I had the opportunity to utilize Zeke's Marina for a couple of their services. We used the Zeke's Team for a guided fishing charter and for lunch afterwards. The "Sea Hunter" fishing boat and its crew was exactly what our group needed. It was a spacious boat with an air conditioned cabin and plenty of space for our group. We caught our limit of red snapper and a king mackerel, so the catching was great. The boat staff cleaned our fish when we returned to the marina, and we took quite a few fillets to Zeke's restaurant where they cooked them up for us; what an awesome feature!! Everyone loved the fresh fish and sides, and we did a few appetizers to round out the lunch. Give these folks a try, and I bet you will love them like we did! read more

Went on a public deep sea fishing charter in the morning. Deck hand did a great job of safety and house rules. Captain was friendly and nice welcoming into the boat. Weather was perfect. Our party of 4 caught 40+ snapper and the deck hands were amazing with cleaning and attending to all of us during the charter! I can't wait to try all the fish! The marina was clean and nice! The gift shop is well stocked with snacks and neat gifts! We have charted here before and highly recommend! Side note: You can have the restaurant cook the fish you caught right there at the marina! We arrived at Zeke's for our schedule fishing excursions on Monday very unsettled about the weather. Keeping safety in mind, thankfully the Captain cancelled our trip. I tried renting a charter several years ago and felt like I got ripped off. The captain had a bad attitude and basically told us what we paid him for was a waste of time and offered no solutions other than trolling. This was boring as hell. This was information we could've used before showing up at dawn to go out. Almost 10 years later, I decided to try again. The lady at Zeke's was very nice and helpful. She booked us with Captain JT Orr on Redline Charters. We had very good look on this trip. We got our limit on red fish, got one mangrove snapper, and caught several more that we threw back. I realize that not every trip gets a lot of bites. We were lucky. But Captain Orr has a great attitude and would be fun to go out with on a bad day. He tries really hard to make a great experience for you. He also works his ass off when the fish are biting. He never got behind, which is pretty impressive. read more

I've heard that Zeke's is a go-to spot when it comes to the Orange Beach area (Similar to the Flora-Bama bar). It definitely has a great atmosphere, both inside and outside of the restaurant. You get to look over the marina they have, they have great outdoor seating. I got the oysters and calamari for an appetizer. They both did not impress me. The lobster roll I got for my entree was great. The dressing wasn't too heavy, and the lobster tasted super fresh. Definitely a cute tourist spot, but probably would explore the area more next time I go. read more

Place is very nice, very clean. Menu is limited but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Go to the beach, expect to eat seafood. For the most part the staff was very nice, no complaints with service. Food prepared and presented well. To get to the point, two entrees and drinks- no alcohol, well over $100 before tip. I booked a shared charter for the end of February. The policy was clear that there was a possibility of cancellation if the minimum number of people did not book. The day before the charter I received a reminder that our charter was scheduled for 700 am and to arrive 10 minutes prior to departure. We arrived early and the office was not open. We did run into a few helpful people, but no one knew where we were supposed to be. One person did know that the office would not open until 800. We waited until 0730 then I called and left a message explaining our situation and we left. At 825 I received a return call and was told that our charter had been cancelled and that someone had left a voicemail at my number stating this the day before. I received no voicemail, only the confirmation email. The lady I spoke with told me she didn't know who left the message because they didn't initial the note stating it was done. I assured her there was never a message left on my phone number which she verified as we spoke. 3 minutes after I got off the phone I received an email stating my charter had been cancelled. This definitely indicates that it was not done prior to this morning and confirms no one even attempted to notify me. For my time and trouble I received an apology and a refund. Zeke's is a large operation here and I feel like their customer service really dropped the ball today. Do better Zekes. The independent boats that provide your services deserve competent office staff and your patrons deserve better treatment. A couple of gift certificates to another one of your experiences could have went a long way to smooth things over. Instead I will be taking my money elsewhere and making sure others are warned of lousy service. read more

