Jesus just shut this one down already. Slow service, terrible and rude workers, and the food wasn't even good!

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Drive thru was backed up so we decided to go in. A few people were waiting for their orders but no one was in line to order. We stood there for 15 minutes watching 10 people stand around and do nothing. There were a few workers in the back making the food but many more up front. But they weren't doing anything. They all looked stoned. This was not a case of not having enough staff - I would not give a bad review for that bc everyone is struggling with worker shortage. This was flat out poor management. We came on 3/5/23 about 6 pm. Just looking for a easy good Sunday meal. Came in to order to dine in. The cashier was not friendly, and ended ringing in my food wrong. I asked for the boneless wings in the mildest sauce. He gave me Buffalo which was not mild. The freestyle machine for drinks literally had no regular drinks. No Coke, No Sorite, not even regular root beer. Just diet options and Coke Zero options. Not even power aide or lemonade. Food took longer than normal to get. And then it was all packed to go. Not sure why but the sign on the door says closes at 10pm and 11pm and they always close at 9 or earlier. Will literally sit at a window like they don't see you instead of simply saying "we're closed...short staffed...anything". Workplace full of kids. read more

This is the most incompetently run restaurant I've ever visited. After waiting 15 minutes in the drive-through line for a child's order, I was told that my order had been given away to someone else and I must wait an additional five minutes for my order. There was no apology or explanation. I decided to leave at that point and cut my losses. I was also told I was also told my order was more than twice what it should've been. Food is either underdone (cold, limp French fries) or overdone (chicken is dark brown and hard as a rock). Service personnel are rude and abrupt. Drive through was closed on Saturday 4-8-23, so customers were inside and waiting at the counter. When I finally got to the counter to order, staff never said a word. They just stared at me. They don't carry half the things that are on the menu (egg rolls), (kids meals), certain beverages. This day the only beverages offered were Iced Tea and Coke. read more

Ordered the big zax snack meal and received fresh hot tenders and cold fries, was told they will fry some more and received the same cold ass fries. This is by far the worst location I have ever been to. Every time I go there, the drive thru and the inside is never opened at the same time. When I went in today, there were literally like 11 people working and about 8 of them was standing around doing absolutely nothing but having conversations amongst themselves while customers continued to come in. I literally stood there for 15 minutes watching them do NOTHING!!!! Their excuse was they were waiting on fries. They did not tell the customers that, they were saying that in the conversation they were having amongst themselves. When has it ever take 15 minutes to drop fries. I will NEVER return to this location unless they have a whole new staff. Oh, by the way, the manager was sitting in the lobby on his laptop...smh. I requested a refund, and they were mad about that. Half of them did not have on gloves, some did not have on hair nets, and others just clocked in, did not wash their hands, and went to stand where the food is at began conversating. This is my last time here. Stopped in again tonight; bathroom floor was filthy and looked like it hadn't been mopped all day and the paper towel dispenser was empty. And AGAIN the soda machine was infested with drain flies and the dedicated ice machine hasn't worked in months. The drink station had dried up soda spilled all over it, hence the plump well-fed flies. Though there was no trash on the tables, obviously they hadn't been wiped clean for a while. Most looked like they had greasy finger prints all over them. And here's another pet peeve of mine with this place; when you get a salad the dressing packs are always greasy with food on them. Wish I could give 0 stars. I went through the drive thru to order a wings and things platter. I wanted in line for at least 30 minutes then when I get to the window they ask me what order I got and we're slinging my food around in the bag before it got to me. There were sauce all in the bag and the service of the employees was not friendly at all. No fork or napkins in the bag. Overall not a good experience and I've worked in a fast food restaurant before. They need to completely rehire. People seem like they just don't care for their job or the people. read more

