We'd been here a few times before as it's one of our must stops when visiting the island. Compared to prior visits, I was disappointed with my interaction with the staff this trip. I noticed the entire time I was there, one staff member was monitoring a table that had samples of olive oil and ciabatta bread they offer to customers. It seemed apparent she was annoyed that not everyone was using the toothpicks to pick up the bread to sample the olive oil. Yelling at everyone to use the toothpicks has to be frustrating. If it bothers you that much that some people don't see/use the toothpicks, maybe don't offer free samples? My entire family walked in and spent well over $100 each. They have a great selection of food, wine and gifts. I just wish they were a little more friendly. read more

This is such a hidden gem! A must stop if you are staying here for a bit. They have absolutely everything you need for a fabulous dinner at your house. Cheese, olive oil, wine, meats, pasta, & desserts. We tried the Garlic olive oil with some bread and it was delicious. Ka 2 hours ago NEW Went to this place yesterday before headed to the beach for the after all this is a beach town so yes we were in beach attire, after all six of us had been walking about for about 10 mins some of us were done and headed outside to wait until the others were done shopping, no one said anything to us about what we were wearing a shirt inside until the lady behind the front counter looked at my daughters best friend and said you have to leave you need a shirt on, she was very upset and came out and told me what happened so I went back in and purposely went to that person and asked some questions about their products and I didn't have a shirt on and she didn't ask me to leave. The first pic is me and then my daughter and then her friend. She believes she was targeted because she was the only African-American person in the store. This is a beach community. People were walking around with their bathing suits on all over the place so why just target her? There was over 10 people in the store and I can tell you eight out of 10 had bathing suit tops on and she was the only one that was asked to leave. read more

Compared to our experience in the past, the customer service was very disappointing and unacceptable this time. While it was busy but not crowded, it took over an hour to get their wonderful olive oil and and balsamic vinegar. After waiting a while for our turn, and finally being tended to, the woman sales person simply walked away from us several times and helped other customers! And, this behavior occurred after been told by the first sales woman, who seemed unwilling to dispense the oil for us, that there might not be enough of it for a whole liter. She then looked preoccupied, muttered something to herself and went across to the cheese counter! Then the other woman exchanged places with her and in between her above mentioned inattentiveness, sold us two half liters of the same oil for $10.00 more! Repeat this scenario with the balsamic vinegar. If it were a sit-com, it might have been humorous, but it was not. It is confusing and rude to treat customers this way, and there might even have been an element of deception going on here. There was no acknowledgment or apology for any this poor treatment, which would have gone a long way to improve our experience. Not sure if this was a fluke or whether there is a real problem with establishment now. Let the buyer beware here! read more

I came here a year ago and had the best coffee ever, was super sad to come back and find out they no longer have the machine. but they have excellent olive oil and balsamics! They were having a wine tasting with a gentleman from Italy with wines he came over with. WOW. I have never had a wine that didn't burn my tongue at some point. My friends and I bought three bottles.These wines were obviously top notch but not priced at a ridiculous amount. Always has excellent service. Will be back every time I come here. read more

We were staying the weekend in AMI for our anniversary and stumbled upon the Olive Oil Outpost. The customer service was amazing, the owner helped us select cheese and wine pairings and the Bree was the best I've ever had. Melt in your mouth! Bread is brought in every Friday fresh and it was amazing as well. You can try their wines, cheese, olive oils, etc. in the store. We will be visiting each time we come to AMI. read more

Great olive oil and cheese! Plus, the employees were super friendly and helpful! I ended up buying one of the featured cheeses, Beecher's cheddar. I also really enjoyed several of the olive oils. We were able to sample a large variety of infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The possibilities of how you can use them are endless. They also sell leaf teas, cheese, olives, pastas, wines, and more. Very cute store, but tasting those vinegars and olive oils were a real treat! Choosing which to buy was a challenge! read more

Fantastic shop selling high quality wine, beer, olive oil, vinegars and food. The prices are reasonable for the quality and there is a wide range of price points. You are encouraged to try things and to ask questions of the knowledgeable staff. Unlike some other shops of this kind the staff are not pretentious and do not try to sell you more expensive items. We visited AMI, as the locals refer to it, "in season" for 10 days - two families, four small children, and a fervent desire NOT to get in a car after our initial shopping was finished. We were so happy to find Olive Oil Outpost! In addition to beautiful artisan food - everything from local honey to imported oils and wines - they get fresh-made bread of all kinds in every Friday. Try their big round doughnut-shaped bread, or the ciabatta or the baguettes (small and large). They'll take a pre-order, but if you make sure to get there around 1-2 pm, there's always extra, The espresso and other coffees are wonderful. Ditto crackers and small cookies. They also bring in fresh fruit (the strawberries were just coming in when we went last time, and they're the best I've ever had) and regularly stock limes, lemons, onion, squash, and the biggest best green peppers. As to cheese, seems like every day we passed there was a great cheese out for tasting. And an olive bar. Loads of pasta and sauces, local pickles, condiments, pretty much whatever you'd need for a fabulous meal. When we didn't feel like cooking, we just picked up some cheese and bread, oranges, and local honey. What a gret meal! Highly recommend this place as a local store that really delivers. Added attractions: Bowl of water outside for your pet, seating areas outside (and on chilly nights, even a separate seating area around a fire pit!), ice water with lemon inside for you.
