Saturday afternoon and surprisingly not that busy. We dined in for lunch. Our cashier was friendly and I'm assuming it was the manager that came by to make sure everything was okay. The only complaint was most of the sodas were out in the drink machine, so the only options available were diet. I get my order and make my way home just to find out they gave no type of sauce not even on the sauce that's supposed to be given with my salad. Terrible Zaxby's location. Avoid this restaurant. They take your money and then will not give you your food. No social distancing practicing. They had only one register open with 20 plus people inside gathered around the register area trying to get their food. Complete chaos. No management visible. Piles of completed orders the just would not hand out. Would not provide food and would not provide refund. I wish i could give it zero stars. This is the worst Zaxbys in Atlanta. I thought all fast food places were compelled to serve the same quality of food but the food here is awful! Chicken always dry and over cooked and stale which is weird because they always have a line! No plump juicy chicken tenders here. I order a grilled chicken salad and twice now they they've given me what looked like scraps from other customer's order. Yesterday's "Cobb grilled chicken salad " did it for me. The chicken looked DRY and "shredded " in an attempt to hide how little they were giving you. Other Zaxbys give you a cut up piece of chicken breast you can clearly see. I counted 4 tiny pieces of chicken i could make out. No bacon, no egg. None of anything else that comes with the salad. Just a teaspoon of shredded chicken and sloppy ice berg lettuce. Oh and of course the trusty toast. It was purchased by my wife earlier in the day through the drive through and put in the fridge for me so she didn't know how bad it was. I was so convinced that Zaxbys pretty much gave me scraps from other customers meals that i threw up after eating it because it's all i could do after a long days work. Zaxbys needs to shut this location down. It's a disappointment and a stain on the franchise's name. I'm tired of playing the lottery by ordering there in hopes that i get a decent meal. Save your money! This Zaxbys is complete trash. The customer service, the food lack of quality, this location is really a disgrace to the franchise. I have events and team meetings weekly and I get catering or order take food. This is not the 1st time this location has burned the food, and employees give an attitude when you ask to get it fixed, as if the food is directly deducted from their personal hourly paycheck. We all get it, it's only fast food, but I'm also only a customer, paying my money to your business, when there are countless other businesses I can support for lunch. I will never return to this location and I will make sure to tell my employees not to as well. This place deserves zero stars all around. Recently, I was really hungry and stopped here to QUICKLY grab something to eat, on a lunch break no less. I waited 20 minutes in the drive through, just for the order to be wrong and slapped together. I politely asked to have it remade, the two employees at the window rolled there's eyes! Huffed and puffed, because it's that serious, and snatched the the bag out of my hands and told me to pull up. No timeframe or reassurance provided. They messed up, I've been waiting, but I'm the inconvenience. Ok. After that, I waited another 15 minutes to get a sandwich and fries made, when it started getting to 16 mins, I knew I was going to ask for a refund anyway, but I kept waiting just to see how much worse the service could be, they already wasn't almost 40 mins of my time, what's another 5 mins. Eventually, I had to go inside and ask for a refund. I have since written there corporate office and I have yet to receive my refund and someone needs to be aware of these people. Actually I get my garden salad base at Zaxbys but drive to Chick Fil A for their tenders to put on the Zaxbys salad. Zaxby's chicken whether fried or grilled is just too salty. Instead of waiting in an extra long drive-thru line, I decided to go inside to place a simple order for one salad. However, that was a MAJOR mistake. It took 40 minutes for me to finally get my order. During that timeframe, it took over 10 minutes for me to place my order due to interruptions from Uber Eats pick-ups that were give priority. Then, there was only on person working the at the register, who for some reason kept going back to the cooking area without washing his hands. After waiting 20 minutes, I approached the register and asked about the status of my order. I quickly learned that they had no record of what I had ordered, even though I had already paid. At thirty mins I checked again and he STILL could not give me my salad. Finally, 40 minutes later I finally received my salad, which should have taken five minutes at the most. The most interesting thing that happened was the customer who owned a business in downtown Tucker who asked one of the workers if he wanted to speak with her about a job at her business. And unbelievably, despite how busy the store was, this worker actually came out to the restaurant area and gave her his contact information. This Zaxbys has the slowest service I have ever seen. I pulled in to line and waited 10 minutes before the line moved an inch. I finally got through the line and checked my bag and no sauce was to be found. So I pulled into a spot and parked to go in for sauce. I then waited for probably 6-8 minutes just to get sauce. By the time I pulled out I had been there for over 30 minutes. I ordered a large sweet tea that might have had 3 ice cubes in it so it is sort of warm. The chicken pieces I got in my meal were pretty small. I normally only am able to eat two pieces but not today. Thank goodness I had fries. This was by far the absolute worst visit to Zaxby's I've ever experienced. The speaker was not working, the line was extremely long and the wait took FOREVER. However, DAVID went above and beyond to make my experience better before I left that evening. Because I ended up having to go through the drive thru line twice due to no one taking my order at the speaker box the first time, David comped my entire meal. So the food was good but that is pretty hard to mess up. I've never been to a Zaxby's and been disappointed by the food. You just can't go wrong with fast food that is so delicious! However, the service was not cool at this location. I'm not a Debbie downer when it comes to restaurants. I've worked in restaurants before and I know how difficult it can be! But one thing that is inexcusable is an employee who is rude and/or clearly has no customer service skills. Our cashier rudely told my boyfriend to scoot over to the next register when a simple, "Excuse me but that register is