I should of read the reviews first!! Literally the slowest zaxbys I've ever been to. I came in around 11am on a weekday. There was only one person in front of me inside. I saw two ladies waiting by the table on their food and I could already tell they were waiting for a while. I ordered my food-wings and things with fries and a sweet tea. Simple right? Nah. Five people ordered after me and they all got their food before me. Finally I went up front and the manager said they were waiting on my wings. Ok, fine. I go home and eat my food and the inside of the wings were black and pink and seriously just crumbled in pieces. Gross!! I don't have a bad experience every time I come here because sadly I'm forced to be a regular since my job is right there. I however live quite a distance and bring it home. BIG MISTAKE! The employees are rude and just act like the biggest toddlers when you need them to do their job. I never got sauce that I specifically asked for in person. I got coleslaw when I am allergic and the soda machine is garbage. They need to rehire that entire place. I have only ever seen one manager be kind and help me and one cook who had to come to the counter to help me because he saw me getting ignored by everyone. I left this review and just came back 10 min later I ONLY GOT THREE TENDERS WHEN I ORDERED FOUR. Be careful eating at this location, they not only have slow service I have witnessed many of there employees touch food with their bare hands. Yesterday after waiting in line for 30 mins with only 5 cars in front of me there was hair found in the food, and I have been suffering from food poisoning. I started getting sick 2 hours after eating the chicken. I am 28 weeks pregnant and can not keep anything down. I live not too far from this location and I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!!! They gave me fries that were hot, but overcooked and crunchy. I asked for more and was told that new ones would be like that to. I have never had fries that look that bad or an experience at any Zaxby's where a simple request, like not overcooking fries, wasn't accommodated. I asked for my money back. 0 stars should truly be an option. Apparently at least 5 staff is not enough to keep the place running, thus they LOCKED OUT THEIR DINING CUSTOMERS at 12:20 pm (prime lunch time). No seriously BOTH of the exterior doors were LOCKED. We started to leave when a girl came running up to open the doors. We asked why they were locked , she responded that she had no idea. It was when we got to the counter to order that a lady from the back informed us SHE had decided to close the dining room because she was short staffed and it was just too much to focus on. Um, I don't know about you, but in my line of business being short staffed was never a good enough reason to close down any part of business. You hustle and move to the best of your abilities. Period. Needless to say we decided not to add to their (less than obvious) distress and to their revenue. The Smithfield's next door was a nice alternative and, even better, unlocked. read more

Very slow. I tried to go inside and make a to go order and was refused service at 4:45 on a Tuesday evening. Lazy staff!

