And wait we did - about 45 minutes to be seated. By the time we sat down, I was starving and ready to order immediately. I had the Benedict Florentine, my friend ordered the seafood omelet but substituted salmon for the seafood (for an additional charge), and we split the French toast. Despite how packed the restaurant was, our food came out surprisingly quickly. What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. Our waitress was also hosting, yet somehow remained incredibly kind, attentive, and on top of everything. She checked on us several times, and the bussers were just as wonderful - clearing plates and refilling water without us ever having to ask. You could tell this was a well-run operation where everyone worked together. Now, THE BREAD. Oh. My. Gosh. I am not a big bread person. I can go months without eating it and not think twice. But whatever bread they served with my Benedict Florentine was OUT OF THIS WORLD. So light, soft, and delicious that I genuinely don't know what they did to it. Put an entire loaf in front of me and all bets are off. You've been warned. Everyone raves about the French toast, and yes, it was very good - but honestly? The bread itself impressed me so much that part of me thought it was almost a shame to toast it! Between the beautiful setting, great food, and a staff that handled an incredibly busy morning with such ease, Wildflower Grill was absolutely worth the wait. Try it alone, with syrup, and our favorite with a bit of blackberry jam! We also had the "House Favorite" two homemade biscuits smothered in homemade sausage gravy topped with chicken fried steak, bacon, cheddar cheese, green onions and tomatoes, plus 2 eggs . . . fabulous as well! Wonderful service. Excellent and friendly staff with high attention to details, water and coffee refills without any asks. Our wait on a Saturday for two was about 30 minutes. They have beepers so you can explore some fun costal shops while you wait as opposed to standing in line. It was raining the morning we visited and we stayed dry and loved ducking in and out of the Rock Shop, Coffe Shop, Curio, and Christmas Store while we waited to get in. As you drive up you cannot help to notice the red building with a classic Old Cafe sign off HWY 101. They have a unique story, the original Otis Cafe was located in the City of Otis in the 1920s, named after the Post masters nephew. They have ample parking in their own private lot, as you walk up to the building and the main entrance, they have outdoor seating. Key finding, depending the time you arrive you may be waiting a bit to get in, they seem to be very popular with good reason. Once inside you will notice a very open seating area, with various booths and table seating options. They make fresh bread, we could not resist we took home a loaf of homemade bread it was very tasty. The staff greet you as you walk in, it has a very friendly vibe, the staff cycle through the building repeatedly checking in with its customers throughout your visit. The food options are plentiful, also note their portions are huge. We finally decided on an Omelette with veggies and ham, with a side of bacon and German potatoes with wheat sourdough. We also ordered the French toast with Fruit, an egg, another huge portion of food ample for two or three. The food was served warm, to our options and extremely tasty. The bacon was huge, well cooked, the Omelette and potatoes were perfectly cooked, I really enjoyed the Omelette and bacon. We are still working through the French toast, we took 3/4 of it home with us. Some recommendations, review the menu, be ready to order they are fairly busy and turn tables quickly. This is a must try spot during your next visit to Lincoln City.

I want to let you know about the experience we had.   My wife and I had stopped in for dinner a few…read moreweekends ago.  We shared multiple appetizers and a dish that had fish and opted for the extra shrimp to be added.  Everything started out great, the service was great at first. Our server opened our bottle of wine, the appetizers came out in a timely manner and I have to say, the calamari was cooked perfectly.  However,  when the main dish came out, the fish with shrimp on top, we bit in to the shrimp and it was completely overcooked. Such a disappointment after the calamari.  We took the shrimp and put them on a small plate and placed it at the end of the table. We continued to eat figuring someone will stop and ask about the shrimp but no one did. Several employees walked by and one even stopped and picked up dishes but never asked about the shrimp.  The server finally came around and and asked about dessert.  It was then that we spoke to him about the shrimp.  We were told that he can take it off the bill or use the amount towards a dessert.  It was definitely a disappointment.  In this situation,  I've normally experienced a manager to stop by but that wasn't the case here. There's no pricing on the menu, which is a bit odd, and one might infer that this is so Nyla can charge tourists a different price from locals. I ordered a small, vanilla latte and it was so weak, I stirred it to make sure the flavor wasn't all resting on the bottom. Definitely NOT worth the $6.50 on this cup! Additionally, Nyla needs to do a bit of sprucing up as the place is fun and quirky, but needs a good cleaning and some paint!

I couldn't believe that a restaurant so close to Surftides and right on the ocean has such an impressively affordable drink menu--I mean, seriously, where do you get a $10 Old Fashioned these days? The bartender came over quickly and took our order for two Old Fashioneds and a bowl of chowder. Upon delivering the drinks, she mentioned she was new and wasn't sure if she'd made them exactly right. They were actually good! She just missed the cherry and orange essence, but for $10, I'm certainly not complaining. The clam chowder, however, was the star of the show. Seriously, it's the best clam chowder in Lincoln City right now. I am picky and not easily impressed, but this was perfect. It was clearly fresh--rich and velvety without being pasty or like 'sipping on gravy.' The clams were tender and provided a perfect balance of rich texture and delicate, briny flavor. We will definitely be regulars whenever I need a chowder fix!
