If you're anywhere near Tucker, GA and craving Italian, Bambinelli's is an absolute must. From the moment you step out of your car, the aroma of garlic and Italian seasoning pulls you in--and somehow follows you home (probably because the portions are so generous you'll definitely be taking leftovers). The building looks like it might have been a former O'Charley's--or at least has that familiar layout--but don't let that fool you. What's happening inside is something special. Let's talk about the garlic knots. Yes, everyone gets a basket, and they're fantastic--but do yourself a favor and upgrade to the version topped with mozzarella and served with their signature marinara. Mmmwah... mama mia. That simple addition takes them to a whole new level. Easily a must-order. The menu features Italian specialty entrées served à la carte, so salads and sides are separate. We were warned about the portion sizes (they weren't kidding), so we stuck to entrées only--and even ordered half portions. Somehow, that was still more than enough food. We tried the meat sauce spaghetti and the blackened chicken Alfredo. The spaghetti was solid and comforting, exactly what you'd hope for--but the blackened chicken Alfredo absolutely stole the show. Rich, flavorful, and completely over the top in the best way possible. Service was warm and friendly. Our server was very kind--maybe a little forgetful at times--but nothing that took away from the overall experience. Even though we were completely full, we couldn't resist ordering cannolis to go--and wow, what a decision. They held up perfectly for a late-night treat and were every bit as delicious as they looked. For starters, Bambinelli's has an ample and spacious parking lot. Their "Health Score" on Yelp says "96", but the "Health Score" posted inside the restaurant says "83", so that leaves questions - Hmmm!? The service was probably right below "Stellar" for the overall service, but Annabel did a good job, as did the garlic roll guy from the back, who helped along the way. She was attentive and pleasant, but not OVERLY present. I ordered the baked ziti and I'm not used to seeing baked ziti with ricotta, but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway...It was good, but kind of "hit or miss" with the consistency... Too much ricotta here, too much or too little sauce there - Meh!! When we asked for some fresh garlic rolls, it was presented to us as "hot", but ultimately seemed like some old rolls that had simply been rewarmed, as way too much butter was still coagulated on the top of the rolls and the rolls were actually quite FAR from hot AND a bit hard. My husband got chicken parm and I got lasagna. Didn't come with a salad. Lasagna was good and plentiful but it was just missing something. I ate a lot but still had a lot left over. This is a regular go to for my rotation of cuisines for the family. I like to order about 16 minutes in advance and pick up after work. The staff does an exceptional job packing my salad separate from my pasta dishes. The family favorites are lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo. My son likes the meatballs and Caesar salad. I think I am on a favorite customer list since I get email specials all the time for buy one get one free of the pasta of the week. So I go for pick up at least twice a month. I have to be completely honest -- I've given this place a few tries. My first visit was to the Lilburn location over a year ago; it was okay. On my second visit, I went to the Tucker location and ordered two large pizzas. They looked appealing, but the sauce was overly salty and tasted exactly like the sauce on my chicken Parmesan. On my third visit, I ordered calamari and shrimp scampi. Unfortunately, it was bitter and had an overwhelming taste of what seemed like artificial garlic gel. I was truly disappointed. The only thing I regret is not taking pictures of our meals. The food is outstanding! Delicious and tastes homemade. We were loyal to Olive Garden. Not anymore. We have been a customer of Bambinelli's back when they were in the old shopping center next to Northlake Mall and it was the BEST Italian food. Unfortunately, we have been back twice since they moved locations and it just hasn't been the same. The interior looks cheap and not cozy at all. It used to have a vibe that they were a family establishment and that has gone away, unfortunately. I know there is new ownership under some unfortunate circumstances but it just isn't the same. The service was fine, no complaints there. The food was awful. My husband ordered the chicken piccata and it was flat out gross. He couldn't even finish it. It was not a traditional piccata (which is one of the things we