I am so angry, frustrated, and just plain sick and tired of paying for something and then not get what I pay for. No, I didn't go back, as I live 10 miles away, and only discovered this incompetence when I got home. What's even more upsetting, is the fact that when I was trying to place my order, the young lady was giggling over the speaker, causing me to to believe she was having a silly conversation with someone on her (personal) phone. When this happened, I should have known at that moment my order was going to be wrong, and should have checked my order before I drove away. I ordered and paid for a 10 pcs chicken finger meal, and when I got home, I not only did not have a 10 pc meal, it was 4 pieces. I am just sick and tired of having stop, and the time, every time I order a meal from fast food restaurants - this case Zaxby's - and dig through the package to verify what I paid for is what I ordered. It's really beyond ridiculous. It's sad that service is so poor, the people working at these places are so uncaring and incompetent, and it seems as though it has become the norm. If I were go into the establishment, order something and then walk out without paying, I would be pursued and arrested for stealing; yet, you all stole from me by charging me for something I didn't get. This place short changed me and in order for them to give me my change, said they have to count the till and if it's over then they'll give me my change, but otherwise they can't do anything! We waited close to 20 mins in line at 9 just for them to come out and tell us that the car in front of us was the last car. We then proceeded to ask them about the hours displayed online and at the door that said they closed at 10. The worker gave my husband and I so much attitude and said they have been closing at 9 for 3 months. Please update the hours if you want to keep customers. worst fast food ever. honestly should be called slow food as all of the people in the place seemed to not care. the service just flat out doesn't exist. All the workers seemed higher than a kite and they just flat out didn't care. I waited for like 20 minutes in the drive thru then when i ordered it waited 30 minutes for them to tell me to pull over to the side. after waiting i drove around the building and came back just for them to say "we thought you left and that they have to remake the food". After that i lost it and just asked for a refund but the little girl at the window said they couldn't give me my 30$ that i spent back. therefore i was furious and insisted for a manger to refund me all my money. Came to this location to order salads indoor, because the drive thru is wrapped around the building, and am told that I will have to go back out to my car to order it online... if you have someone inside to tell me your only taking online orders why can't you just take my order? We order online, get our food and bring it home to realize there is no dressings, I call to let the manager know as dressing is the most important part of a salad and she tells me I can either drive 30 min to come get dressing or she can write my name down for dressings when I come back... I don't need the dressings later, I need them now. And then she told me she doesn't have time to go back and forth with her and doesn't need me to tell her how to do her job and when I ask for her name she hangs up on me... DO NOT GO HERE!! If I can give ZERO star, I would. The worst fast food restaurant. On Friday lunch, Ordered 2 SALADS and waited almost an hour. Our ticket number was 22 and they skipped and went on over 40 something. Kitchen staff were laughing and talking in the kitchen while we and other angry customers wait for their food in front of cash registers. ZERO customer skills. We asked the cashiers where our food was and they had no clue but kept saying they will make it. We asked several times but they were only working with their mouths, not caring at all. Probably the worst service anywhere in my life Went to this location on August 24th with my wife at around 1:10pm, when we first walked in the door it looked like a mad house, there were about 15 people waiting for food, when I asked one of the ladies if she was standing in line, she said "Nope and if I were you I'd leave because I've been waiting about 25 minutes" I gave this location the benefit of the doubt.... and order anyways. Because I was curious how long it would take as soon as I ordered I started a timer on my phone. Below is a breakdown of how this worked out for me. Also me and my wife ordered two salads, a Cobb and a Cesar, both fried, this should be 10 minutes AT MOST!! 10 minutes in - drinking talking, more people coming in, and everyone just standing around, they call out order numbers like once every 5 minutes. 20 minutes in - More and more people are getting angry, I'm still hopeful I'll get my food soon as I understand when places are busy, My number is about 3 away. 22 minutes in - Now they have called someone above my number... still in my mind not a biggie, maybe they had something less complex then two salads... 27 minutes in - Almost 30 minutes in and now they are calling numbers after mine, people extremely angry at the service... I join about 5 people asking what is going on, 30 Minutes in - Now I'm mad because I see more then one salad leaving the back and these are ALL numbers after me an my wifes, I talk to the casher, who sorta sighs and hands the note to a cook, who JUST SHRUGS HIS SHOLDERS and does ABSOLUTLY NOTHING FOR ME. 35 minutes in - Woman who is VERY pissed (I always try to stay calm... not worth the effort for me) she talks to the manager, I continue to wait.... Nothing, More salads come out, more people get their food..... about 5-6 people pissed and waiting. 40 minutes in - Some dude from the kitchen sticks his head out the service window and yells what are you needed, so 40 MINUTES AFTER I ORDERED, I'm having to YELL my order back to him, he says "I'll personally make it" 50 minutes in - Still waiting, dude who says he'll make my salad didn't I go with what everyone else is doing and get a refund, BUT to cap off my wonderful experience this dude gives all the food away to the other people that complained, didn't offer me anything, just gave me my money back. I love Zaxby, I love the food I have NEVER had an experience like this anywhere, I will still go to Zaxby, but AVOID the one on Steele creek like the plague.... I ended up wasting 55 minutes of my life in there, and got exactly ZERO for my time. If I was Zaxby corportate, I would look into that day on both the cameras and with management, The staff was clearly eating in the kitchen, The manager, this small skinny blonde had ZERO handle on the situation and the best I saw from her when she was laughing and cutting up with the cooks while everyone was waiting, I saw her laughing and she sorta stopped and looked down because she new she was wrong. The capper the whole damn thing was when I got my refund they lost my receipt and the asked the manager if it was behind the counter, so 55 minutes, my 2 salads and the order ticket is just sitting there waiting to me made and the manager has an attitude about giving my receipt back, doesn't offer me anything. I've been there many times. Food is always good. Was there on December 6th around 8. the person trying to take our order you can ask a question you might get it answer .horrible service acted like he could care less if you were there or not .ask about a couple of sauces not even a good answer. Did not ask if we were going to eat in or take out we were eating in he did it for taking out no silverware. Try to order some celery couldn't figure out how to get that in there without just starting another order. I went to this restaurant Friday night and I had to wait 45 mins for my chicken wings after the staff told me they would be it out in twenty minutes. I had to pull up to the window and they forgot I ordered. They gave my food to somebody else. The evening staff at that restaurant needs to get their stuff together. Very horrible service. I was at this location yesterday Ans the lines were extremely long. The young ladies working at the window very cordial and very caring with the customers. I ordered the 10 piece traditional wings, two large salads both Cobb salad with the grilled chicken. There was no issue with anything the orders were perfect but the salads were great. The only thing I would say on the wings I ordered sweet and spicy sauce the staff need to add just a little bit more sauce on the wings but other than that the wings were nice and crispy and I enjoyed my meal. read more

Experienced the drive-thru at this Steele Creek location. The wait was not long and the service was friendly. I really do enjoy their chicken fingers, especially with the Zax sauce. Zax sauce is good for dipping your chicken fingers and your fries. You do not have to ask for this sauce, it comes with the chicken fingers, however any other sauces (BBQ, spicy honey mustard, etc) you do have to ask for. Zaxby's is a good choice if you're in the mood for chicken fingers, any day of the week they are open. read more

I haven't never had any issues with this Zaxby's. I go there all the time and it is down the street from the house. I always have gone through the drive through though and never sat down inside to eat. The drive through line has never been to long and they have never messed up my order. read more
