Always love coming here for a quick but tasty meal with great service. The bar area here is awesome - plenty of comfy seats with TVs that usually have different sporting events on. Nice festive music always playing throughout the restaurant as well. They also stay open a bit later than other places in the area, so we love coming here for a later dinner during the week or on the weekend. The food is excellent - some favorites are the Enchiladas, Three Amigos, and the chicken tortilla soup. Will keep coming back here when having a craving for Mexican as it's that good! read more

I wanted a quick, easy lunch so stopped in on a cold afternoon. I sat at the bar and had a beer and a grilled chicken quesadilla. Simple but super tasty. Beer was cold and in an ice cold glass. Did I hit this spot up on a bad night? Maybe. But my experience wasn't great, regardless. Two of us showed up on a Friday evening by 7pm. We were seated quickly, but then we just waited and waited and waited. All of the tables around us were getting service except for us, and there was a table behind us that looked like they had been waiting for the bill for quite some time. I finally grabbed a waiter from the table next to us and asked if he knew if we had someone assigned to our table. he said he was happy to help us and then came back and said there was some confusion and it looks like we ended up being assigned to him. He was quite friendly and I had no problem with him but looking around it seemed they were very little staff to actually wait on tables. We both ordered a margarita flight. I had previously been to the Bellingham location and they serve them in different glasses which admittedly were cuter but that's okay. The margaritas were OK - seemed like a lot of mixers and juice rather than fresh stuff and alcohol. We ordered the white cheese dip, which was pretty good. A nice level of heat. We also both ordered the Carne Asada. He asked us how we wanted them, and we both wanted them medium rare to rare. When they arrived at our table, they were certainly not anything close to that. They were medium well for sure. That was a little bit of a bummer. Also they were incredibly thin and small for the price that we paid. I was expecting a little bit more meat on the plate. The steak was also SUPER fatty, with chunks of fat and what felt like cartilage. We were also asked if we wanted corn or flour tortillas and even though I asked for corn I got flour anyway. At that point I really didn't care what I got anymore. Everything just seemed a little subpar from the moment we sat down until we left. In the past people had told me that the Milford location was actually better than Bellingham. I'm wondering if this is still true. I'm a little bummed because I was really craving a margarita flight that hit the spot and a really good steak. I didn't get either. I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to go here again. read more

The food here is good, not great, but you can't beat the Taco Tuesdays deal for value. For $1.50 each, you'll can choose between the ground beef or pulled chicken taco. The chips and salsa are free and, in my opinion, very good. I usually get a side of fresh guacamole for an additional $4. Sodas are also $4 each. My son and I prefer the chicken tacos but he likes the crunchy shells while I prefer the soft ones. The servers always have a smile and try to accommodate a request. The walls are deep red, muted orange, and guacamole green with large suns and metallic pictures of Mexico. They play relaxing music in Spanish with a heavy influence of acoustic guitar. For a little over $20 we had a good meal at a fabulous price. read more

Dined at the new Sol De Mexico on a Thursday evening with 3 people. Arrived around 6:00 and the restaurant was about 50% occupied. We were seated right away at the large round table located behind the front desk area. The table was somewhat isolated from others and had a good view of a huge tv. Initially it was a good table until we had to sit forward and reach for everything, but the seats were comfortable. Our waitperson was training a new server and we ordered fajitas, green burrito, quesadillas and chicken tamale with mole sauce for dinner. We started with a shared pitcher of margaritas. We snacked on chips, salsa, and guacamole made table side while we waited for the margarita pitcher. The food and drinks were good and consistent with the Bellingham restaurant which is where we usually eat. The wait staff was friendly but they have a few wrinkles to work out. Both the pitcher and food took much longer than we expected for a Thursday. The tamale never made it to the table. Our waitperson apologized, removed it from the bill and brought a tamale in a togo container. Overall we had a pleasant time and will be back. read more

I had a very, very nice birthday feast here last night with my boyfriend, 2 adult sons, and daughter. Let me say the food is great, HUGE, and a good value. Service was very good - they put us in a separate dining area that wasn't crowded, and the gentleman waiting on us constantly replenished our water, chips and salsa. My boyfriend and I split the steak fajitas for 2. The beef was a bit on the chewy side, but it was a good and very generous dish. My daughter's burrito with salsa verde was spectacular. My younger son had a platter of food in front of him (3 Amigos?) with carnitas, beef, chile relleno, and other stuff that would have fed the Bulgarian army (he cleaned his plate). Great food; great service; great value (5 people with an absolutely gluttonous amount of food but no drinks - only $110 before tip). Highly recommend. We'll be back. read more

