I had the unfortunate opportunity at Zazas with a massage. She clearly was not a professional massage therapist . She had me face down for 55 minutes. I asked her to massage my feet twice and she ignored me. I asked how long did she work at Zazas she said "I don't know ." The massage was her rubbing oil on my body.. Very disappointed and dissatisfied.. Will not return. I am in the industry and am well aware that she didn't know what she was doing. read more

Went to Zaza's for the first time this past week before heading on vacation. Pedicure was great, it was the perfect length of time and she did a great job on my nails. They switched to another person to do my shellac manicure, she was not nearly as friendly, made comments about my nails being "yellow" due to not using a base coat and suggested that I not use the color I selected (Funny Bunny-OPI) after already doing my nails because it would turn brown/yellow in the sun (which never happend). Was a little irritated by the woman who did my nails, as I have gotten that color several times on my nails with no issues at other salons and they are always able to buff out any yellow from not using a base coat. If she had suggested another color from the start I may have considered it but, don't wait until your 2-3 coats in to tell me its a bad choice! Also, you cannot tip on credit card so make sure you have cash! read more

I have not been to Zaza in a bit and went today with my daughter. I was very impressed ! I had the best pedicure. The woman that did the pedicure was so meticulous my feet have not felt this good in so long. My daughter had pedicure and gel manicure and with the student discount was only $47 which Is pretty cheap if you shop around pricing . Definitely going to make a point to return here next time I need a pedicure . I have been to every nail salon in Stoneham and zaza just moved into my top pick. The place is clean and they are open on Sundays and you don't need an appointment (depending on day/time you may have to wait if you don't have one though). I have had my nails done with many of the staff they were all good, however I like Mindy the best. She is very gentle, and does a great job. I started to ask for Mindy because I sometimes get hang nails and I pick at them making get infected, she is amazing at doing the manicure without hurting the sore spots (and to be honest since she started doing my nails I rarely get hang nails now). I usually bring my phone or iPad and read a book while I get pampered (I don't like talking while getting my nails done, and it is a treat to have some time to read). I was very surprised and disgusted by their sanitary methods. The girl who brought me to the room didn't even know how to put the wax paper on the "bed". The "bed" was also very unstable and I thought I was going to fall off. Worse of all, she double dipped. Again. And again. I would not come back to this place. If I could give this place less then one-star, trust me when I say I would. I had tried calling at least 3 different places to get a Brazilian done but because it was last minute and I needed to do it on Wednesday and I was calling around on Tuesday I didn't have much luck. I came across Za Za Nails on groupon and I decided to give it try. When I came in today, I talked to the lady sitting in front looking as if she couldn't care less about being there. I told her I had an appointment and she once again seemed uninterested. She told me to follow her to the room. Immediately, I realized this wasn't a great idea. Once inspection of the room. It was old wax that is used for eyebrows sitting in the machine. And a bed/table in the middle of the room. It was so weak it literally felt like it was going to fall over at any minute. Not only did she not conversate, she didn't try to make me feel comfortable in any way, she made me feel so uncomfortable and less of a person. She was extremely and I mean EXTREMELY rough. I understand this type of wax isn't exactly comfortable but it has got to be one of the most painful experiences I have ever had. She didn't do anything to at least make it less painful, and when I say this wax was hot, it was burning hot. I told her it was super hot and she ignored me. Once she was done I got up, and she opened the door as I was standing there half naked. It was a terrible experience. Once I walked to the front she was all smiles. She took my money and I left her a tip because she did the job. Now to how it looks? Absolutely horrible. It's extremely blotchy. She left hair. She left yarn from strips. She put Vaseline down there which is an absolute no-no because it clogs pores. She literally did a horrible job. It was extremely painful and for what??? I went through all that pain just to get a half-assed wax. Never. EVER. Will I go to this horrible salon. Tips to take from this: -take your hard earned money else where, it's cheap, but it's not worth it. - the tools and wax they use is not made for the job. I purchased the groupon for 2 Brazilian waxes and my first was was OK. It was definitely A LOT more painful than other places I have gone but I was happy with the result. However, when I went in to get my second wax (which I had paid for with the groupon already) they acted like I was lying about the groupon because they had already redeemed it on the app. Also halfway through my wax she said she has to charge me extra for the outside of my bikini area. ???? A Brazilian wax has everything included