enjoyed about this place - the homemade authentic Italian cuisine). It had mushrooms in it, which is slightly odd, but not the worst thing about the entree. The sauce had a consistency as if cornstarch was used and not real butter/lemon. The consistency was thick and the noodles were mushy. Needless to say we won't be returning and am so sad as this place holds a dear place in my heart (before my husband and I got married we used to have date nights here). This place used to be pretty good, but the quality has gone down hill. My baked ziti was really inconsistent with clumps of cheese or sauce, but no noodles or only noodles. It was also really salty. The flavors hadn't blended and it was just kind of a mess. I was most disappointed by the tiramisu. It was a tragically dry cake substance that I wasn't able to finish. Ever since my friends introduced me to the old Tucker location several years back, I've loved Bambinelli's! While I miss the laidback family vibe and decor of the old place (I'm not as big of a fan of the modern decor the "new" Tucker location has) as well as being greeted by the owner, may she rest in peace, the food has remained great. I know they have a few location options but the Tucker location (old and new) are where the food has remained consistent for me. Typically, my go to orders have been the minestrone soup, the shrimp fra diavolo, the calamari, the baked ziti (with extra sauce) and the spaghetti with meat sauce (with ricotta added). However, today I went with the Fettuccine Alfredo as my lunch entree. It was good but my typical favorite pastas are still my favorites. We also got calamari and Greek salad. The calamari is always perfect--the right amount of breading and crunch, and delicious dipped in the housemade marinara sauce. That sauce is incredible. You can see the garlic in it! The Greek salad hit the spot as well. Service was friendly and quick! Attentive without being overbearing. Don't forget to ask for a side of marinara with your complimentary garlic knots. Those rolls are incredible and so is the sauce! We love Bambinelli's and will continue to visit. My concern is that it's never busy--hopefully they stay in business! I've never been so disappointed in a restaurant in my life. I suggested Bambinelli's to a friend on my birthday which happened to be Father's Day. Holiday or not, the place was grossly understaffed. We waited a solid hour after ordering and getting garlic rolls, and flagged our server for an update. They checked their device and we were told "you're next!" as if our food was on the way. It wasn't so. Flagging the next server, we finally asked to receive our meals to go. Diners near us were rolling their eyes in similar frustration. I'm a fan-- or was-- I know the food here is good. Long story short, I'll enjoy my eggplant parm with Netflix at home. I'll convince my friend to return with me on a non-holiday, hoping I can erase this really bad memory of a formerly favorite place. I was craving Italian food and decided to order from Bambinelli's on Uber Eats. I went with the shrimp scampi, and it was delicious--very flavorful and a generous portion. It was enough for multiple servings. I also ordered a cannoli, which I had never tried before. It was pretty good, and they provided two in the order. I also got the pasta carbonara with Italian sausage and a meatball, and it was amazing! I ended up eating too much in one sitting, but the portion could easily be split into three or four servings. I finished it in two. Bambinelli's is a spot I've been going to for a long time, and it hasn't lost any of its appeal. We had only ever ordered delivery from Bambinelli's so this was our first time coming in. We had excellent service and appreciated the complimentary garlic knots. The meatballs here are also very tasty. The fried calamari was a bit too heavy for my liking (and I had to ask for lemon) and the pizza was greasy. We were seated in a booth and could feel the pressure of the people behind us on the seat back. The restaurant itself could use some repair as it shows signs of wear. There's a decent variety of dishes on the menu but the only filled pasta is cheese ravioli; it would be nice if they had more specialty things like gnocchi, lobster ravioli, etc. I think we will still order for delivery but stick to the things we know we like. read more