not open," would have sufficed. Then, halfway through my boyfriend's order I decided to pay for it. The cashier then inserted his unsolicited, chauvinistic opinion by saying to my boyfriend, "Dawg, how you really gonna let a woman pay for you?" He then waited to grab my card, which I held in front of him for almost 20 seconds while he didn't make eye contact with me. Instead, he waited for my boyfriend to pay instead of me. My boyfriend went to get a table and when he walked away the cashier proceeded to obviously check me out as I walked away. Very violating! I've given this place multiple tries (drive thru and order inside) and they are very consistent... consistently horrible service and wait. I'm a huge fan of Zaxby's but if you are in the area and wanting some, this place might as well not exist. My wait time has always been over 10 minutes. Drive thru is even longer - 15-20 mins. Service is extremely slow and the staff are not the most friendliest bunch of folks. No apologies, rude interactions at times, and simply not a pleasant trip. Not really sure what else to say about this location aside from the slow/bad service. I hope management looks at the multiple reviews of the service and makes a change. Otherwise, this location has lost another customer. Food has been consistent though as other places but who knows what goes on in the kitchen... - i know i have been denied some sauces or wings because they ran out for the day. Who doesn't like Zaxby's, seriously? I'm sure some people don't, but I do. I've had a long and happy relationship with the franchise and I don't intend for it to end any time soon. This review in particular is about the location on Hugh Howell RD in Tucker. Some locations are newer and cleaner than this one, but the menu is the same at every location so this review could apply to any Zaxby's. Zaxby's is a fried chicken, fast food joint founded back in the day in Statesboro, GA. The best part about the restaurant in my opinion is the Zax sauce - which I've tried to make myself with little success. I usually order one of three different menu items - the boneless wings, the Nibblerz meal (the chicken strips served on a semi sweet bread) and the Zax Snack (fries, three strips and a drink). And extra sauce, always. There is also a grilled chicken sandwich and a number of salads available to those who opt for a nominally healthier meal. Now, there is one thing about all Zaxby's I've been to that kicks it out of four star category and that is consistency. Sometimes your chicken is served to you steaming hot and crispy and sometimes you get the ones that have been sitting under the heat lamp for a half hour. That's just the way it is. You live on the edge. I've found that less people tend to order the boneless wings, so you are more likely to be served those fresh out of the fryer, but even then you're taking a chance. Those delicious cheddar bites, however, are made to order - or so I am told - and taste like it, too. If they could just serve me steaming hot chicken with every order, they'd totally be in the four star category. Nonetheless, I'm not leaving Zaxby's. We've been through too much together. Ok so...as I order through the drive thru I can tell I'm being rushed. The person taking my order I told them I wanted BBQ sauce instead of Zaxby Sauce. They didn't ask if I wanted anything else so I moved along to the window. I get to the window and I say "Is it fine if I swap out my sweet tea for the new grape drink" which costs more. I received an email about Zaxby's online ordering that said "No need to wait in line, just head to the pickup area when you arrive." The confirmation said the order would be ready for pickup at 1:24 p.m. so that's what time I arrived, but the order was not ready. My order was not ready until 1:44 p.m. It would have been quicker to order through the drive-thru! The customer service was sub-par with total disregard for me standing there for 20 minutes waiting to pick up an online order. My order included the new Honey Butter & Bacon Sandwich. I got a plain piece of chicken on a bun. Nothing else on the sandwich. I also ordered a side salad with Ranch dressing. The side sale was not edible due to the lettuce which was old, wilted, and brown. In addition, there was no Ranch dressing accompanying the order. This location SUCKS! When they just opened, they were great, but idk what happened. The service is slow and the food is burned and thrown in the box. I went there on January 23rd to pick up an online order. I got my food 20 mins later than I was told. I asked the girl at the front for the apple juice for the kids meal and she told me it was in the bag. I got home and it was not in the bag, the food was cold, although I live less than 10 mins away, and the chicken strips were DRIED OUT! I tried calling the store 5 times, but it rang and went to voicemail which was full. Most likely full of complaints. So then I called the customer service line and the lady took my complaint and details and told me someone would get back to me the beginning of the next week. I really enjoy Zaxby's food. The Zaxby's that I usually visit is very busy, a wait, and the customer service is not the best. That being said I don't mind wait or dealing with subpar because the food is great. On Tuesday May 12, 2015 I went through the drive-thru to pick up dinner. As I waited in the drive-thru about ten minutes, I placed my order and paid. I ordered 1 Ranchero Zalad and 1 Fried Cobb Zalad. When the cashier gave me my receipt, time stamped 06:55pm, she informed me that I needed to pull to the front by the entrance because the chicken for my Zalads were not ready yet. I pulled to the front and waited 20 minutes! So I parked my car and walked in and told the employee that it's been 20 minutes and no one has come out with my food yet. He took my receipt and went to the back. He returned about a minute or two. He offered me a refund or to wait for my order to be redone because my ticket was "lost". I decided to wait for my order again. He offered me a cookie or drink as I waited which I refused. Five minutes go by and my order was ready. When my order was bagged and given to me another employee gave me my Zalads and my original receipt. She offered me extra dressing which I refused took my order and left. I have been in customer service jobs for the past 20 years. This experience tops as one of my worst ever. I am a very patient person and very understanding in customer service and food service. I am used to the subpar (crappy) customer service living in the south. Living down here everyone usually takes there time and I have gotten used to it. This experience is the worst. Not only did I not get an apology but no manager came out to say sorry. I am not one of those people that is looking for free stuff, I am the type that an apology goes a long way.
