    Beef Kabob Bowl
    Mark M.

Stopped in for dinner last night. Wasn't busy and I see why. I ordered the beef kabob bowl. Decided to eat there. The service was friendly but the food was not. The beef had a good marinade but it was tough to chew. The salad was losing color and did not look appetizing so I picked around and ate the veggies. The rice was the best tasting part of the bowl. I wish I had flipped over the onion and took a picture of the hair that was on it. I just put it to the side. I will not be back.

I fell in love with this place - recently moved to the area and for some reason this was the very first place we tried in our new home and it DID NOT disappoint. So happy we went with this choice & we've had it again since then, that's how good of an experience we had. On top of that, it was delivered, so it wasn't "super fresh out of the oven" and it was still superb. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate with hummus and they hooked it up with the naan bread! Loved it all, especially the portions. My favorite part is that I did not feel sluggish afterwards, like I would with a burger or something greasy unhealthy. Overall, wonderful experience and thank you Zayna's, I will be back soon! If you've never been, highly recommend giving it a go. Personal Review: 8.3/10

baba ghannouch / hummus / Mediterranean salad

Whenever I am at zayna, I feel like home, the food is made from scratch with good ingredients, my favorite thing is their hummus and baba ghannouj mixed with salad, their fresh salad is mixed veggies with olive oil live oil, everything is well done I highly encourage people to taste their affordable and delicious tasty foods The owner and the staff greet you with big smile and efficiency. The seating and the music make the ambiance phenomenal. Thanks zayna for the great food experience.

Ordered for pick up and it was fast and everyone was super friendly. I ordered a drink and they were sold out so they gave me another drink of my choice and and another free drink bc of the "inconvenience!" The soup was big in size compared to other places and loved the touch of lemon with it. The gyro was so crispy and crunchy bc of the crispy pita. My bf enjoyed his combination plate. We are happy to have you in the neighborhood!

Ordered delivery off UberEats. This place reminds me of a food court type spot in the mall in terms of quality. Some place you visit while shopping and gets the job done. Food (6.5/10): I ordered the gyro plate which comes with 2 pieces of bread. The sauce that my fellow Yelpers have mentioned is indeed delicious, however only about 1-2 spoons of it is given on top. It's a tease that makes you wish they gave you sauce on the side or at least more than a piece of meat's worth. The gyro itself was standard in texture but lacked some flavor. The rice was standard and the side salad was basic. As a starving student I didn't have any issues at all demolishing this dish but I'm sure if I'd recommend to others. Again it's a basic meal that gets the job done. Value (6.5/10): The gyro plate was about $13. A little over what I'd like but not absurd.

Best Mediterranean Place in the area. Food is amazing. I ordered the chicken shawarma and my friends ordered the veggie sandwich (which is actually the wrap), and gyro plate. Chef gets the perfect proportions of meat, veggies, and sauce. Pros: 1. Cheap- Wrap is only 5-8 dollars. 2. Food is filling 3. Has vegan options 4. Food is prepared fresh 5. Can see the chef cooking the food 6. Man at the counter was nice and friendly Cons: 1. Small, not much space to sit.

Whats leftover from veggie plate would reccomend!!!

Aba Restaurant review -- Fulton Market, Chicago…read more This was my husband and I first time visiting Aba Restaurant, and we left impressed on every count. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We had an 8 PM reservation, but since we were in the area early, Chris B. kindly accommodated us for an earlier seating. We settled on the rooftop deck, which set the mood with a vibrant, buzzy vibe. The service was outstanding throughout. Our waiter greeted us promptly, with a trainee at the table. (My apologies for forgetting their names). Both were exceptionally pleasant. The trainee did a superb job walking us through the menu, explaining the concept of ordering. We decided on a variety of dishes, and Aba delivered: - Wild Mushroom Hummus: A smooth earthy dish with roasted mushrooms folded into a creamy hummus, finished with truffle oil and herbs. Yummy! - Tuna & Watermelon: A refreshing pairing of tender tuna balanced with juicy watermelon, cucumber, pomergrant seeds and mint. Loved it! - Green Chili Shrimp: Served in a metal dish used for escargo. The shrimp were covered by breadcrumbs and lots of butter with a slight kick to it. Great for dipping your bread in. It did not disappoint! - Pan Seared Halibut: A perfectly seared, delicate fillet, moist and flaky that highlighted the fish's clean, buttery profile. And from the cocktail menu, the Aloe? It's Me. It has a kick to it. Loved it too. Everything was excellent--the food was inventive and delicious, the service was great and the rooftop ambiance added a memorable layer to the evening. Highly recommended for a refined yet relaxed Chicago dining experience.

