Holy crap! Who knew a Zaxby's could be so nice? This one in "Winter Park" (not really, but Ok) really blew my yellow "cardinal health" socks off. Maybe it's because I was eating hospital food for 2 days, but they delivered delicious food, quickly, and in a pleasant environment. What more could you want in a counter-service restaurant. There's something AMAZING that happened while dining. I've been eating fast food (or fast casual) for a long time, and in general, food. I bit into one of the chicken fingers and it squirted a spray of chicken juice onto the floor. Luckily, I was turned sideways for some reason or Mrs. S would have gotten the brunt of that. Needless to say, that was one moist finger. I don't know how I can say more about the chicken being juicy! Yum!

Picture doesn't do it justice. Very fresh and flavorful. Chicken is plump and juicy. Very busy location but food was made rather quickly. Cool decor and ambiance . Booths are a little tight and tables are wobbly.

Chicken sandwich is small (fries cold)

Floor in entire restaurant sticky - like they mopped it with sprite. Chicken sandwich was extremely juicy, but also very small, so Popeyes still wears the crown. Most disappointing: fries were actually COLD (for an eat- in order!). This place needs some work. Should do "mystery shopping" to find service issues and fix them.

Yuck, yuck, and more yuck. Service ok, food not so great: dry chicken, dry wings, bland.

This zaxbys is terrible. Always a problem, wait out front, they can't hear you, no sauce and never napkins or forks

I removed the Japanese BBQ sauce and they put jalapeños in there. That made it more spicy, but I like a little spicy. Huge, brightly lit dining room with a beautiful bar with a brilliant display of all the topping options. The person that helped me was very friendly. She built the wrap with expert craftsmanship, and it was delicious. I ordered the Japanese BBQ Wrap (low net carb tortilla with romaine, roasted chicken, napa cabbage, carrots, avocado, crispy wontons, Bachan's Japanese BBQ Sauce, & teriyaki dressing). It was a good wrap! A little high in filler greens, but there was enough of the other good stuff to make this feel like it was worth the price of admission. I'd ask for more sauce, though, always.

It was super packed when we came in for dinner on a Friday night, but the bar area had all open seating so we sat there. We started off with our cocktails and some spam musubi. The regular spam musubi is delicious, but the fried spam musubi is out of this world! The Hō'āhi Rita was deliciously spicy and perfect for my fiancé's taste. The Koa & Kane was a very spirit forward rum drink that was right up my alley! I honestly would try every cocktail if I could. Another beverage I got was the POG juice with vodka added for $12. It was dangerously good. My fiancé and I both order a Mix Plate with varying options (pick 2 proteins and 2 sides). Collectively, we tried the kalua pork, shoyu chicken, shoyu ahi, and spicy ahi proteins with mac salad and spam fried rice. The spam fried rice and the shoyu chicken was our fav combo! The chicken was so soft and deliciously marinated. The ahi tuna tasted like any other ahi tuna you would get at any nearby poke spot, but the chicken and pork were out fantastic! I would have the kalua pork in their sandwich next time instead of as a protein in their mix plate. I absolutely do want to come back here! They have brunch on Sundays, but this menu has a couple all day breakfast items so you could really have brunch whenever. There is no happy hour here (yet) unfortunately.

We also got the thick beef ribs, which were not to our liking but appeared to be cooked well. I missed that that these were beef ribs, not pork. The Kailua pork and cabbage was moist and seasoned just right. The sides of rice and mac salad were good and plentiful. I would go back for the Korean chicken and Mac Salad, but that's about it. Well, I could be talked into more of the Kailua pork and cabbage too, it's hard to make at home. I paid the required 3% surcharge for the back of kitchen and my adddd my standard 20% tip, because the total was still reasonable. But I would have maybe cut back the tip to 15-17% if it had been more costly of a meal. If this becomes a restaurant trend, I will do this for sure.

I'd heard about…read moreBricks & Bowls before (as well as the Ghost Kitchen concept), so we decided to give it a try. I was immediately drawn to the Ghost Pepper Chicken sandwich. I noticed they offered a Boxed Lunch combo that included a half-brick focaccia sandwich, a choice of side, chips, and a cookie. Under the Soups & Sides section of the menu, I saw soups, salads, fruit, chips, and bread listed, so I asked if I could get the Kale Caesar Salad as my side. I was told it wasn't considered a side. That struck me as a little odd since it was listed under "Soups & Sides," but I didn't press the issue and instead ordered the sandwich and salad separately. I do wish there had been a sandwich-and-salad combo option, especially since it's Florida and 100 degrees outside--hot soup wasn't exactly calling my name that day! The Ghost Pepper Chicken sandwich was a bit dry, and I didn't notice much Swiss cheese or enough ghost pepper bang sauce to add much heat or moisture. On the plus side, the focaccia bread was fantastic, and the sandwich was piled high with sliced chicken. Even the half-brick size was plenty filling. The Kale Caesar Salad was much smaller than expected and, ironically, seemed like it would have fit perfectly as a combo side. It also contained more romaine than kale, with just a sprinkling of baby kale on top. The Caesar dressing, however, was excellent--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. At $6 for a small bowl, I was hoping for a little more substance. I also treated myself to the Belgian Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookie that would have come with the Boxed Lunch combo, and it was outstanding. Soft, gooey, and packed with flavor. Bricks & Bowls has a pleasant outdoor seating area in a courtyard setting, with tables shaded by large umbrellas. Just keep in mind that there is no indoor seating, and even with the shade, it can be pretty warm during a Florida summer. Overall, it was a decent first experience with some highlights and a few disappointments. The food had some strong points, particularly the focaccia bread, dressing, and cookie, but at around $20 for a quick-service lunch, I left feeling that the value didn't quite match the price.