My wife and I had lunch today at Zeke's Marina. The Oysters were delicious as was the peel n eat shrimp and Grouper Po Boy. I was disappointed there was no draft beer. Also, the server, while pleasant, was nowhere to be seen. She left us waiting for long periods of time before ordering. We counted more floor staff than patrons, yet service was incredibly slow. The deckhands were amazing. Overall very disappointing. we paid for a 6 hour fishing experience. The minute the group of 14 caught 28 red snapper the captain ended the trip. We caught the snapper by 9:30am. Instead of the captain letting us fish for other species, he turned back for Orange Beach. Even worse was he drove back super slow. No he did not troll back the whole way. it felt like he was doing it to either save fuel or kill time. Many guests were shocked and disappointed we did not fish longer. They're only worried about packing as many people as they can on as small a boat as possible resulting in a $250/person boat ride as crowded fishers jockey for position with tangled lines and no deck hand help. Back story - I called month's in advance asking to be booked on a six pack charter, been doing those for 20 years with no issue. I called the week before, reminded the booking agent I was flexible and could go multiple days and was told they'll know more the week of my charter. I called the Monday of the week of my charter ensuring the booking agent knew I was flexible and expecting to have a charter booked when.... The agent told me the whole week was already fully booked and I was out of luck. In 20 years this is the First time this has ever happened. In a desperate last ditch effort I asked if they had anything, so they dumped me on a party barge and I had the worst charter ever... Zeke's was overall our favorite place to eat while on vacation. My husband's shrimp was breaded perfectly. The little bit of sauce (you didn't need much) was outstanding!! Great taste! Booked a 6 hour fishing trip through Zeke's. We were on the boat "South Wind" with capt Brett. Very professional crew. Took care of passengers needs. We were put on fish and had a great time during the catch. All fish was split up evenly among the passengers. Only complaint is most of "trip" is trolling to and from the destination. We had our limit of fish within an hour. Would've preferred to just get back to Marina rather than slow troll just to take up time. The local restaurant, The Wolf Bay Lodge, offers a "you hook em, we cook em" deal so so we enjoyed a portion of our catch that night for dinner. read more

Very disappointed with this establishment today. My husband & Son booked at noon yesterday @$250 per person for a group charter (15 total) that went out today at 5:30. My husband began to have chest & back pains late in the day and was not sure if it was related to muscle or heart. We tried to call after 8 pm to find out about cancelling but they were closed and there was no emergency number noted. so he just took some meds and tried to sleep and thought he would still be okay. After a horrible night of muscle spasms and pain he knew that he needed to be seen medically this morning. We called at 5 am and left a message and then I called again at 5:45 to tell the store owner and she said to speak to Lynn at 9 am. After the doc appt and a doctor notice for rest till Monday I went there to explain and ask for our $515 refund. She had no compassion, no Hello or anything as I told her what happened. She said repeatedly that they are there to make money and she would not issue a refund or a offer of hey.. when you return back we can put you on another charter NOTHING. Just rudeness. I am sure you made plenty of money with 13 on board at $250 per person + tips. You will never get our business and we bring friends & business owners down all the time who love to fish and have plenty of money to spend. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK ELSEWHERE!! Due to mechanical issues with another charter (that I have used many times to much success) I was recommended Zeke's Lady. Zeke's Lady is a party boat sold as a fishing charter. There was: - No social distancing (25+ people in close quarters) - Sharing bait buckets with 10 people - Inattentive and incompetent deck hands (with the exception of one - they were extremely overstretches) - A rude captain who would bully other captains - Bad fishing spots (of the 25+ people only 5 fish were caught) - Little instruction - Constant line tangling After I bought some food at a local shop and discussed my experience with the owner. Unfortunately, she informed me by experience was not a rarity. She explained how her boyfriend was a deck hand and how none of the good deck hands would work for Zeke's due to reasons explained. I really wish I would have read a similar review and choose to spend my money elsewhere. read more