that is not a thing? It was just a scam to get more money. Even after I gave her a good tip (which I always do for groupon deals) she was extremely rude to me. I LIKED Christina she was pleasant the first few times I got my lashes done . I went for a Brazilian wax despite the reviews and completely understand why people are outraged. It's very true she is ALWAYS on her phone ! This was my first time getting waxed and she was extremely rough and rushed. I asked her if she could take it easy and She told me she does it to herself she doesn't know why I'm acting like that "don't you have kids"and also mentioned she's not a punk and can take pain . Dear Christina, I am responding to your message to my daughter, Marielle T., who posted a review on 4/18/15. It is not my habit to write reviews but I want to address some issues regarding our visit to your salon on Saturday, 4/18. First, let me say that I was a very good customer over a period of several years. As you know, my daughter is in college and lives in New Hampshire. She comes home to Stoneham to visit me every two weeks. During her visits home we like to go shopping and then have a relaxing spa manicure and pedicure. I have several medical problems with my legs and feet and very much enjoy the leg and foot massages. It is therapeutic for me. Secondly, I spend on average $140.00, in cash, at your salon. I also tip each technician $10.00 each! Therefore, I feel that I was a very good customer for you, but, on Saturday, I have to say that I did not like the way we were treated. Your service was extremely unprofessional and our experience was very disturbing. You seem to be placing all the blame on Megan, but, she was not the only problem. Let me give you a list of items that I would consider extremely poor service: 1. You used the nail file to file down my gel polish so hastily and aggressively that it caused a painful burn on the skin under my nails. 2. Pedicure - the water I was soaking in was cold and not pleasant. 3. Before you began the pedicure I asked you for an extra 30 minute massage for both me and my daughter. You loudly said "No not today - you mean here? Now? We have party of 8 coming in ... " I was stunned and embarrassed! There were two ladies sitting to my left that were receiving long soothing and luxurious leg and foot massages with lotions and hot rocks I do not understand why you would refuse any customer an extra service - especially a good customer like me. Of course I was willing to pay extra. 4. When you applied water from the sprayer to rinse my legs the water was so hot that it almost scalded my skin. I had to tell you to stop. 5. When you were ready to apply the polish, I kindly told you that I brought my own flip flops. You snapped at me and loudly said "not now, later." Again, I was embarrassed and felt very uncomfortable. 6. You DID NOT provide ANY massage at all (even after I asked for extra time) and pedicure was rushed. I was done well before the two other ladies whose pedicures were already well in progress long before mine. 7. Manicure - while soaking my hands in water - the confusion between Megan, my daughter, and the chair began. Megan could have handled the situation differently and just offered my daughter another chair, or just got another of the 20 empty chairs and said nothing, but, she didn't. Instead, she loudly told my daughter that she was in her chair. This made Marielle feel like she did something wrong and she also felt embarrassed and uncomfortable. Once Marielle wanted to leave after that, you physically, firmly held my hands down in the water to stop me from getting up and joining her! This was a littly scary. You apologized for Megan and explained that she didn't mean it the way it sounded, but, by that time, I was already very upset with the whole experience. 8. You must have asked your other technician to massage my shoulders to calm me down at this time. NEITHER I, NOR MY DAUGHTER, EVER ASK ANYONE FOR A SHOULDER MASSAGE!!! 9. My gel manicure is not well done. The color is uneven and is too thick at the tips. I am not pleased with the job you did. 10. You tried to confide in me about problems between your employees and how they don't listen to instructions. I told you that that was no excuse. Those problems are between you and your employees and that the customer should never be made to feel uncomfortable. 11. I paid $90.00, a tip of 10.00 for you (which was very generous on my part because I was not happy with your service), and a $20.00 tip for Cindy, who well deserved it (she did a good job on Marielle's gel pedicure). I got my nails burned off down to my skin, a cold water express pedicure, refused extra massage service, almost scalded by a hot water rinse, snapped at about bringing my own flip flops, a bad manicure, my daughter got scolded by a technician over a chair, and, we left feeling anything but relaxed. We were (and still are) extremely upset and frustrated. This experience ruined our day! You keep saying that you gave me a discount and didn't charge us for the massages. Again, WE DID NOT ASK FOR SHOULDER MASSAGES! We are nice people. We are kind, generous, and also God loving. We come to you in trust that you will take care of us and treat us kindly and respectfully. You did not do that on Saturday. We felt hurt and insulted by the service you provided. Therefore, we will not be returning. I wish you and your staff the best of luck and success in the future. read more