Hubby and I finally tried out this great spot. We were both very pleased with the service, food and atmosphere. Prices were reasonable. Hubby tried the Pollo Chipotle dish and he loved it. Of course he replaced the rice with his favorite side...French fries. The chicken piece was a good size to indulge. French fries was a great amount. My Mexican Platter Dish was excellent. No complaints whatsoever. Definitely filled both our bellies. Service was excellent. Server was attentive, helpful and friendly. Most importantly the atmosphere was nice. Very nice space and great bar seating. Many choices of Margaritas made to order. On the other hand, my last two experiences with the food was less than stellar. Had the mixed fajitas of Steak (could hardly chew the extremely over cooked meat) Chicken (charred and hard as a rock, and Shrimp which was good but only 3 small pieces. 2 strikes! It pains me to write this, because for years , this was our go-to place. Consistently delicious, we always ordered the same thing, going twice a month. But our most recent visit after months away, this was a BIG disappointment. While the service was great, the food quality and the taste was just... barely passable. Hubby's mocajete meat was chewy, fat filled meat, with a VERY different sauce, and not a better one. My basic chile rellanos also had a funky sauce. And our welcome chips and salsa featured some pretty stale chips. Argh, I'm sad. I'm hoping this was an off night but... all those disappointments combined make me leary for a future visit. The food was good but service was sub par friendly but spoke little English so we ordered the guacamole the lady asked if we would like more chips we said yes and waited and waited for a good 15 mins looking at the quac with no chips lol until our server came and we asked again for chips then when we ate we asked for a napkin and never got one and waited another 15 mins until the server came with the bill we paid and left. My grandson left a toy that he just got he forgot it on the table we called to find out if they have it and they said no. We were there to visit a friend and invited as to this Mexican restaurant we ordered wings which is a typical hot wing, a calamari that is loaded of shredded lettuce and not too crispy calamari and ceviche which is a okay. Then I ordered this taquitos mexicanos which is a fried rolled up tacos with chicken and beef, they were crispy and taste good and again full of shredded lettuce which is not really necessary for that kind of food. Restaurant or nightclub? My experience last night for a late dinner was that of dining in a nightclub. Arrived at 830 and seated at a high top table. Service was slow but not terrible. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Music was quite loud and playing a variety. Around 9:00 music got louder, laser lights and strobes started going (which could be problematic for those with strobe light sensitivities). Around 9:30 the music became so loud that while we were eating our entrees, we could not hear each other at all, even yelling) At 10, as we were finishing and paying our bill, music got a bit louder and the lights went drastically low. Bottom line is the food was good, the drinks were average to good (didn't appreciate not having prices for drinks on the menu), but the ambiance was confusing and not enjoyable. Not sure if I'll be back. If so, I'll come much earlier. My family says there are other Mexican restaurants with equal food and a better experience. read more

This place is nothing like the one in Bellingham. The one in Bellingham, MA has amazing service, food is delicious and flavors are outstanding. I have now two times order the same dishes we order at the one in Bellingham and they do not compare. The food to go is another issue. The price is the same but the quality and quantity is half of what it should be or what you get a the one in Bellingham. They even forgot the tortillas that were supposed to be with my dish. My spinach chicken enchiladas couldn't even be seeing because there were overly covered in cheese. I had to take it out with a spoon. I will not be going back. I much rather go to their competitors across the street. Hopefully they will read the reviews and get better with time. Positive: The location is great and the decor is beautifully done. read more

We WERE regulars at Sol. Today we went and tried the calamari. It was disappointing. Was like frozen already over breaded, horribly tasting, tiny strings of rubber. We refused the plate, and they wouldn't take it off of the bill. The shrimp cevech' had no flavor. This is a staple for us, such a great lime based dish. No flavor, and full of chopped tomatoes. The Pollo Mango chicken, dry and differently flavored than the normal. Mangos were also no where near ripe. A total let down, and just incase there were a new cook,(in which case,we would have gone back another time) we asked, and no, cook was not new. Just all around disappointing. read more

I will start by saying the food is pretty decent here and the portions are good size. Unfortunately, when they first opened the Milford location, we visited and the service was poor at best. We chalked it up to new staff and new location. Since then, we've eaten there several times and had pretty positive experiences. The last few times though, the service wasn't so great. The bar tap was broken on two occasions so no beer no-tap was available. The last time, they ran out of several beers on tap. 3 visits in a row and no tap beer. I was beyond disappointed, since one of their selling points is the size of the "tall" beers and the large margarita glasses. I will also add that unless you speak Spanish, you'll get very little attention from the bartender. Management needs to pay attention to what's going on within this location. Your food is great and the restaurant is beautifully set up. Don't let it fail because of lack of oversight. read more