The plates are shareable so this is great because you can share a few dishes! I tried the smoked garlic hummus (comes with pita bread), short rib Shakshouka, crispy potatoes, and the beef and lamb kofta! This was for two people and we had left overs. The hummus was fantastic! I highly recommend getting the crispy potatoes as well! I have never tried shakshouka with meat in it before and didn't love the texture. However, the flavor was sweet and savory! The only thing that was not ideal was that an optional surcharge was on the receipt, when we tried to get our server to help remove it per instructions on the receipt no one was to be found. That was disappointing and potentially strategic? I would have rather just tipped. I'm not sure how others feel about the surcharge?

Part of me wishes that we got the chance to sit down inside, but maybe that will be the excuse to come visit another time. The Blueberry Clafoutis was my favorite dish. The blueberries were sweet, and it was like eating a blueberry crepe/pancake. The sweetness level was not overpowering, which was what made this dish so enjoyable. The "Bhel" Hummus and Spicy Whipped Feta were both very tasty. I loved the fruitiness of the "Bhel" Hummus and loved how the Spicy Whipped Feta had its pomegranate bits. Each were so unique, and it was an adventure with each bite. Excellent service and food overall. It was a pleasant new experience.

The portions were not shabby at all, and I am glad that the server warned me from another initial consideration which would definitely have been too much. I enjoyed every bite of all items, flavorful, tender and juicy, and simply on point. Will definitively come back when I return to Chicago. PREVIOUS REVIEW Very popular place and hence rather hard to get in. But the wait for once is worth it. The menu items, which come in small portions (tapas size), are very special and not to be found anywhere else. As surprising as some of the items may sound, they all looked great (even the once on other people's plates), and the ones I could get to taste were very special, interesting flavors, and very good. No specific recommendations but would suggest to leave some space for lemon panna cotta. Casual and trendy atmosphere on the Magnificent Mile. Definitely will go back again when in Chicago.

I arrived 25 minutes later and they hadn't even made my order. From there, 3 different people told me it'll be another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and during that whole time there was no apology. One of the workers handed me a tea and later I saw they included dessert in the bag. It was a nice gesture but I was frustrated that it wasn't acknowledged by the staff at all and part of my order was still missing. I paid $2.25 for a Yogurt & Cucumber Sauce which I never received. The Caspian Mix Grill with Albaloo Polo was very good. The filet mignon & chicken breast were both juicy and well-seasoned. The Albaloo Polo is plain basmati rice mixed with saffron, caramelized onion and sauteed sweet & sour cherries. I liked the rice but it felt like they just threw the cherries on top rather than incorporate it into the rice. It was very filling, enough to share with 2 people, and good value. The Bamieh & Balava were also fresh, sweet, and a nice bite to end on. Ultimately, I would give the food a 4/5 and the service a 2/5, hence my 3/5 rating.

Nothing really went together and it was warm, which didn't make sense and made it worse. The steak was cooked how I asked, but the sauce was extremely oily and had this strange burnt flavor which likely was from the onions? The onions were extremely burnt, nothing like a typical caramelized delish onion. The chicken had the same issue, everything had that same burnt tasting oil and the chilies sitting in it just made it more intense. It was honestly just edible and nothing I would come back for or recommend. I love middle eastern food and know that even with a midwestern there are some considerations to take with the flavor profile but the burnt onions, burnt spicy oil in the chicken, and a warm salad are all indications for poor execution. As for the actual ambiance and experience it was my birthday and there was no acknowledgment at all not even someone to check in on whether the food was okay. I did not want to order a dessert after the salad, steak, and shawarma all missing the mark. The seating was very uncomfortable. It is cramped and communal and at this price point I expected a much better experience. Will admit I should have looked into the actual dining set up before booking a late night reservation but even still there are so many better places in Chicago where you can get better food and actually feel comfortable. Overall it just was not worth it. I would not return or recommend this spot.