I made an appointment because I had a busy day. I arrived ten minutes early, picked out a color and waited patiently. The time of my appointment quickly came and went. 10 minutes passed, I continued to wait, I was trying to be patient because I know Covid took a toll on all nail salons. 15 minutes passed, I began to grow a little frustrated but texted my husband and said they were running behind, no biggie. 20 minutes passed and I still had not been acknowledged. 30 minutes came and went and I stood up and of course they acknowledged me at that point. They had the audacity to say "ten more minutes." After I had been waiting 30 WITH AN APPOINTMENT! I understand days don't always go as planned but they shouldn't be over booking or at least should have acknowledged they were running behind. I will NEVER return. read more

So, I had a gift card and decided to get a pedicure and a full set of gels (winter ravaged my natural nails). I made an appointment for said services and arrived expecting greatness considering the glowing recommendations I got for this place. My expectations were lower- just expecting decent. My tech did a decent pedicure, but it lasted MUCH less than 30 minutes. My polish is okay, but it is quite sloppy in some spots. The tech kept trying to upsell products and services at every turn. No, if I wanted gel polish I'd ask for it. And after I say no, that should be the end of it. Moving on to the nails- ugh. First, the tech starts doing a straight up mani, and seems to not know that I booked a gel set. Ok, so I remind her what I wanted and clearly said FULL GEL SET. Well, by now, I'm irritated and want this experience to be over. Of course, she starts doing acrylics. Whatever, just finish the job. She keeps on saying my nails should be long. NO. I should get gel. YES, well that's what I wanted. My nails turned up uneven, sloppy, and totally unacceptable. This was $20 mall nails worthy. One nail smudged immediately and instead of removing the polish, she painted over it, and didn't bother to apply a topcoat. Of course, they bubbled and looked like crap.... Crap to the tune of $62. I have a professional job and can't walk around with sloppy fingers. Fast forward, to my complaint to the manager. She agreed they would fix the issues. The new tech starts by looking at my nails and says she'll make them thinner and even them out. Of course she pulls out the grinder and catches my cuticles multiple times but it was because I got them done yesterday (POOP). I was fed a bunch of BS about how my nails (artificial at this point) were too short, and short is hard. Considering, i've been getting my nails done for about 20 years, I feel I know what is normal and expected of any service. Simple things like making sure the free edges are covered in polish wasn't done. They look better, not great, but passable for a couple weeks. I'm happy they agreed to fix the poor service I received, but I will not be back. Maybe other techs are better, but I don't care to find out. read more

Just got my second gel mani from Zaza's and am very happy. Last time I spent a week admiring my nails. I called 5 minutes out (so basically a walk in) the first time and they were able to see me. This time I was a mid day walk in and they saw me immediately. A couple weeks ago I went to a nail salon in Long Island before a wedding and I was sorely disappointed. The color was all uneven, they didn't use any cuticle oil and after they clipped all the dead stuff off my cuticles were peeling. It definitely made me miss Zaza's. I made an appointment today for a manicure and pedicure with 2 nail technicians. When I got there, I was told they were running 45 minutes late. I then asked for a different technician for my pedi. I was taken in in about 10 minutes. When finished, I expected to have my shellac done by the technician I reserved with. I was told that she was "tied up"! I got another technician. When I got home, I inspected my nails and my thumb was not polished correctly. Time to find a new salon! If you value your time, don't go! read more

