I can't really figure out what the shriners are about except charities for children, I just don't get how they can keep such a massive building in the shape it is. They have lots of different events at the shrine, we attended their annual circus which was what you would expect for a $15 ticket, but I enjoyed it and would go again. Rooms are very clean. It's quiet, staff is really friendly. Great location with everything my family & I needed a short ride away. All the major attractions are less than 15 minutes away. The breakfast is still tastier than other hotels. The gym is not the biggest but clean with everything I personally need for a nice workout. Negatives are still the same. Room can be a little bigger. Needs more storage space. Pool seems always busy. I wish breakfast would last until 10am. For the price, location, friendliness, cleanliness, complimentary breakfast & gym...it's an easy 5-star FOR WHAT IT IS. Their strong areas overshadow the negatives, I'd go back in a heartbeat. 24/7 coffee station with decent tasting coffee.

My room was around $240 for a Friday night. The hotel is located in a busy commercial area with a number of nearby dining options, though most are fast-casual spots and generally require a short drive rather than an easy walk. The hotel sits across from a large farm, so there is definitely a noticeable farm smell when entering or leaving the property, though it was not an issue once inside. Overall, this was a comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced option for a work trip. If you are looking for a newer hotel with reliable amenities and easy access to Lancaster, it is a good choice.

My guess is the kitchen is not up to code, and they are not allowed to serve food. The place is filthy, and the host is very unorganized. When we arrived the host took us to our room (no locks on the doors) and showed us our bathroom which was a separate room (we had to leave our room to use the bathroom). The bathroom light was not working and not enough towels. The host told us they would fix the light and then she went to another room and grabbed towels for us. The first time I took a shower I found a dirty hand towel hanging on the shower knob. So, I'm sure the bathroom was not properly cleaned. There was one dresser in our room, and all the drawers were full of personal junk, there was no place to put our clothes other than a hanger that was hanging on the wall. A microwave that didn't work and a small fridge that had ice build-up and needed cleaned were in our room. The downstairs was worse, looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the mansion was built, so bad that we would not sit in the living room or spend any time in the lower level. The day we left we walked around the property, and the place is overgrown with weeds. And on top of all this the host has accused us of stealing two of the nasty towels and breaking a defective window blind that was in our room. I guess they need the extra money to fix this place. We were very disappointed and do not recommend this place.

I could even forgive the out dated style and yellow wall paints if it wasn't for one thing. Omg. Omg. The music, the music. For some reason we could hear loud music in our bedroom/hotel room the whole time but from around 12 am - 8 am. We heard it when we checked in and the next morning, while my husband was still asleep. When I say loud, I mean we could understand every word in every song that played. I am assuming it was the music from the restaurant, but after paying over $270 per night it is something I would not expect to happened.

For starters, we drove over to the gravel parking lot and looked up at the parking lot to see goats - it always brings a smile to my face! Then we went to where the ceremony would be held by walking on the gravel from where you parked. The spot where the ceremony was held was beautiful with all the flowers and the water behind it. The barn was very nice, with vast chandeliers and other details. The bathrooms were nice, and the women had three or four stalls, which is appreciated. It held around 80 - 90 people comfortably. As a guest, I thought it was a really nice venue, and I'd be glad if a friend had their wedding there!

