never really heard much about. I walked in and although it was rather tacky, the food blew me away. It's no five star restaurant but it is clearly a family owned little business, and those are the best kinds to support. I feel the staff is a little rusty with the English language, but that is to be expected at a foreign based establishment such as this. The language barrier is not a big deal, the staff is very friendly and if you don't understand much about the food, they'll gladly help you out. The chips and salsa, I believe, are both homemade and complimentary, it's a good thing to snack on if you went there for drinks such as margaritas which are very tasty there, and mixed well. The one thing I always found a bit obscure was there are two sides to the place (one door leads to a side with a bar and tables for seating and dining; the other side has just tables and chairs for dining), I don't know if they plan on renovating and knocking down the middle wall and moving the bar to one side, it will add a lot more room. However, that is one minor setback to this little place that packs a punch. read more

Have tried over and over to love this place as we live in town but hard when our dishes are either overcooked, cold, bland or poorly done. We went there last night and our waitress was inattentive, pork enchiladas sauce was very sweet and my pupusas had little to no filling and tasted just like poorly bland grilled tortillas. Sides were cold and Cole slaw needed to dressed. Time before fish was way overcooked. We are very familiar with authentic dishes from Central America as we spend 4 months there every year. This is an average interpretation meant for New Englanders or we just not have found a dish they excel at yet. Too bad as owners are very nice. Go for drinks and appetizer but head somewhere else for dinner. read more

Not a bad place to go. The food was good with large portions. I asked for a spicier salsa dip sauce and somethingthe green sauce they brought out had a bit of kick, but not with the punch that I enjoy. The enchiladas with beans and rice were just fine. The wait staff was great, very attentive and helpful; even the owner came over to be sure things were OK. I saw him go to other tables, so I know this is something usually done. I was there on a Saturday when there were sports pounding from the TVs, but there was a nice touch when they put on a few Mexican music videos. Somehow Pit Bull was snuck in, but that was OK. The only issue I had was I thought it was a bit too expensive, which is why I am not there as much as I would like. read more

Only been there once so I'll stop at 4 stars but it was a great lunch. It was quiet and the service was great. We got combo plates and everything was delicious. The sign out fron first caught my eye a few days before and the decor is very colorful and fun. They really did a nice job with everything. read more

The food was fine, but one thing wasn't and I felt others deserved to know. In fact, I've never had a Yelp account before, but this particular detail vexed me enough to create one so I could warn the unsuspecting. I trust that I'm 'preaching to the choir' when I say you'd be surprised if you went to a Bertucci's and found out only when receiving the bill that soda refills had a cost. Why? Because every restaurant of that general type, Olive Garden, Friday's, Ruby Tuesday's, Outback, whatever, that you've ever been to, does NOT charge for refills. It might not be a law, but it's certainly the convention for that industry. The same is true for Mexican restaurants when it comes to the traditional nacho chips and salsa. I've eaten from taco stands in the streets of Mexico, right on up to 'high-end' Mexican restaurants here in the US and I have never been charged for those items. By convention, or whatever, those are complimentary from the house, not only put on your table before you've even been served, but also refills. They're just part of the service and experience. So, imagine my surprise when the bill came and I found $5.50 of unexpected charges for nacho chips & salsa. In fairness, there was no charge for round 1. But after that, there was a charge of $1 for each of 3 salsa refills (total $3) plus $2.50 for a nacho chips & salsa refill. I could understand this if we had just come and ordered a couple sodas with the inention of taking advantage of free nacho chips, but our order was for Zarapes Trio for $15.99, Tacos Asada for $12.99, a margarita for $7.50, and a lemonade for $3.00. So, sadly, I will not go back to this restaurant. I know that $5.50 isn't like losing my life savings, just like you can't compare a slap in the face to being stabbed in the back......but then....that's not the point is it? So me and my girlfriend decided to try a New Mexican restaurant. This was the wrong place to go. The drinks are good but other than that some of the staff is very rude and lack attending to you. The food is okay. If the staff was friendlier I believe this place would be a lot better. read more

Fantastic food, drinks, and great people!

Went for lunch today with a group from work. My first time having pupusas and absolutely loved it. Had that with an enchilada, rice and beans. All were fantastic, including the rice which I often find very bland at most Mexican restaurants. I'll definitely be back, especially when I can get a filling lunch like that for less than $10. I heard this was great plus it delivered so I gave it a shot, I ordered a burrito chicken and queso dipping sauce. First off the burrito was so so,it was a a big slop and the rice beans and burrito tasted the same, but then I looked at the queso dipping sauce and it was a hard thick slop of melting cheese with a stack of meat in the middle it smelled bad and tasted ever worse. I dont know if the guy on the phone did not understand me but this was really bad, and to add matters worse it was $20 dollars way to much for a burrito and sauce. Plus the guy on the phone gave poor customer service.... I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN NOR RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE, its sad to say this but Taco Bell is gourmet compared to this place..very disappointed wish I could get my money back because I didnt eat it read more
