This is one of my favorite fast food places in the south! Everything is soooo fresh! This time I enjoyed the chicken club sandwich combo with a sweet tea. Let's start with this delicious sandwich...first of all the tenders they use for the sandwich were on point! The bacon was evenly spread and I can say I tasted bacon in every single bite! The lettuce and tomatoes were super fresh and to top off this greatness it was all between buttery Texas toast!! This delightful sandwich was accompanied by so equally delightful crinkle cut fries which were seasoned to perfection! Now the only thing that wasn't award winning in this situation was the "sweet" tea...it just wasn't ghetto (sweet) enough for me lol. Since we are in the south my expectations for the sweet tea are high af which is why I couldn't give this place that 5th star. Though I'd like to give it 4.5! To be honest I don't even think this place is worthy of 1 star!! Stopped in to eat while traveling to South Carolina. Was not very busy but the first thing I noticed was the bathroom, it was so nasty, toilet paper dispenser on the floor, toilet paper all over the floor, we ordered our food and while waiting, I looked for a table, every table was nasty with crumbs on it, the floor was slippery, but not wet, it just felt like filth. The restaurant just feels nasty!! I was nervous about my food, the fries were hot and fresh but the bread on my husbands kickin chicken sandwich was so salty from the garlic butter. Really really bad experience I just had at this Zaxby's. I'm still speechless by it. It took an hour to get a small order of a Zax snack and a side nibbler. I was patient at first but things took a turn when the person who took my order quit their shift, and proceeded to take their own food and eat in the corner. Fries weren't fresh and we wanted fresh fries cooked. We only ate one a piece to TASTE TEST THEM to see if they were fresh and they were chewy like a piece of caramel and lukewarm. This Zaxby's is located in Metter, Georgia just off I-16 exit 104 (SR 23 / SR 121 - Metter, Reidsville). Zaxby's is a fast casual chicken chain with locations mostly in the South. This Metter location's building and layout appear to be an exact copy of the Marietta location near my workplace (http://www.yelp.com/biz/zaxbys-marietta). Not just similar, but an exact copy. We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30pm and the restaurant was packed to the gills. It seemed like everyone and their mother from Metter and the next town over were here. We waited patiently in line for about 10-12 minutes before we could order. After that, we waited another 12-15 minutes for our food. Zaxby's popular items are chicken fingers, wings, and chicken sandwiches (grilled or fried) along with Texas toast and crinkle-cut fries. They're also known for their "Zax sauce," which I believe is a ketchup and mayonnaise-based dipping sauce. It's not bad. The food here is not healthy, however, as it's absolutely packed with grease and salt. That's what makes it taste good though! We ended up going with a Chicken Finger Plate with Zax sauce, coleslaw, and fries ($6.49) and a Cajun Club basket with crinkle-cut fries ($5.99). A small drink was $1.79. Drinks are dispensed from a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine (a plus). Unfortunately, this was the worst Zaxby's meal I've experienced and I think it had to do with the huge influx of customers. The kitchen seemed rushed and plates/orders seemed to be processed rather inconsistently. This led to one of our plates (Cajun Club) being pushed out from the kitchen first, only to sit on the serving tray for several minutes while the second plate was being prepared. The wait resulted in both the Cajun Club sandwich and fries becoming lukewarm and soggy from a combination of both the sauce on the sandwich and condensation from sitting out too long. By the time the full order was processed, the Cajun Club plate wasn't appetizing at all. In contrast, the Chicken Finger Plate was A-OK with chicken fingers and fries each hot and crispy. The difference between the two plates was like night and day. To its credit, the Cajun Club had lettuce, tomato, cheese, and bacon. It's too bad the bun continued to disintegrate each time I picked up the sandwich. The Chicken Finger Plate came with a slice of heavily buttered Texas toast. It was delicious and great for my arteries. Mmm... The chicken fingers were a tad salty, but that's how Zaxby's does it. The coleslaw was served in its own little to-go ramekin with snap-shut lid. The slaw was fine -- better than KFC and maybe even Popeyes. As mentioned earlier, the restaurant was incredibly crowded, but we managed to find a two-top. The men's restroom was clean. This place is probably fine outside of Sunday afternoons right after church. read more

WAITED TOO LONG!! We ordered immediately upon arriving at the drive thru. However, we then waited at least 20 minutes in line before getting to the window for our order. There were 2 cars already in front of us. The first car was asked to move to a parking space and waited there for another 10 minutes before they received their order! It doesn't take THAT LONG to put down fries and chicken in the fryer and cook them! The cars that were behind us waited a few minutes, but then left and went next door to McDonalds. If we had not been pinned in the line, we would have left too! When we finally got to the window, we received our food right away, but no apology or explanation for the delay. DO BETTER! We ordered rootbeer and were told they were out. We asked for Ranch instead of Zax sauce and did not receive it. I go to Zaxbys a lot in my local area and am very pleased with their customer service. I was in the drive through with my family and the line wasn't too long, about 4 cars but we still waited about 20-25 minutes till our turn. When the girl began to take our order, she lost her patience with us extremely quickly. We asked for the types of salad dressings they had to offer and she replied with an attitude. Clearly the girl taking the orders in the drive thru can't hear properly when asked for a different sauce. typical Zaxby's interior and experience. the decor is much more engaging than the employees who seem like they could give a chic what their customers want. they just go through the motions. at this location the food was barely edible, the fries were double fried, greasy and tasted as if they had been cooked yesterday. the crust peeled away from the chicken upon touch so that you couldn't pick up the tender with out the crust falling all over the place. staff seemed to be aware that since this location was right off the interstate the majority of their customers were traveling through and unlikely to raise any issues. Better choice for fast-casual food than your run-of-the-mill Burger King or McDonald's, especially if Chick-Fil-A isn't an option and you're not a KFC/Popeye's person. Zaxby's is good to check out, as it's a mostly-Southern chain which specializes in chicken-based food items, like Chick-Fil-A, but without that sqeaky-clean, sicky-sweet CFA reputation. If you want your chicken fried, if you want your chicken grilled, if you want it by itself, in a sandwich, on a salad, or in a wrap, Zaxby's has you covered. I like that they have so many different options for sauce, and I'm actually taking the time to write a review for a big chain solely because they "extra spicy" sauce is truly searingly good and should impress most Spice Fiends as it did for me. May I recommend a grilled chicken salad, with the extra-spicy sauce doused all over the grilled chicken and cheese? Forget the salad dressing (not made in-house, obviously, and loaded with crud) - all you need is THE SAUCE! Options for kids, picky eaters, etc. are plentiful, and service is quick, accurate, and efficient. They give you a number and call you up when your order is ready. Seating area is a little more inspired that a McD's or a BK, and exudes a bit more personality, a la a Cracker Barrel, Potbelly, or other such place. read more

This is literally the WORST Zaxby's I have been to. I get that there aren't many options to choose from in this area to eat, but the way I was treated is no excuse. I asked for extra fries on the side instead of cole slaw. When I opened the box there were literally ten fries in each box.