My boyfriend and I went on a "party boat" for my birthday to experience some deep sea fishing. I had never been, and he had gone when he was muuuuuch younger and so we didn't really know what to expect. The way a party boat works is this: You call, and ask to go on a certain date. If they meet their minimum requirement of 15-20 people (or more), they will leave that morning. We had to wait another day because the day we wanted to go, they had not met their minimum requirement. In any case, we arrived about 20 minutes earlier than what was asked for us. We paid, (it was about $85+tax per person). This includes your bait, license, and trip to and back. This does NOT include the tip for the deckhands, or the $.30/lb cleaning fee for all that you have caught. Our party boat had less than 20 people, so it wasn't too crowded. There was a young kid, probably less than 13, that was there, but the majority were average aged couples. You are supposed to bring a small cooler with you, and it can have anything you want---no illegal drugs of course, but I brought beer, water, and in my beach bag, brought jerky and snacks. A lot of other people brought sandwiches, etc. We were informed by our Captain that because the water was cold, we'd have to go out a lot farther south than normal. This ended up being a 2 hour boat ride out. While that is okay, considering that it was a 6 hour trip, it definitely took a lot longer to get back to shore. Once we were at the destination (the Captain uses a fish locator), we were able to drop our lines. This is a drop only fishing trip. No casting, and there were 2 hooks to each pole. The bait we used had a certain name, but I just called it squid. I would definitely recommend bringing either santi-wipes, or a small towel to wipe your hands with. I ended up getting squid ink embedded in my nails. No biggie, just giving you an idea of what to expect. Once we dropped our lines, people were catching fish here and there! The majority of what we caught were Vermillion or Lane Snapper----red Snapper was not in season (we were about a few weeks shy), and I didn't see any fish that was incredibly huge. Once you catch a fish, you call the deckhand over, and they are very quick and were also very nice throughout the trip. I even got tangled up in another fishers line, and they were right there to help. The only thing I didn't enjoy was that we were only there at the first spot for what seemed like 20 minutes. The Captain told us to bring the lines back up, and then we were onto another place. This happened 2 more times, and while I thoroughly enjoyed myself, I couldn't help but feel that I wanted more time to fish! They do state that this is for people who just want to try and see what its' like. They offer Charter boats, which are quite expensive, but if you get a big group to go out and split the cost, it is definitely a good choice. You can also trolley, which allows you to cast out your pole as opposed to just dropping down to the ocean floor and reeling back up. We got to see a shark (very small), and I even had 2 fish on each hook, but in my excitement, forgot to bring my pole on board and lost one.... All in all, we caught a total of 10 fish. Once we headed back towards the shore, (we tipped our deckhand $20), we got to the dock and the deckhands were able to cut and filet our fish, and even place them in a ziplock bag. Hence, do not forget to bring a cooler with ice. You don't want those fish to just sit out in the hot sun. Once we arrived back home, we grilled up the fish into some fish tacos, and they were amazing. There is nothing like catching your own food and eating it! I give this 4 stars because I felt like we could of had more fishing time if we weren't taken 2 hours+ down south into the gulf. I would do it again, but I think I would try the Charter fishing trip next time. read more

Be prepared to share your boat with 51 other people. I was unaware that there'd be so many people on board or that I'd have to spend 3 hours of my 4 hour trip going to and coming back from the spots. (That's an hour of fishing for $65 if nobody did the math) Then they want you to tip the deckhands $20 for helping out. One hand took my 8lbs red snapper which was out of season off my hook for me and then tossed it before I could get a pic or even a close look! Thanks a lot swab! Booked a 6 hour fishing charter through Zeke's. We got put on the boat Bad Habit. There were 4 of us and we shared a charter with two other guys. Boat left out at 6:21 am. We stopped and jigged for bait near the pass for 20 minutes or so. Then we trolled for the next THREE (3) hours. During that time we caught several Bonita that was cut up to be used for bait. We also caught three small Spanish Mackerel. We eventually got to the spot. We stayed only 45-50 minutes. However during that time we did catch our limit of very large (10-12 lbs) red snapper. We then returned back to the dock trolling along the way to no avail. We got to the dock around 12:30. The captain was not sociable at all and was fairly rude. He refused to tell us where we were going to fish upon being asked only giving smart aleck answers. I guess he was afraid we were going to come back and poach his secret fishing hole. This was frustrating because we sat on the boat for three hours not knowing where and when we were going to get to bottom fish. The deck hand was really good and tried his best to help us. The other thing was there were two eight (8) year olds on the boat and the boat radio traffic was turned up very loud, which is understandable however the conversation that was occurring on the radio was very inappropriate and definitely not kid friendly. It would've been nice of the captain to at least turn it down so we didn't have to explain what the "f" word and other questionable language meant. All in all a decent trip, because we limited out. Just lack of communication and the long ride made it not enjoyable. Odds are I'll try another Captain next time we come back. read more

Rented Jet Skis today. Pretty beat up but they worked and ran well. Make sure you get the 3 passenger one. They have more power. They do not tell you there will be a long wait. They say "just wait over there" and after a long time I went and talked to the snotty girl at the hit and she said it would be over an hour. What? And then she got all snotty and said it was my responsibility to ask if there was a wait. Haha. What a jerk. Classic beach town service. So we left and swam and came back in an hour and still waited 30 minutes. But fun was had in spite of slippery service. Buyer beware. read more

We were very disappointed with our trip on "The Intruder". We chartered for 8 people total for a 6hour bottom fishing trip on June 9, 2017. We caught three small snapper and one king mackerel. Not a complete bust but for the price and based on all my previous charters in Orange Beach it was a very poor haul. We never left site of the Alabama coast line and only fished 30-45 minutes of the trip. This was basically a very expensive and slow boat ride. To add salt to the wound the other charters we saw come in did very well that day. Our deck hand was very nice and did his best to make our trip enjoyable.