Came here a week ago with my mom, the front desk woman was shockingly extremely rude, did not greet us, ignored us as we stood at the front counter and then greeted another customer who came behind us. My shellac manicure did not even last 1 week. I came in to have It fixed because It should last at least 2 weeks and I have a wedding tonight that I needed them done for. The nail technician was rude throughout the entire experience of getting 2 nails fixed, whole process to get two nails fixed took 45 minutes. Could have got another manicure somewhere else for less time and aggravation. I actually live in the area and have been coming here for a long time and will not go back here for the life of me. I have been coming to Zaza for the last 7 months. I first discovered it because I needed my eyebrows done and it is relatively close to my home. Christina and Ann are wonderful! I have never had a bad experience to date. I have always wanted to feel comfortable getting my nails and eyebrows done, and I have finally found my forever place at their Stoneham location!! I don't know how there are bad reviews about Zaza's , the owners are so accommodating and will happily fix anything you are unsatisfied with. I don't know how many times I've gone in to fix a chipped nail, and they won't even accept my money for the polish change. Not to mention they give neck massages while you are drying your nails!! It is spacious and luxurious. I spend normally 10-15 just picking a color because there are so many options. If you have had a bad experience here, try them again and walk in with a new attitude. Although I absolutely love my nail tech Sam, the management could be a lot better! My grandmother and I made an appointment for 11:45AM I wanted a dip manicure with Sam and my grandmother wanted a pedicure with Mai who was on vacation so I asked for anyone available. They said no problem and they would see us at 11:45. We arrived at 11:45 and they told us to pick a color and wait. Upon arrival you could see it was very busy so we had no problem waiting a couple minutes. I was taken back to see my nail tech Sam and my grandmother was still sitting out front. About 10-15 minutes had passed and my grandmother was still not taken. At this time the man at the front took back 2 young girls who did not have appointments so I reminded him that we had an appointment and my grandmother was still waiting for her pedicure, he replied "yes 1 second". Another 20 minutes went by and my grandmother was still sitting out front. At 12:50 the man tried at seat my grandmother out back to get a pedicure and she declined as I was almost done with my nails and we had another appointment at 1:45 we needed to get too. I don't understand why you make appointments if they are not honored! Overall my poor grandmother came to the nail salon to sit by herself while I got my nails done. read more

** worst place ever, do not go** I set an appointment to get my Brazilian waxing done I called on a Tuesday and lady on the phone said the lady that does waxing comes in at 11am. So I set my appointment for Thursday 11am. I get there early and wait for the waxing lady. Few minutes pass, I think nothing of it. Then around 11:15am I'm like okay is this lady coming, keep in mind none of the workers have yet to come up to me and inform me that the lady perhaps is running late or what not. They were all busy on their phones. So I wait a little longer, then at 11:30 I go up to one of the lady's at the register she was avoiding me the whole time. I ask her is the waxing lady on her way. Guess what she says " she's not coming, come back at 3pm, we have another lady coming in to do waxing at 3pm" omg I was so angry that she made me wait only to tell me that I wasted my time setting the appointment and waiting for someone that wasn't even in their schedule. Also, not informing me that she was never coming and to have me sit there like an idiot waiting. By far the worst service I've ever experienced. I wouldn't even give them the one star. The new ownership runs this salon differently. All about getting you in and out. I went on mothers day and had a pedicure and manicure....AWFUL. Both services lasted a total of 51 minutes and that included paying for services before the manicure. The manicure was a total of 10 minutes...NO MASSAGE. Pedicure was quick and if you called that massage a massage it was horrible. I have 4 kids and never get to do this...it was NOT worth it. I will NEVER go back. The owner told me to remind her next time and she will do extra massage...REALLY??? The previous owners ran a great place. Not the same anymore. Save your money read more
