Excellent food, ambience, and service. We don't have many in Rose Lodge, in fact technically it's I think the only restaurant in Rose Lodge. All dishes we have had here are always cooked with care. The restaurant is kept clean and seating is comfortable. The restaurant can accommodate large groups and parties including family's in half the restaurant. I highly recommend stopping here if heading in to the beach. Good value for your money too. Portions are huge enough to share. Staff is always pleasant and Brooke is the sweetest. What an asset to our little town to have a local restaurant right down the road. read more

This was a great place for a post-hike lunch right next to the trailhead for Drift Creek Falls! There's an indoor section with plenty of seating and a beautiful outdoor patio with the river running right along it. FYI the outside is a smoking area and the smell can get a little strong. We first shared Korean bbq steak bites, which was okay (a bit on the chewier side). The smashburger and fries were perfect. Im working near the area and ordered food online. There were no pictures so i could only go off of the description. I ordered a grilled chicken dinner meal but what i was served looks like slop. The chicken is covered in this super oily and in my opinion, disgusting, lemon pepper sauce. I couldn't even take a bite of the chicken because the bottom was so hard as if it was old. The workers were nice but this food is gross and i threw it away. Food 0/10. Customer Service 9/10. read more

The owner only hires the best of the best staff. The service could not be better. Positives: 1) Service is great !! 2) Food is hot. 3) They have the menu down perfect. All LC restaurants had incredible wait tines for breakfast(11 on a Sunday) so we headed back and pulled into Zellers. What the heck? It is a total dive bar with stained seats and in serious need of repair. However, our breakfasts were really REALLY good . My friend had Monte Christo that was delicious and my home style breakfast was great. Thick bacon, hashbrowns crispy on the outside soft on the inside. There was one cook and one waitress so service was a little slow, but not unreasonably so. If you can get past how it looks...you'll get a good meal! read more

Had to advocate for my winnings and the fact that my meal was not prepared properly. I will never come back to this unprofessional, unpleasant, and unethical establishment again. It's all about having fun, locals are blessed to have it so close to them. But the ride is lovely along the river avoiding HI 18. To find a place that has great food every time is really special. My husband and I just don't have one favorite several must have meals. The deck is wonderful along the river hopefully that sunshine will give us more time to enjoy it. Smoking is allowed on the deck but just stay close along the river view side and smell the fresh air. read more

Don't miss this local restaurant! My friends and I stopped by on our way to the coast. This little restaurant and bar is right off 18. At the back of the restaurant is a deck with a beautiful view of the river. We really enjoyed eating our food and watching the birds. I had a Reuben sandwich on gluten free bread. All the burgers and sandwiches had gf options which was great for me! The Reuben was delicious and packed with corned beef. One of my friends got the cod fillet which came with green beans and mashed potato. My other friend got the prime rib steak which is only available on Fridays. I tried some of her steak and it was my favorite. So tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Service was wonderful, our waitress was friendly and attentive. Reluctantly we agreed to go and WOW. This place is great!!! First I had one of the best bloody marys I've ever ordered anywhere and then the 1.50 tacos??? Oh my gosh they were amazing!! I had the flour tortilla with ground beef and my husband had the carnitas with soft corn tortilla. All I can say is wow wow wow. Unreal that had to be one of the biggest surprises we've ever encountered for a kind of hole in the wall road side bar. My suggestion don't miss this diamond in the rough. Totally stumbled onto this place while heading to a rest stop off the highway to sleep for the night. Its a big place but most of it is blocked off and/or not in use anymore. Really nondescript place but it intrigued us. There's a patio out back for people to smoke and talk and have a drink that butts right up against the river. We had a couple beers and ordered some apps. I had the onion rings and my buddy had the potato skins. Both were bomb dot com. I wanted to return in the morning and try the chili burger but sadly they were not open. Google had said they were 24 hours but that was not the case. read more

