My boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to eat after an event, and the place we were planning to go to initially had its kitchen closed. We were looking up a nearby restaurant and came across Kabobi. Omg. Hands down the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. We ordered either the Mixed Grill #1 or #2, and everything was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. I'm not usually a big fan of chicken, but this was honestly the best chicken I've ever had!! It was also our first time trying bamieh, and they gave us tea and the bamieh on the house. Both were absolutely delicious!!! What a great combination. This is a spot we think about often, and we definitely need to make a trip back. Our wish is for Kabobi to open up in the burbs! Interior is simple and spacious, and everyone there is very friendly. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Kabobi!!

Amazing service and generous portions of food, like you will have multiple meals of food for one dish. We ordered a lamb biryani and the spinach beef stew. Both were delicious and flavorful! We were with friends and at the end of our meal, they brought out free tea and a free Persian dessert for us to have, which were really nice. They didn't rush us at all and kept bringing tea and dessert! So 100/10 on hospitality and service.

Ambiance - casual, great for large groups Service - you are first seated down, then you have to go back up to the front counter to order & they give you a number to place on your table Food - massive food portions & definitely recommend sharing, saffron butter chicken was super creamy

My family and I came to visit Chicago and visited Kabobi on a Sunday afternoon for early dinner. We ordered Soltani and it was amazingly yummy. The portion was big . The owner was very friendly and visited our table to make sure we are taken care of well. The staff were polite and efficient. The owner served us complimentary Tea and sweets and we decided to definitely go back there for the other menu deserts. Sure enough my friends said let's go there for Persian Ice cream . We went the same day and had a great Persian Ice cream and it was one of the best quality I ever tried . The restaurant was packed and that shows me the reason. You will not get disappointed.

Kabobi Grill is one of my top if not my favorite mediterranean restaurant in Chicago. It sits within a melting pot of a community. The food is made to order and is always fresh. There is really nothing that compares. Service is always on point to give you desserts, refill on hot tea and water. The dishes are huge and the ambiance of this place remind me of being in Turkey. The food is full of flavor both meats as well as desserts. This has to be a place you must bring your family. Spacious seating arrangement for up to 20-30 people.

We went there on a Friday evening and the place was packed withpeoplefrom so many nationalities. Food is ordered at the counter and took a little bit to arrive, but when it did.....it was delightful, large portions. Tea (free refill) was yum and much needed with such buttery dishes. Dessert (baklava) was yum too. Pick up service after dinner was swift. Loved the place and highly recommend

I came here late at night wanting something filling, and this place did not disappoint. The prices seemed like a lot, but the portions were even more. We got the mixed grill with lamb and chicken. The meats were super tender and just melted in your mouth. To pair it with all the rice, vegetables, butter, and naan that it's served with only made it that much better. I don't think any place could top this for authentic, delicious Persian food. The desserts were also amazing. This might have been the best baklava I've ever had. It was perfectly flaky, not too sweet, but done beautifully. We also wanted to try the Zulbia, which is just like a funnel cake with honey on top. It was pretty good, but the sweetness quickly took over and made it difficult to finish since it was covered with sugar. The restaurant itself was buzzing. Especially late at night, when everything around the area is closed, Kabobi was filled with people just filling out the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is just one really big dining room, so you'll feel like part of a mass of people, but the large windows make it feel a little outdoorsy too. The service was great, our food came pretty quickly, and our server was very nice.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Kabobi every time! The restaurant is always bustling and is my go-to whenever I am feeling Persian food. It really feels like a central meeting spot for the community and I love that. The prices are very reasonable given the portion sizes, and I just wish I lived closer. When you arrive, you order at the counter, get a table number tag, and eventually a server will bring you the food. Firstly, the portion sizes are gigantic. I genuinely believe that one of their regular entrees can feed me for 3 meals. After a long day, my friends and I decided to get a family platter for 4 and that was such a fantastic decision. You get a hummus, salad, and 8 skewers of meat on top of a mountain of rice. Everything was so flavorful! Out of all the meats, the filet mignon is probably my favorite, although the lamb koubideh is a close second. The chicken breast is shockingly not dry and delicious as well. If I had to pick one thing to nitpick, it would be that the pita bread is not very soft and feels a bit tough. Of course, we didn't finish and had multiple boxes of food to take home but I honestly think that's part of the experience (the joy of having too much food). I will definitely be back! Lamb Shish Kabob Late Night (Lamb Chengeh)

10 stars if I could. My only complaint is that they don't have a location in my hometown! Needed to grab a late dinner after our flight was delayed so we of course came here. Their late night hours always come in clutch! It was almost 11pm and the restaurant was PACKED. That didn't change the quality of the food though! We ordered off the late night menu, which is basically the same as their regular menu, just "smaller portions" that were still massive. The lamb was seasoned and grilled to perfection. It was also one of the most tender cuts of lamb I've ever had! Juicy and literally just perfect. We got our food fairly quickly despite the crowds and ever got complimentary tea afterwards! I know good Persian food when I see it and this ALWAYS good Persian food!

