The evening event, Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz, featuring the unforgettable performance by the Steve Rudolph Quartet, was rescheduled from Friday to Sunday due to Canadian wildfire smoke affecting air quality in the Harrisburg area. The Steve Rudolph Quartet (Steve Rudolph, piano; Hassan Shakur, bass; Larry Marshall, drums; and multi-instrumentalist Thom Strohman, sax, piccolo, flute, and clarinet) did a tremendous job featuring Jazz compositions by Benny Golson, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, and Charlie Parker. The Millworks support local talent from growers to local artist. The restaurant provide fresh seasonal items. A menu that has something for everyone that includes homemade pizzas, sandwiches and full meals. With a solid drink menu that includes cocktails with shrubs, their beer, wine and more. I sat down at the bar and was warmly greeted by fellow patrons and the bar staff during a busy Thursday night! Pro tip: make reservations if you want a table. The bar overlooks the courtyard that offers limited seating. The main dining area offers a very size able seating area. Note when the sun goes down you can be blinded at the bar. As it was so good that I was having trouble deciding on some food but I paired down to a couple items and with help of the patrons and bartender we decided on a pizza with mushrooms. The pizza was very large and filled with mushrooms. A great pizza for mushroom lovers. I complimented my pizza with an adult beverage. I had a champagne with a local shrub. It was the perfect balance. During mg time at the bar, I learned this is one of three restaurants in town. The owner has a "dive bar" that looks to be a tiki bar and a date night place.