2 Stars -- Heartbreaking Decline in Quality Bambinelli's used to be one of my absolute favorite Italian spots -- right up there with Provino's in Lawrenceville. It had heart, flavor, and consistency. But ever since Bambi passed and the location changed, the experience just hasn't been the same. The sauces, which used to be rich and comforting, are now bland and overly oily. The bread tastes like it's been sitting out for hours -- dry, flavorless, and missing that signature garlic punch. And the cannolis? Sadly stale and forgettable. It hurts to write this, because this place meant a lot to me for years. I truly hope they can find their way back to the quality and soul that made it special. read more

( I'm on a diet but I like Chianti #cheat ) I also had one of their great rolls, don't tell my wife. All was excellent, great service by Julieta as well. I was a multi-decade customer of Bonnie Bambinelli at original location but i like what they've done decor wise at the new location. A lot of the original pictures of her and guests. We've ordered many times through delivery but never had a chance to actually eat at the restaurant until now! Lots of parking available and space inside. The menu includes appetizers (like fried ravioli), salads, special features, pizzas and both italian and pasta specialties. While their dishes are around $20, the portion sizes are pretty huge and you will be guaranteed to have leftovers. Our table came with a basket of fresh garlic knots/rolls which were so yummy! Chicken Parmesan ($20): our go to item. You get two pieces of chicken that is nicely fried over a bed of spaghetti noodles with sauce on top. The meat isn't dry and there's plenty of sauce. Our favorite thing to do is to mix these noodles with the fettucine alfredo - it makes such a delicious sauce! Spaghetti with meat sauce (+ a meatball $2, total $19): classic meat sauce. What surprised me was the meat ball and how juicy and flavorful it was! Blackened alfredo pasta with shrimp ($28): we typically get the fettucine alfredo with shrimp but decided to change it up a bit and get the blackened version. It's essentially the same thing except you're paying an extra $3 for the blackened seasoning they sprinkle on top. It's good but I don't think is $3 extra worth. I would opt for the original, they give you a generous portion of shrimp and the sauce is delicious Overall, I think this place hits the spot if you're craving classic Italian dishes. I gave it 5 stars because the food is good and plentiful! Every order could feed a family of 4/5. The plates were as big as your head! The service was OK. Not fast like we're used to in the North(from MN in town visiting), but it was OK to slow down and relax. The bathrooms were nice, clean and bright. We had Alfredo with grilled chicken and broccoli, potato gnocchi and chicken parm. It was so much that we had to take majority of it to go. It's good when you add some seasoning(salt and pepper). The tomato bisque was so salty my mom had to send it back. The bread they bring you while you wait could be a meal! They bring you about 8 rolls that are bathed in butter and lots of garlic. The order made it to me with no problems but when I opened the container I could tell there was a lot of garlic by the particles sitting on the side. Upon tasting the food the garlic did overpower the pasta. I couldn't taste anything else. The shrimp by itself was delicious and seasoned well. If you're looking for a family owned place to munch on cheap Italian then Bambinelli's is for you! If you'd rather pay $3 extra per dish and get real Italian food that's genuinely good... well, maybe not. I thought that the Bambinelli interior for the Tucker location is bland. I know they just entered the new location, but I found the white tiles and jet black booths a bit severe. It's not exactly the cozy, family-style atmosphere you'd expect from a lot of Italian restaurants. As for the service: it was decent. We were told by the server that they were missing an ingredient for the appetizer on special and they couldn't serve it, and then he proceeded to walk away before we could even ask for another or see the menu again. That was odd. Otherwise the service was pretty good. The food was pretty mediocre in my opinion. I got the spaghetti and meatballs and it seemed pretty basic. The meat was largely flavorless, the pasta was average, and the red sauce was also pretty average. Not bad by any means, but definitely nothing special. The best part about the whole experience was the pre-meal bread, which was actually delicious. Otherwise, I can't say I would recommend it. read more

Our calamari was flavorless. No seasoning from what we could taste. We used like from the bar to fix that. The pizza came out with a cardboard underneath. Was this a frozen pizza? Weird. This is the second time I've eaten Bambinelli's while traveling through Atlanta for work. The pizza is consistently really good. Their pizza dough is really good, so the crust always tastes really good. I've also had a Caesar salad each time.