Absolutely amazing meal at Kabobi. Very authentic Persian food. Some of the best I've ever had. Extensive menu with plenty of options. Koobideh is a must order. Very flavorful and juicy meat. Service was top notch and extremely friendly. We really felt like family here. Cannot recommend visiting enough. Thanks Kabobi, we will be back, hopefully many many more times!

I loveeeee kabobi. This is a great place to eat delicious food affordably- I would definitely recommend eating family style here! They have a list of fantastic grill options with delicious rice on the side, but I particularly love their persian dishes like chicken fesenjan and ghormeh sabzi. I would venture to call these dishes a must-try. Maybe I've just been craving this type of food a lot lately but I think about this restaurant frequently. I hope to be back soon.

Kabobi is hands down one of the best Persian restaurants in the country! The filet and chicken thighs are absolutely incredible, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor! You can upgrade to dill rice for just a small charge and if you pay cash you do not have to pay the credit card transaction fee which is awesome. You order at the counter, get a table number, and then they bring the food right to you so you can just sit back and enjoy. Make sure to try their spicy sauce which is packed with flavor without being too hot and drizzle it all over your rice! Pro tip: eat the bread after the meat juices have soaked in because it is insane and full of delicious flavor! The ambiance is also lively and usually busy but there are many tables at their new location so you typically won't have to wait to be seated.

Cannot say enough good things about Kabobi! I've tried quite a few Persian restaurants before and this one is in a league of their own. The dinner portions are generous, the food is delicious, and service is so friendly. Probably the best koubideh I've ever had! Highly recommend. Don't skip the desserts either, they were great! You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table so it's a more casual ambiance. We got there around 7pm on a Tuesday and maybe 1/3 of the tables had people but by the time we left every table was full! They run a great business. Street parking in the area is plentiful too.

Also, for your reference, 5/10 is average to me. Service: Upon arriving, they took our coats which I liked! The hostesses were both very amiable, making small talk before seating us. In between courses, they cleaned the table and provided us with new utensils. Also, the server would explain the dish which is always a nice refresher of what unique combinations of ingredients were used to prepare your dish. Overall: 9/10. Ambiance: I liked the decorations & especially liked the dishes the food was presented on. There is only one dining room, so it felt a bit more intimate since you can usually spot your server in the room attending other guests, waiting to serve others, or assumedly in the kitchen. The one bad thing I will say is that the bathroom door lock is tricky- it's a small button that didn't make a sound when it clicked so the whole time I was using the restroom I was paranoid that someone was going to walk in on me. Overall: 5/10. Food: Kashk-e Bademjan (roasted eggplant dip): Out of the two appetizers offered this was the more flavorful choice. The eggplant was roasted to a smoky flavor, which I loved, and was also contrasted by the cool yogurt dressing. The texture was somewhat chunky. 7/10 Zeytoon Parvardeh (olive tapenade): The olive tapenade was great; flavorful and salty. The aesthetics of the dish were also pretty, but I think this stands in the shadow of the Kashk-e Bademjan. 6/10 Salad-E Shirazi (cucumber salad): I loved the presentation of this dish. They drizzle on the dressing in front of you, which I think really highlights how fresh this dish tasted. The aesthetics alongside with the taste was very bright and refreshing. 8/10 Ash-E Anar (split pea soup): This one really floored us. The umami of the dish was amazing; very earthy and savory and cut by the sweetness of the pomegranate. If I could have a whole pot of this, I would. 10/10 Ozonboron (sturgeon): I loved the aesthetics of this dish with the browned butter saffron cream being contrasted by splashes of green. The flavor of the cream was so delicious and subtly fragrant. The potato croissant was delicious but I barely tasted the impact of the caviar on the croissant, so a little bit more caviar could've sufficed. I will say that I thought the fish was missing a little bit of salt to enhance the flavors (which was supported by my partner too). 7/10. Shishlik (lamb chops): This tasted AMAZING! Grilled to a subtle char on the outside and incredibly juicy and tender on the inside. The pistachio herb sauce reminded me a bit of chimichurri enhancing the smoky flavor of the meat. The rice was nicely flavored too but the star of the show was definitely the lamb chops. 10/10. Tiramisu Zafaran Va Pesteh: I love tiramisu, but this one unfortunately missed the mark. Felt intensely sweet due to the syrup the ladyfingers were soaked in. I would've loved to see the sweetness cut with something bitter or rich, but it was overwhelmingly sweet for my taste. I liked the presentation and the flavor was unique. 4/10. Overall: 8.7/10. I really liked the aesthetics of the dishes and the flavors presented. Service was phenomenal. I would definitely come back here.

However, we did leave hungry as the portions were tiny and there were fewer courses on the RW menu. The kashk-e bademjan (eggplant spread) was very good, as was the ozonboron (sturgeon). The sturgeon came with a potato croissant that was excellent and cooked so well. Definitely my favorite bite of the night.