We've been seeing their Facebook posts for a bit so we finally decided to stop by. We have to say that the food and service far exceeded our expectations and the photos didn't do the food justice. We started our meal with a bowl of clam chowder to share. The owner let us know that the chowder is made from scratch and is gluten free. It's truly a CHOWDER - you basically need a fork and knife to get through it. It's hearty AND delicious. We also got a couple burgers and fries. The fries are amazing - double fried, crispy and salted to perfection. The burgers are some of the best we've had on the coast and very reasonably priced! We came here before -once- when it had a different name. At that time the owner was very friendly and engaging, the food was just ok, and the place smelled very very musty. It smelled so bad we couldn't come back. We heard it was remodeled from our friends and decided to try it at 5:30pm on a Saturday. I ordered the chicken strips and he got the pulled pork sandwich. He liked his sandwich-but the chicken strips were like out-of-a-bag pos strips. I mentioned the time because it was sooo loud in there that early it was hard to have a simple conversation. That being said...the music was good. It has a great view as it's on the river. There's a nice little patio there as well...but it's pretty much dominated by smokers. The door to the patio/deck needs to be planed in the bottom as the door hangs up on the warped floor and, well, stays open if the smokers are rude and don't give a isht about their smoke going in where people are eating. It's an easy fix if someone cared.... I can't help but mention the chairs in the dining room, or at least the six at our table. They were cloth that was so stained and filthy looking I felt the need for a preventative HepC shot after sitting on them. Just.Ewwww. It is so cheap to buy vinyl at JoAnn crafts if you cannot afford new chairs and recover them. And then you could wipe them clean. Also an easy fix if someone cares. As for me, it's just a big No Thank You. I cannot go there a third time. read more

Gave it a try even tho I was shocked to see it was no longer Maxwells. All of the historic pictures on the walls are gone. They have been replaced by pictures of horses and stars. When did this become Texas? The owner or manager whoever it was was pretty rude to kitchen staff. Told them the customers wouldn't like the music they were listening to. I for one did like it. She has a shrill voice and never stops talking. Made our dining experience a very poor one. Other people came in and commented on the changes.. she loudly proclaims "yep, and more changes are coming tomorrow". Sadly we have decided that we will not be back. Hello, let me start by saying we never actually got a chance to eat any food. Why you ask, well because after almost an hour we didn't even have our appetizers. I guess their hand-held ordering system is supposed to automatically go to the kitchen. Well, the "interweb" wasn't working at the time so the "Chef" never got our order. Amazingly enough though, our "un-named" wait-person brought us plates, then water at least 3 times. We just assumed after the 3rd water re-fill and seeing empty appetizer plates 50 minutes later something might have registered. My wife finally went to ask about our food, that's when they told us. They let us know it would be about 4 minutes. I asked how much the tea was because we were leaving. If you happen to stop here, please double check to make sure your order was placed. I am not bashing the place but only hope this helps them to improve their system. Family owned and operated 1st time there we ordered 3 separate entrees to go. VERY GENEROUS PORTIONS!! We got 2 meals from each. Food was hot and outstanding. Family friendly with a separate area away from the bar. This is the local hot spot. If you are on the way to or leaving Lincoln city this is the place to stop. We will defiantly be back again! We got seated and the waitress walked away without a word. She came back several minutes later with water and walked away again. Mind you the restaurant had 3 other tables full with the largest party being 4 people and 3 tables were already eating. After several more minutes she came to gather our orders. We fairly quickly got clam chowder cups, but after 20+ additional minutes later, and realizing we had now been there for 40 mins. We finally asked when our food would be ready. They said it's almost up. A couple minutes went by and they brought a salad we had order that included bay shrimp. The smell hit all of us hard the second it hit the table. We were done at this point. We paid for our soup and while doing so were bashed for leaving since our food was now ready. Having another staff member say "what, there food only took 21 mins to make, that's not that bad on a Sunday." 3 wait staff, cooks or a cook and a restaurant with 13 people and 7 of those people already eating when we got there. That to me is uncalled for and with the stench or the bay shrimp it screamed for us that this was not a good choice to eat at. I would not recommend this place at all!! read more

This is the best place on HWY 18 to grab a drink and a great meal. They have the best tortas in the pacific northwest, and Juan and Tony are the best. Head on down to Roadhouse 18 and order a Maggi's Torta and sit back while your tastebuds explode. Never a disappointing meal here, and the view of Salmon River on the back deck makes it hard to leave. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. read more