This is a response to review of 9-29-18. That review is incredibly mis-leading…read more. So to start out, I have attended at least 10 events at the American Legion's Hall from bands to celebrations. I liked it so much I joined as a member. The staff is always courteous and friendly. The prices are better than most. The facility is also kept cleaner than many other venues. The night in question, the guests were smuggling in alcohol from out-side which is a violation of the their contract.. Sorry, but when you rent a hall you are responsible for the behavior of the people you bring in. When warned that any outside alcohol was a violation of the contract and that if it was seen again the event would be terminated the Bride holding the event said it was "Not my problem". Well, it happened again.. and the event was ended and tons of people who did not know the details got really rude and surged the bar and then the girl in charge went and got help from club members (I was one of them). I saw the containers of confiscated alcohol that were left out in clear view on tables.. People that do these types of things need to stop screaming show me some respect and need to show some respect themselves. You sign a contract you take responsibility and "respect" your own word. Bartenders at a place with a liquor license have to up-hold the liquor regulations and when people are smuggling in alcohol it hits the revenue side and it keeps them from doing their job. So, you break the rules you face the consequences. No one wants to see anyone's event ended early, but when you dis-respect the contract you signed and show no concern when warned and it happens again, the event is over. With the cries for "respect", a door man is not security and is there in more of a service role for needs that come up. He is not going to frisk your guests on the way in. That would be disrespectful. In addition, the race card was played in that review.. The club has members of all races and services events from all races. Only those that refuse to comply with their contracts have issues and that is not determined by race.

Well, in that vain, welcome to Cedar Rapids when coming to the Valley Expo Center in Lebanon. Some sickos in my family decided it would be a good idea to see the cultural smorgasbord that is BOLOGNAFEST 2017 which apparently takes place annually at the Expo Center in January. Now remember, this is not the Festival in Bologna which takes place every April in Italy. No, this is I shit you not, a one day festival it rural PA devoted to that great smoked lunch meat Lebanon Bologna. Don't know what Lebanon Bologna is? Read on: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebanon_bologna The set up is simple. Pay entrance fee (yes to the four of you who read my drivel, you need to pay for awesome privilege of entering the festival) then enter the festival which has two main rooms of stuff going on plus a few extras. Extras: Some students from the Lebanon Career and Technology Center had some small ice carvings outside the main entrance. They were pretty cool to look at and it sure as hell was cold enough outside for the ice to more than last the entire day. The main hallway was solicitation central. Every local area bank, insurance company, roofer, etc. had a booth trying to push their product or service. Room 1: Was set up for the 2nd annual Cornhole Tournament. Don't know what Cornhole is? Read on: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornhole Room 2; A giant cornucopia of crap. This room had small inflatables for the younger kids to play on. Some small games of chance for both kids to play. A guy that brought some snakes to touch. Multiple food vendors hawking everything from a local Lutheran Church bringing soup, to a small Lancaster based candy company to various Lebanon Bologna offerings from various companies including Seltzer culminating with the stomach curdling Lebanon Bologna Fried Corndog on a Stick! (Charge to 200! Clear! Beep! Thump!) Pardon me but I had a heart palpitation just typing that let alone the thought of actually eating one. This room also had a stage with different acts during the day such as a juggler, a karate group, a live animal show, a beer & wine tasting but the crowning moment of course was the Bologna Eating Contest! The contestants were given a stack of Lebanon Bologna sandwiches and to win they simply had to shovel down the most within the allotted time. The $250 first place winner with something like ten or eleven sandwiches inhaled was Jack "Snack Jack" Diamond who I believe is a competitive eater having won this competition before and having competed and won other competitions such as the Newark Delaware Spud Bowl, the Mount Joy PA Rib Competition and the TNT Deli Fat Bastard Eating Contest in St. Clair PA. Overall I think we stayed two hours give or take and by that point, it was more than enough. If you want to go (Oh Boy!), apparently this thing takes place annually in January and is a only held for one day on a Saturday with this years version going from 10-8. Admission is suppose to be $4 per adult with kids 12 and under getting in for free but somehow or other when we bought a raffle ticket to win ?? they waived the admission cost. You've been warned.

If any of those activities interest you I would recommend the Lebanon Expo Center, the staff is usually nice and admission is reasonably priced for their events. They have a have small food court and dining area inside and it's a cute place to visit for an event.

Entrance was delayed by security checking credentials at the gate which cause traffic to back up in both directions. The buildings were smaller that those at other previous locations and it was a long walk between buildings. The venue could have done better at letting visitors know as I believe that many did not see exhibits in the other building. The restrooms had attendants which was a surprise. The grandstand area was good for demonstrations of large vehicles. There are hotels some distance from here
